Static charges on surface rewinder
Problem
On a surface rewinder, the core initially rests on the support rollers which rotate in order to wind the film. The
winding package is in constant contact with support rollers. The support rollers rotate the winding package to
create winding action.
During the winding, owing to contact and separation from rollers and changes in temperature, very high static
charges are generated. This will invite risk of spark / fire, shocks to operator and dust attraction. Hence static
charges need to be eliminated completely from the film before it is rewound.
