STC (Step Timing Control) is a variable injection system that allows the engine to operate with either advanced or normal injection timing depending on load conditions. It uses a hydraulic tappet that is filled with oil to enable advanced timing during starting and light loads, injecting fuel earlier in the compression cycle. During medium and high loads, the tappet is not filled with oil and operates in normal timing, injecting fuel later. This variability in injection timing helps reduce emissions and improve fuel economy while maintaining engine performance and durability under different operating conditions.
