How Did Edvard Munch Attempt to Visualize Intense Emotion...
Question 1: How did Edvard Munch attempt to visualize intense emotion in his paintings? Discuss
in relation to particular paintings. Edvard Munch is a highly influential artist, pioneering many of
the ideas that informed the German Expressionist movement. The crux of his work is in the
reflection the death, grief and emotion of his own experiences. Drawing from his own tortured
upbringing, with the death of his father, brother and sister, as well as his own mental and physical
illnesses. There are several ways in which he visualises this emotion in his work. Through form,
colour and technique Munch translates his obsession with psychological states into highly striking
works that have resounded through generations of artists and... Show more content on

Munch worked with many different styles throughout his career and the reduction of form
shows the influence of the expressionists and the art he would have seen while he lived
intermittently in France between 1889 and 1892. He changes focus from the representation of
physical form and instead into a study of psychological experience and passion that expresses a
modernity of attitude. The colours, dark in hue, but brilliant in intensity, scream of the intense
emotion portrayed by Munch. His works from the turn of the century have a reoccurring colour
palette. Presenting the same window to a tortured world with blood red skies, pale skinned
beings, and dark mysterious corners. In one of his earlier works, The Sick Child, made after the
death of his younger sister, the colour scheme is dominated by the relationship of a range of sea
greens with a hot orange red. It may be suggested that the greens and reds themselves evoke the
queasiness and fever of illness. The effect of the colour scheme is deepened by the fact that these
colours are complementaries, which gives a dynamic effect in combination. Munch manipulates
this element for emotional as well as aesthetic effect. The girl s face glows with a pale yellow
light, which is reflected in the stark white of the bedhead in the background, in strong contrast to

The Consequences Of Julius Jones And The Jonestown Massacre
All across America, television sets display nine hundred and nine dead bodies. These bodies, in
aluminum coffins, came over to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. Tax payers were irate at
possibly having to pay for all the embalming and burial costs ( The Horror, 28). Embalming and
burial costs are expensive and many people lost sympathy for cultmembers. So, people opposed
paying for the consequences of the Jonestown massacre.
Jim Jones realized he was losing control over the People s Temple, leading to the Jonestown
massacre. Then in 1975, he uprooted his followers and isolated them in Jonestown, Guyana. Jones
began instructing his followers to commit a revolutionary suicide (Twemlow 224). The People s
Temple s actions concerned many family members and outsiders, which sparked Congressman Leo
Ryan s involvement. Congressman Leo Ryan and some reporters were on a mission to rescue
Americans from Jonestown. On November 18, 1978, Jim Jones was paranoid that his reign over
Jonestown would come crashing down when some of his followers went with Congressman Ryan.
Jones used a mass suicide to remain in control. Many people of Jonestown drank the poisonous
Kool Aid. When people resisted, Jones loyal followers injected hesitant followers with the poison.
Jones ordered the murder of Congressman Ryan and was responsible for the deaths of nine hundred
and nine Americans. Jim Jones constructed the Jonestown massacre by advertising false promises,
instilling fear, and blackmailing his

Economic Development And Development Of Welfare
When discussing the origins of welfare states it is easy to make an assumption that the
development of welfare states was in direct response to social needs brought by industrialization
and economic development. In fact the early scholarship in social policy did not question the
causational effect between economic development and development of welfare states.
Understanding that economic development alone cannot sufficiently explain why some
countries developed into full welfare states while others did not prevail until the emergence of
social democratic theory and its further expansions. Based on the later studies, the economic
development was a necessary cause and played the role of creating the need and the resources
for social provisions while politics was sufficient condition which determined whether social
needs would be addressed though creation of welfare state of other types of social provisions.
Looking back in history, while economic development did not invent poverty, it change its nature
by making it difficult for families to take care for the disabled, elderly, and unemployed. More
specifically, it led to a decrease in labor force participation in agriculture, rapid spread of self
regulating labor market, urbanization, destruction of traditional social protections, commodification
of labor, and the emergence of a new social category of the laboring poor dependent on the insecure
labor market. In addition to establishing the above described functional demand

The Relationship Between Regular Participation During The...
Introduction The purpose of this research study was to examine the relationship between regular
participation in the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) afterschool programs and
academic achievement as determined by changes in standardized test scores, and district
benchmarks in Language Arts and Mathematics. Specifically, this study examined whether there
were differences in rates of school attendance, measures of academic achievement, and number
of discipline referrals for students who attended the after school program regularly for two years
as compared to students who did not attend the after school program regularly. A quasi
experimental study was used for this research. This chapter includes conclusions, summary of
results, and action plan/recommendations. In the final section of this chapter the researcher will
provide prescriptive suggestions and recommendations for future research. Summary of Results
The data from 120 fourth grade and 120 fifth grade students were used in this study (Tables 1.1
and 1.2). All data were archived from school years 2010 2011 and 2011 2012 academic school
years. The required consents from parents, school district, and IRB of Kean University in New
Jersey were obtained. The results of this study indicated that the 21st CCLC afterschool programs
proved to be significant in improving two of the five target areas, math and language arts. Students

Knighthood And Chivalry In The Tales Of Marie De France
The tales of Marie de France, shed light on the romantic relationships and chivalry of this time
period. This is very insightful for modern people to be able to read and understand the culture of
that time. Knighthood and chivalry were respected by some, but many times they were disregarded
for passion. Love and marriageare largely connected to physical attractiveness of the person and
the passion involved. Marriage is not a very serious commitment and will be disregarded whenever
another presents themselves as a more attractive lover. Religion is not huge in the stories but can
be present when looking for a lover. Magic plays a part in the Yonec and Bisclavret stories, but is
not largely present throughout.
In the tale of Equitan, the nature of knighthood and chivalry is shown through the relationship of
Equitan and his knight. Although Equitan had said that he was a man who upheld chivalry,
throughout the story he lusts, lies, and takes his knight s wife for his own. He begs her and
claims being sick until she is willing to be his, and this does not shed a positive light on his
chivalry and king s honor.
In Milun, honor has a big place in the story. For example, Milun must go to the other country to
fight the one knight who claims to be better than him to defend his honor. Although when he
realizes he has been beat by him he shows respect for him because he has truly been beat. His son
also shows respect when he sees his gray hair and recognizes that he had hurt an older man. This
shows the good side of chivalry where the knights respected each other and good duels.
The stories show that marriage and love is not regarded highly, Equitan steamrolls through his
knight s trust by taking his wife and scheming to kill him. Love is presented as the desire for
someone because of their looks. In the tale of Bisclavret, his wife s love and marriage is secondary
to is thinking that it is weird that her husband turns into a wolf. She does not really love him or
care for their marriage. She then uses a knight of her husband s to scheme to kill him by taking his
clothes. This shows how easy it was in that time for people to find others who desire them and are
willing to turn on the people their king.

Clean Green Fuels Case Study
Fraudulent
In 2009, Rodney Rashawn Hailey, the owner of Clean Green Fuels, embarked on a journey
defraud the EPA. Hailey started by registering his business with the Environmental protection
Agency EPA as a renewable energy producer under the EPA s 2005 Renewable Fuel Standard
Program (RFSP), which was established in the Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA).
RFSP requires oil refiners to produce a certain quantity of renewable fuel or purchase credit
equivalent to the quaintly as a mean to compensate for their production of petroleum based fuel.
These credits were given in the form of Renewable Identification Numbers (RIN). Every certified

The officers visit the corporate headquarter without warning Hailey. During their visit, they
questioned Hailey about the CGF s operation process. Oddly Hailey couldn t provide the agents
with a specific location where the fuel was being produced. He also made some inconsistent and
self incriminating statements and even noted that his business was temporally out of commission.
Eventually they obtained an address where some of the biofuel production was occurring but when
they arrived at the site all they found was a couple of empty containers.
In May 2011 Judge Beth P issued several warrants and seizures warrants for Hailey s home, office,
bank account and other valuable items in possession because of RIN sales. Internal Revenue
Service (IRS) special agent Catherine Chow lead the warrant execution team. Local police called
Hailey and informed him that a suspicious person had been sighted on his property and if the
department could search for the suspect. When Hailey came to open the gate, federal agents
bombarded the vicinity.
Hailey was eventually sentenced to 12 years in federal prison for selling false RIN and pocketing
$9.1 million in fraudulent renewable energy credits. His assets were confiscated, and he was
required to pay $42.2 million in restitution. Hailey was charged with wire fraud, engaging in an
illegal monetary transaction, and violating the Clean Air Act (CAA). Other key players that

Career Progression And The Career Development
The above quote by Confucius is often quoted, yet job happiness isn t as easily achieved. One of
the reasons behind job dissatisfaction is often the lack of planning. But career progression and the
ability find a job that doesn t feel like work requires meticulous research and focus.
In this guide, we ll explain career progression and the reasons why it s so important. We ll
provide a four step plan to help you develop a plan that guarantees you don t feel left behind when
it comes to achieving your career goals.
What is career progression?
The concept of career progressing is closely tied to the idea of career development. Career
development is the lifelong process of managing your circumstances in order to move forward to
achieving your personal goals. It s the management of your education, work and leisure activities in
a way that helps you achieve the kind of future you want.
As the definition of progress states, progress is a process developing gradually towards a more
advanced state . Career progression sees you working towards your ultimate professional goals,
little by little.
In essence, career progression determines and outlines the route you should follow in order to
reach the career development goals you ve set out for you. For example, your dream career goal
might be to own your own business. A career progression plan will help identify the educational
and work related steps you should take in order to get closer to this goal and ultimately, to achieve

Group Communication Analysis Paper
Analysis Paper
In my opinion, group work is a type of cooperative learning that helps people to accomplish a
certain task in a faster and more effective manner. Team working also helps to achieve the tasks
that are impossible to finish by one individual. However, if people in a group have a lot of
conflicts, group work will not be able to achieve as much as we expected. There are many reasons
which lead to dissatisfaction in group work such as individualism as well as conflicts in opinion
and time.
Initially, I had a negative view on group working because of the challenges that I had. When I was
in high school, my five other friends and I used to work together in a music competition. Although
we were supposed to get together to practice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Secondly, I want to mention our group climate. In my opinion, our group has a supportive climate.
Each member is willing to help other members in the group to complete their tasks. Our group
favors description compared to evaluation. Instead of criticizing others behaviors and ideas, we
often tell our feelings about problems. All the group members always encourage each other to share
their opinions and feelings with the group. Even though some opinions are too conflicting, the main
purpose is trying to give all the members equal opportunities to talk about their ideas. Thus, the
success of the group is the consequence from the equal contributions of all the members.
Besides, in most of the discussions of our group, we are oriented toward problem solving;
therefore, we look for the consensus of the ideas in order to solve the problems effectively and
quickly. Because our group has many members who have senses of humor, we always maintain
an interesting and comfortable atmosphere to gain assertiveness in the group. Sometimes, Ngoc
and Phong share their experiences of how they solve their families problems. Through perceiving
more deeply about each member s own life, we have gradually gotten closer together; therefore,
we are always honest and open to each other. Also, we do not criticize when a group member
cannot finish his or her task as expected because there are always personal issues out of the class.

Theme Of Nature In Jane Eyre
After struggling to find a new home, Jane finally finds Moor House where everything grows in
harmony with and echoes its environment (Fuller 160). This reflects the spectacular, new
family she finds in St. John, Mary, and Diana. This is a significant change from any other
location where Jane has stayed before as she is now able to sit in the sunshine, calm[ly] and
sweet[ly] (BrontГ« 373), and nature almost climbs through the window to embrace the house s
inhabitants (Fuller 160), symbolizing that Jane is very close to achieving her goal of freedom.
Jane s new life is her version of perfection, or so she thinks. This perfection comes crashing down
due to one of the house s inhabitants: St. John. St. John pushes Jane away from nature as he is
separate from an antagonistic towards the balance between humanity and nature (Fuller 161),
because of this, BrontГ« changes the weather back to its cold, dark ways to show Jane that it is
time to move on again. As Jane and St. John s interactions increase a whirling storm continue[s]
all night (BrontГ« 383). St. John s marriage proposal truly throws Jane for a loop and due to his
persistence, Jane cannot find peace at Moor House as long as St. John disrupts her connection
with the natural world (Fuller 161). The storms increase until it finally reaches a climax, the
frozen hurricane (BrontГ« 383), where Jane finds herself trapped in her own real life disaster.

Plastic Pollution Essay
The Global Impact of Plastic Pollution Entering Marine Ecosystems Approximately, 280 million
tons of plastic is produced year round around the globe (Sigler, 2014) which accounts for 8% of
the worldwide manufacturing for oil (Vegter, et al., 2014). Plastics are a major component in
most consumer products; the reason being is that plastic is inexpensive, lightweight, durable, and
an excellent insulator. For this reason, plastic can be found in most items from: storage
containers, packaging material, communication devices, and transportation. Unfortunately, 3.5
million pieces of plastic are estimated to enter the ocean shores daily; one third to a half of the
garbage found in the ocean originate from the beverage industry (Cohen, 2015). This litter is a
symptom of our throw away society and our approach on how we manage our natural resources
(UN, 2011). Nearly one third of plastics that is generated are for single use items such as: floss,
straws, stirrer, coffee lids, and disposable cutlery (Sigler, 2014). The presence of plastic debris will
not only effect oceanic habitat and ecosystems but have an economic effect on anthropogenic
activities such as tourism on beaches and fishing industry. Although many countries are eager to
prevent and manage wastesurrounding their coastal waters; none are willing to take responsibility
over the large accumulation of waste in ocean gyres, known as garbage patches, and for good
reason. These garbage patches are located in

The Battle of Saratoga was the most difficult thing Benedict Arnold went through in all his

Another crazy thing that Arnold did that made it difficult was he led an attack that he had ВЅ as

Intentional marketing: International marketing is the process of planning and under taking
transactions across national boundaries that involve exchange. Outsourcing is a film directed by
Jeff coat. A comedy talks of conflict between cultures and the romantic era. It revolves around the
American Indian culture. In the film, you can see the characters deal with the issue of outsourcing
by exploring the differences between the American and Indian culture. In dealing with the
current trend of outsourcing, outsourcing captures not only the lives of the new India, but also
from the newly globalized world and the importance of understanding between cultures. It also
does a wonderful job of presenting the beauty of India s cultural and slip for many Americans to

little inspiration from the film. Cultural shock and personal experiences major pass in the film
was based largely on the experiences of John himself during his time abroad. It deals with the
issue of outsourcing as well. Otherwise, it would have been very easy for filmmakers to fall back

Gender Stereotypes In The United States Today
Gender stereotypes are present in the United States today. Women are only supposed to act in
feminine ways while men are only supposed to act in masculine ways. Women and men have
different standards when comparing one another. Men and women have different roles that society
says is more feminine or masculine. Genderstereotypes are present throughout any race. Race
stereotypes are also a problem today and still have their own gender stereotypes with in their
culture. When people act outside what society says those gender roles are, they are seen in a
negative way. Society has determined what we consider to be acceptable definition of feminine or
masculine. Throughout history, gender stereotypes have played a significant role in peoples lives....

Society has defined what it means to be masculine or feminine. If people go against the gender
roles and the definitions society has set people are seen in a negative way. Gender stereotyping
within occupations is present in today s society. Men and women as supposed to be in
occupations that fit into the feminine or masculine definition. If someone goes against those
definitions then people being to stereotype a person just because of their occupation. Society has
set the stereotype that women should not be making the most money and should be taking care
of the children. This stereotype has been around a long time and still is present today. Adichie is
an example of how gender stereotyping plays a role in her life. People stereotyped her based on
where she is from and what they have heard without getting the correct information. Gender or
skin color should not define who people are or what they can do. Stereotypes do not define who
we are. People should care more about who that person is on the inside instead of judging them
because of what s on the outside. No matter what gender, race, religion you are it should not
cause negative impacts in a person s life. Everyone deserves to be treated equally no matter what
the color of their skin is or their gender. To fix this problem people need to go into situations with
an open mind and no stereotypes that would cloud their judgment. No person wants to be judged on

Description Of The Play In Othello
Othello: A 17th century soap
The play Othello was written by William Shakespeare and first performed in 1604. It tells the
story of a group of people who are entangled in a complex web of relationships and try to work
out the dynamics of their tiny society. This brings forth a load of drama that plays directly into
hands of the villain of the story: Iago. He carries a huge grudge against the main character: Othello.
The storyline in this play is so dramatic and complicated it can be compared to a television soap
nowadays. The main characteristic of a soap is: an emphasis on family life, personal relationships,
sexual dramas, emotional and moral conflict. In my opinion the setting of the play, the relationships
within and Iago s role contribute to making Othello 17th century television soap.
First of all, the setting of Othello greatly contributes to the dramatic storyline. In a modern soap,
the circumstances force the characters to face each other. For example, the characters usually form
an intimate group, like a family or close group of friends. In real life they would have ... Show more

exactly clear what the reason is. It is mentioned that Othello promoted Cassio instead of Iago to
lieutenant but does not legitimate Iago s aversion in my opinion. It seems this hate is mostly
used to give Iago a motive to come up with a revenge plot and thereby create an interesting story.
All characters are influenced either directly or indirectly by Iago and this way all events are
orchestrated by the Moor Slayer . This becomes visible in the many soliloquies Iago has in the
play. A good example takes place in the third scene of the first

food, coupled with the desire to eat 1. World hunger, however, takes this definition and brings it
to a global scale. Internationally, there is an estimated 850 million people that don t have enough
food to lead a healthy lifestyle. While this number has gone down by 100 million in the last
decade2, it is still the worlds leading health risk and the poor nutrition that comes with it is still the
cause of death for nearly 3.1 million children under the age of 5 each year3. Thankfully, there are
organisations that work to end world hunger. However, this leads me to my focus question
Is there enough support and awareness to stop world hunger and prevent the undernourishment of
children?
My aim was to find out whether organisations that work towards ending world hunger and the
undernourishment of children have enough support and awareness to reach their goals. My primary
resource is a survey that was conducted in my community. My secondary resource include the
World Vision official website, the United Nations World Food Program website, and several other
websites.
I handed out 20 surveys to people in my community, including neighbours, family, friends and shop
keepers. In all I had made 20 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, that is not the only disturbing fact. It was found that global hunger has a sexist
side to as if women had the same access to resources as men did, the number of people affected
by hunger would drop by 150 million4.To make matters worse, women provide up to 70% of
agriculture production but make up to 60% of people affected by global hunger5. This huge divide
has sparked the development of programs such as the Women s Empowerment in Agriculture
Index6 which is being lead by the International Food Policy Research Institute

In Thirteen Reasons Why, Clay receives tapes from his deceased friend and high school crush
Hannah Baker. The tapes create a panic stricken atmosphere because with the tape, the characters,
specifically Clay, actually hear Hannah s voice explain why she has given up. Similarly to the
sketchbook, the tapes give Clay insight on why Hannah committed suicide while describing the
pain she was going through. Through the sketchbook and the tapes the reader is exposed to the
hurting emotions the suicidal characters endured. It is clear that Hannah as well as Glory s
mother were depressed and were strongly impacted by the people around them. Through Hannah s
tapes Clay realizes the horrid encounters Hannah had and because of the sketchbook Glory learns
about the suffering her mother was going through while living her everyday life. Being exposed to
these pieces of literature reminds teenagers that their peers could be going through similar
situations, creating awareness of the issues that could arise in a person s life. The passages in both
the books also emphasize the emotions Clay and Glory went through while they were trying to
understand why the people they love committed suicide. With that being said, another concept
highlighted in these novels is the impact suicide could have on the people who were connected to
the individual who passed. Glory constantly thinks about the suicide of her

Catcher in the Rye Song Project
Under the Bridge Red Hot Chili Peppers Analysis In this song, the lead singer, Anthony Kiedis,
is describing how after a drug addiction he moved to a different city to start a new life. This
relates to Holden in Catcher in the Rye because after he was kicked out of school he had a hard
decision to make. He either could go to his home before his parents knew about the expulsion, or
he could run away to New York. Anthony and Holden both choose to go to the city. Also in the
song and the book, the singer and Holden turn to drugs as a way to help their lives. Obviously
that is the wrong choice, but anyways Holden, although underage, drinks as a means of an anti
depressant. ...The more depressed I got, and I decided, while I was walking and... Show more

This song fits in perfectly with how Holden is handling his problems. After being kicked out of a
private school in which his mother paid for, he delays telling her until he can get his emotions
under control. He goes to New York City and tries to get drunk to relieve his stress, as Billie Joe
Armstrong did with drugs. Am I just paranoid? Or I m just stoned. This song also talks about the
constant paranoia he faces. Holden also has to deal with being paranoid as he is clearly
insecure. It is rare that the reader will find Holden describing somebody positively. He is
constantly making shallow judgments about the people he encounters. He says, I m not
kidding, some of these very stupid girls can really knock you out on the dance floor. Before even
having a conversation with her, he already comes to the conclusion that she is a stupid girl. This
proves his insecurity because he is seeing his imperfections through others and criticizing them
for it. Unwell Matchbox Twenty Analysis This song was written from the point of view of a
depressed person, rather than a crazy person. I feel that Holden would fall into the category of a
depressed person rather than a crazy person. He states several times that he really is just lonely. He
says, What I really feel like, though, was committing suicide. I felt like jumping out the window.
This may contribute to his depression. This type of depression that he has

Joey The Frog Research Paper
Joey is a prince who reunited with princess Liaundra. The wicked queen and Prince Joey are
living on the pond as frogs. After the wicked queen was turned into a frog, and went to live in the

The first spell pushed out the familyof frogs who were living there at the time. They were moved

Homeschozophreni Analysis Of The Film Homestretch
Introduction:
The film homestretch followed three homeless teens as they were struggling to stay in school,
graduate and build a future. The film included Roque, Kasey and Anthony who were fighting the
stereotypes of homelessness. They worked were working very hard to complete their education
while they were abandoned and left alone at an early age. The induvial who I will be discussing
the theories about is Roque. Roque Sanchez came to the U.S from the Mexico at the age of 5 with
his family. His father and mother were separated. His mother married someone else, while his
father and Roque used to move every now and then to stay away from the immigration officers in
hopes of not getting caught. Roque was forced to fend for himself and ... Show more content on

The theory does describe the problem Roque was facing because, his biological family was
broken and that caused a lot of distress in Roque s life. It caused him to be homeless and have
trouble in his personal life. We also saw that after he moved in with his teacher Maria and formed
a family he started doing much better and was passionate about his studies. He also began to help
around the house and it helped him gain confidence.
Strengths perspective:
The other theory that I selected was the strengths perspective theory. The strengths perspective and
strengths based approaches offer service providers ways of working that focus on strengths, abilities
and potential rather than problems, deficits and pathologies (Stuart and rarr;, 2017). The strength
perspective teaches us that we should recognize the human capacity and self determination to work
hard to achieve their goals. In this perspective the social worker helps the client find their own
abilities to deal with their current situations.
The social worker would describe Roque s situation as someone who is having trouble in his life,
but he is willing to work hard to change his current situation. The social worker will intervene in
this situation with the attitude of collaborating with Roque to achieve what is best for him, the
social worker will help find some of the strengths, which are his will of doing better, and the help of

Aggregate Demand And Aggregate Supply
There is nothing so frustrating as not being able to answer a single question at the end of a study
week. But being able to make a brief summary, on the other hand, will steer you up. This week
work was in the domain of aggregate demand and aggregate supply: the long run and the short run,
recessionary and inflationary gaps and long run economic equilibrium, determining the level of
consumption and aggregate expenditures and aggregate demand.
I have been able to retain that aggregate demand is the total quantity of goods and services that a
household, foreign buyers, and governments will buy at a given price level. A shift to the left of the
aggregate demand indicates a fall in price, output returning to normal pushing it again to the right.
Unlike the aggregate supply which is curve showing any combination of inflation and the real
output which companies are ready to offer base on their production cost, will witness a shift to the
left in the short run as a result of price rise and falling output. In the long run, the potential output is
vertical line independent on inflation resulting in a flexible price of output and input.
Reflecting on the subject of Recessionary and Inflationary Gaps, and Long run Economic
Equilibrium, I am able to retain that recessionary gaps exist if real GDP is less than Potential real
GDP. At this point in time, the unemployment rate is greater than the natural rate of employment
cause job seekers to settle for lower wages. The situation at

Domestic Terrorism And Its Effect On Terrorism Essay
Domestic terrorism consists of violations against federal and state law that put humans into danger.
The purpose of domestic terrorism is to influence or to instill fear into the population and
government. Terrorism comes in forms of gun violence, assassinations, and destruction (1). Since
1970, there have been 2,608 attacks and 226 fatal attacks up until 2011 (3). In 1867, the
development of dynamite contributed to increasing terrorism, and radicals have used explosives to
bring attention to political issues within the country. This invention led to the Haymarket Affair,
Los Angeles Times, and the Preparedness Day bombings (2). What has further caused domestic
terrorism has been the argument over who is an American. This explains the emergence of the
Boston Tea Party and the white supremacy of the Ku Klux Klan which both occurred to claim
what being an authentic American means (3). After the Cold war, domestic intelligence and law
enforcement suppressed terrorist plots, but since the leader of al Qaeda increased website usage
in 2003, more internet terrorist sites have grown. In 2009, the FBI stated that there were
approximately 15,000 websites that advocated terrorism with 10,000 sites still active on 80% of
U.S based servers. (4) An example of an attack was the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995 which
resulted in 168 people dead and 600 people injured; the motivation for this was to show the
opposition against the U.S government by bombing the Alfred P. Murrah Federal

The Evolution Of Polar Bears
Only from the literal definition, the evolution is a process which something passes by degrees to a
different stage, especially a more advanced or mature stage. For instance, in the ancient time, it is
because the dinosaurs had already deracinated so that other animals who survived evolve in order
to comfort to the times. Among these animals, apes are a typical example of evolutionas they
gradually develop to become todays human. Nonetheless, at present, it seems that it is not
exceedingly easy to feel the existence of the phenomena of evolution. Actually, it exists in many
places, such as Arctic Polar, Alaska, and Canada etc. In Canada and Alaska, numerous grolars were
founded, which are the descendants of polar bearand grizzly bears, and this new specie is the result

The Discovery Of The Space Station
Someday, somehow, Clarke knew that she would witness the beauty of Earth. She would be
able to feel the sun warm her skin, and have the wind kiss her cheeks as she walked through a
forest. Maybe she would watch a rabbit hop out of a bush, or follow butterflies as she wandered
carelessly around the ground if those creatures were still alive from all the radiation. Her father had
always told her stories about Earth, visualizing it as a heaven for the living. It had been nearly
ninety seven years since the last humans touched the Earth s surface, and only a couple hundred
thousand had survived long enough to make it to the Arkthe space station where the last human
beings have been living in since the nuclear bombings. Had the humans not been at conflict with
one another, then maybe they would still be inhabitants of Earth. But war brought distrust, and
distrust in the other countries led to nuclear warfare. While watching the old documentaries of
the last surviving humans retelling their stories of Earth, Clarke realized how different the Ark
was, and how she would never live to her fullest until she was on the ground. The Ark was
always cold, and empty, and the oxygen she breathed felt, if she could describe it in a word,

Instant Gratification And Its Effect On Society
Instant gratification is something that everybody is used to nowadays. Whether wanting to find an
answer to a question, needing to add numbers together or finding out if a pregnancy test is positive,
answers come instantly. Most people do not realize that earlier generations did not have those
answers available in the blink of an eye. People had to wait for things. They had patience and
realized that not everything in the world is instant. Society now demands that everything should
happen right away and we should not have to wait for anything, but that is making the world full of
impatient, entitled people. Since most people do not know what it s like to not have instant
gratification most individuals take that for granted. Instant gratification has caused a lot of
problems in society, including taking away face to face communication, patience, and certainty.
Problems With Living in a Society With Instant Gratification Instant gratification has become the
social norm in this generation but is diminishing the quality of communication. Cell phones have
changed massively in the past few years, making communication weaken each time cell phones are
updated. At first, cell phones were just used for calling. Calling was the only operation that they
were capable of and most of the time calling was not even convenient on a cell phone. Although the
concept of texting has been out for decades, actual texting became available to all society in 1994

Mary Warren In The Crucible
In the Crucible there are a group of girls that go into the woods. They dance, chant, and some of

some others began to investigate the girls, because they expected witchcraft. There are many
people in this tale that I could talk about, but the one I have chosen is Mary Warren. The reason
for this is because in my opinion she really helped bring the story to the conclusion that it did.
Whether she meant to, or not. She also had a change of heart in the play, more than once. So
now we shall indulge ourselves into the significance of this character and what role she truly
plays. Mary Warren is a young girl, 18 years of age. She lived as a servant to John and Elizabeth
Procter. She is one of the many girls that went into the woods to dance . After the girls were

Comparing Inequality In Eve And Samson Agonist By...
Inequality is a struggle that women have felt since the beginning of time, and an issue that still
plagues women today. Women are consistently reduced to their looks or the tasks they are able to
complete, and often their intellect and talents are ignored. Milton grapples the topic in both of his
works, Paradise Lost with Adam and Eve, and Samson Agonists with Samson and Dalila. Both Eve
and Dalila are presented as unequal characters when compared to Adam and Samson, making them
both more susceptible to the advances of evil forces. Each womanindividually faces temptation and
fails to supersede it, causing not only the fall for themselves, but the fall for their husbands as well.
For Eve, her fall fates not only Adam but the entire humanity... Show more content on

If Milton situated the woman as equal to their husbands and as helpmates instead of companions
then the likelihood of them falling would have decreased greatly. However, because of their
inequality it opened sin up to being a viable temptation. Milton had to present them as unequal
beings to be able to justify their fall and in return ultimately place the blame on God as a whole.
Milton s central theme seems to suggest that if God would have just created men and women
equal to begin with then they would not have fallen. This is easily seen in Paradise Lost, but when
examining Samson Agonists, it is evident there as well, since Dalila is part of the Philistinians, a
race that God sent Samson to destroy, making them unequal. Therefore, it can be assumed that
Milton presents Eve and Dalila the way he does in order to justify the fall and attempt to make
sense of why humanity had to fall even though it was created by an omnipotent

leadership by allowing GAFCEL to develop and expand to become a significant market player.
2) Merger or Acquisition to defend market share. Considering two options: a) Acquire its closest

Crimes Of Pygmy Case Summary
Question One
Cephu had committed many crimes, one being what is probably one of the most heinous crimes
in Pygmy eyes, and one that rarely occurs. His first and less major sin was to refuse to share and
participate with the other hunters and families. He had gone off to make a camp and fire of his
own, even though the group was supposed to be working together and had a mutualistic
relationship. His other crime was the major one and what everyone in the camp had been waiting
for. Not only did he name a dead woman, an unheard offense but also he denied that she was his
mother. Even though there was only the most distant relationship, and that by marriage, it was
equivalent to asserting that he did not belong to the same group as Ekianga and Manyalibo and
the rest. Even though Cephu had committed a heinous crime, the case was settled simply and
effectively. He was ignored and not offered a chair and had his food taken away from him and
was ignored by the men in his camp. All of these actions may seem small but in the eyes of a
Pygmy, none of these actions/punishments were quickly forgotten. Kelemoke had also committed
a very serious crime; he had committed the crime of incest. Kelemoke tried to take refuge in a hut,
but he was turned away with angry remarks, and a burning log was thrown after him. At this point
three girls came running out of Cephu s camp, right into the middle of the clearing. They carried

Sir Richard F. Burton s Trip To Congo
Geographers are known to research both the human and physical geography of foreign lands. They
make connections of the information gathered between human and physical geography through

The Selma To Montgomery March
A devastating 18 day, 50 mile march took place countless beaten senseless, but it was worth it.
The first Selma to Montgomery march 7 1965 bloody Sunday. The march began when a prime
leader John Lewis the leader of the SNCC (Student nonviolent coordinating committee) he wanted
to try to end segregation as well as bring voting rights to blacks. Nevertheless, that s not how it
went, state troopers were ordered to wait 2 minutes before attacking the marchers, if you haven t
guessed yet that s not how it went, the state troopers attacked. Ending up in the result of brutality
hurting numerous men along with women. Spiting on them clubbing them to the extinct of jail
time in are generation, whipped, stomped on by horses, the list goes on and on. That remains
known as bloody Sunday. When someone my age (13) thinks about bloody Sunday it s vague but

So in the process he went on television and stated religious leaders to come Tuesday for their
march to Montgomery. This would begin two days after the first march to Montgomery. He made
his remark when he occurred in Atlanta. John Lewis was furies at the president Johnson saying
how can you send troops to directly protect America but not to protect marchers to Montgomery?
Now two days later the march had begun and over 2,000 people came to the event. Before that
king was told to hold the event tell the 11 of march so that they could have federal protection.
President Johnson actually spent time to support the marchers, that means he listened to john Lewis
now it was up to king to decide whether to wait to the eleventh that would be another two days. Or
arrange the march on the ninth. It was down to the king; he decides with his colleagues that the

Evangelion And Why Hideaki Anno
This particular article that I enjoy rereading from time to time is called Evangelion, and why
Hideaki Anno hates you. It s a fantastic demonstration of picking piece by piece a man s years
spiraling downhill and how he took it out on a piece of animated fiction. To give you a good idea
of how bad this was, the show was originally aired on a children s timeslot because Hideaki Anno
believed children should be displayed to how much life sucks as early as possible. It was later
moved to a more adult timeslot when people began questioning the show s incline into the
deconstruction it s famously known for. It interests me immensely that this man actually despises
the fanbase and their interests, and how he breaks down the characters into an

Why Apollo Has Changed Modern Day History
Apollo is also known as Phoebus , a well respected individual is the know god of many things. To
begin with, the god of music, as he plays a golden lyre(harp). The god plagues and of healing as
he gives the science of medicine to man. Secondly, the god of light, as he carry s the sun. Finally,
the god of truth and oracles as the patron who gave wisdom in Delphi.
Apollo had a very important task, which was to acquire his four horse chariot and drag the sun
across the sky each and every day. Furthermore a few of his famous attributes were his muscular
physique, handsome face, and his impressive locks of golden hair, only possible with his very
own herbal shampoo. Resting above his hair was a wreath made of a Laurel tree, and lastly was
known to be an archer and had a beautiful silver bow. In this report of the Greek god Apollo you
will discover the significant importance of how Apollo has changed modern day history as well as
the Roman gods time period.
Background
Apollon, Latin for Apollo, has quite a wide speard array of material to cover. To begin with let s
start with his birth, Apollo was the son of Leto, god of the Titanesses and Zeus, the god of gods
(royal parentage). He was born on the island of Delos off the coast of Palestine. He and his older
twin sister Artemis, also an Olympian, shared an aptitude for archery. His forename, Phoebus,
means bright or pure and connects him to his grandmother, the Titan Phoebe. Apollo was a wise
God, he was mostly a cheerful

The Topic Of Farming And Poverty
Writing commentary
I decided to write an article for the readers of a sophisticated scientific based magazine on the
topic of farming and poverty. As the problem of world hunger becomes more and more apparent
I wanted to write an article for what I believe is the solution to the problem. My aim was to
inform and persuade the readers to agree with my view that intensive farming is better than free
range farming. By all means, there were restrictions and bias to my argument, so in the end I
decided to make it a one sided piece. I intended my article for a more sophisticated audience who
will have at least some knowledge on the topic of poverty and farming. However, I knew that I
would cause disagreements with the readers as people have ... Show more content on

The reader may be convinced to think that the article is written by an expert on the subject, so, it
may encourage the reader to agree with me. However, my article argues strongly for one side of
the argument; my view is against those of the general public, most of which have a false belief
that free range products are better than intensive. Therefore, to support my point I included a
large photograph showing the vile conditions in a free range farm. Using this may help me to
get the reader on my side. I chose this specific picture because it demonstrates a wide variety of
senses; you can almost smell the overwhelming stench of the faeces and hear the deafening cluck
of a thousand chickens. The right side of the picture is very dark compared to the left, this could
suggest to the reader that there are dark sides to free range farming as well as the bright side that
is often advertised. The light at the end of the farm also makes the farm seem endless, and
therefore, it would seem as if there were millions of chickens all crammed into the cages. This
may encourage the reader to dislike free range farming and more likely to support my view.
I knew that the introduction had to be important; I tried to make it as engaging, appealing and
shocking as I could. In order to engage my readers, I started the article with two rhetorical question
asking the reader for their opinions on the picture. One of which is: What do you think this picture
shows? , the use of personal

The Theme Of Guilt In A Three Dog Life
A Three Dog Life is about Abigail Thomas trying to cope with her husband s traumatic head
injury, that happened because she let Rich walk Harry alone one night; which makes him acts
differently to the things that were so familiar to him. We read along as Thomas tries out new
coping mechanism; like buying a new house, new dogs and buying paintings. The purpose of this
essay is to take an analytical approach to how guiltis an important theme A Three DogLife. The
story starts off with Thomas recalling the night of the accident, this is a good opener it pulls the
reader in and peaks their curiosity. It hits the pathos appeal hard because she is pulling us in, to
find out what happened to her husband and how it affected her. As we read... Show more content on

She knew that because of her these things were happening to him. She let the guilt eat at her as
she watches him struggle. She talks about how he has good days and how he has bad days, she
can t let all the bad days get to her and she learns patience, and enjoy the good days. She used other
coping mechanisms, her only one wasn t learning to be patient with Rich. She also took up more
expensive habits, like the dogs, they did help her but it was an expensive venture that she never
talks about in the book, which could play into how financially stable they were but my paper isn
t to speak on that. She got into outsider art, which is a way that people who have suffered brain
injuries express themselves. She felt as though the painting that they did could help her find
comfort in her life. The last coping Mechanism was buying the house to be close to Rich. She
talks about how the trip back and forth was stressful, so decided to just be close to him in
general. This can be a form of Logos because anyone who ha gone through something like this,
you want to be close to the person at all times which is reasonable. The last way I will be talking
about guilt is how Abigail feels when they tell her that Rich will need around the clock care for
the rest of his life and his death. A section in this book talks about when they tell her that he needs
around the clock care, due to his injury being so bad. She knows that because of her, he ll never be

One event that has definitely impacted the American Empire was the John F. Kennedy

  • 2. How Did Edvard Munch Attempt to Visualize Intense Emotion... Question 1: How did Edvard Munch attempt to visualize intense emotion in his paintings? Discuss in relation to particular paintings. Edvard Munch is a highly influential artist, pioneering many of the ideas that informed the German Expressionist movement. The crux of his work is in the reflection the death, grief and emotion of his own experiences. Drawing from his own tortured upbringing, with the death of his father, brother and sister, as well as his own mental and physical illnesses. There are several ways in which he visualises this emotion in his work. Through form, colour and technique Munch translates his obsession with psychological states into highly striking works that have resounded through generations of artists and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Munch worked with many different styles throughout his career and the reduction of form shows the influence of the expressionists and the art he would have seen while he lived intermittently in France between 1889 and 1892. He changes focus from the representation of physical form and instead into a study of psychological experience and passion that expresses a modernity of attitude. The colours, dark in hue, but brilliant in intensity, scream of the intense emotion portrayed by Munch. His works from the turn of the century have a reoccurring colour palette. Presenting the same window to a tortured world with blood red skies, pale skinned beings, and dark mysterious corners. In one of his earlier works, The Sick Child, made after the death of his younger sister, the colour scheme is dominated by the relationship of a range of sea greens with a hot orange red. It may be suggested that the greens and reds themselves evoke the queasiness and fever of illness. The effect of the colour scheme is deepened by the fact that these colours are complementaries, which gives a dynamic effect in combination. Munch manipulates this element for emotional as well as aesthetic effect. The girl s face glows with a pale yellow light, which is reflected in the stark white of the bedhead in the background, in strong contrast to this is the dark blue black of the woman s dress adding intensity ... • 3. The Consequences Of Julius Jones And The Jonestown Massacre All across America, television sets display nine hundred and nine dead bodies. These bodies, in aluminum coffins, came over to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. Tax payers were irate at possibly having to pay for all the embalming and burial costs ( The Horror, 28). Embalming and burial costs are expensive and many people lost sympathy for cultmembers. So, people opposed paying for the consequences of the Jonestown massacre. Jim Jones realized he was losing control over the People s Temple, leading to the Jonestown massacre. Then in 1975, he uprooted his followers and isolated them in Jonestown, Guyana. Jones began instructing his followers to commit a revolutionary suicide (Twemlow 224). The People s Temple s actions concerned many family members and outsiders, which sparked Congressman Leo Ryan s involvement. Congressman Leo Ryan and some reporters were on a mission to rescue Americans from Jonestown. On November 18, 1978, Jim Jones was paranoid that his reign over Jonestown would come crashing down when some of his followers went with Congressman Ryan. Jones used a mass suicide to remain in control. Many people of Jonestown drank the poisonous Kool Aid. When people resisted, Jones loyal followers injected hesitant followers with the poison. Jones ordered the murder of Congressman Ryan and was responsible for the deaths of nine hundred and nine Americans. • 4. Economic Development And Development Of Welfare When discussing the origins of welfare states it is easy to make an assumption that the development of welfare states was in direct response to social needs brought by industrialization and economic development. In fact the early scholarship in social policy did not question the causational effect between economic development and development of welfare states. Understanding that economic development alone cannot sufficiently explain why some countries developed into full welfare states while others did not prevail until the emergence of social democratic theory and its further expansions. Based on the later studies, the economic development was a necessary cause and played the role of creating the need and the resources for social provisions while politics was sufficient condition which determined whether social needs would be addressed though creation of welfare state of other types of social provisions. Looking back in history, while economic development did not invent poverty, it change its nature by making it difficult for families to take care for the disabled, elderly, and unemployed. More specifically, it led to a decrease in labor force participation in agriculture, rapid spread of self regulating labor market, urbanization, destruction of traditional social protections, commodification of labor, and the emergence of a new social category of the laboring poor dependent on the insecure labor market. • 9. Knighthood And Chivalry In The Tales Of Marie De France The tales of Marie de France, shed light on the romantic relationships and chivalry of this time period. This is very insightful for modern people to be able to read and understand the culture of that time. Knighthood and chivalry were respected by some, but many times they were disregarded for passion. Love and marriageare largely connected to physical attractiveness of the person and the passion involved. Marriage is not a very serious commitment and will be disregarded whenever another presents themselves as a more attractive lover. Religion is not huge in the stories but can be present when looking for a lover. Magic plays a part in the Yonec and Bisclavret stories, but is not largely present throughout. In the tale of Equitan, the nature of knighthood and chivalry is shown through the relationship of Equitan and his knight. Although Equitan had said that he was a man who upheld chivalry, throughout the story he lusts, lies, and takes his knight s wife for his own. He begs her and claims being sick until she is willing to be his, and this does not shed a positive light on his chivalry and king s honor. In Milun, honor has a big place in the story. For example, Milun must go to the other country to fight the one knight who claims to be better than him to defend his honor. Although when he realizes he has been beat by him he shows respect for him because he has truly been beat. His son also shows respect when he sees his gray hair and recognizes that he had hurt an older man. This shows the good side of chivalry where the knights respected each other and good duels. The stories show that marriage and love is not regarded highly, Equitan steamrolls through his knight s trust by taking his wife and scheming to kill him. Love is presented as the desire for someone because of their looks. In the tale of Bisclavret, his wife s love and marriage is secondary to is thinking that it is weird that her husband turns into a wolf. She does not really love him or care for their marriage. She then uses a knight of her husband s to scheme to kill him by taking his clothes. This shows how easy it was in that time for people to find others who desire them and are willing to turn on the people their king. In the tale of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Team working also helps to achieve the tasks that are impossible to finish by one individual. However, if people in a group have a lot of conflicts, group work will not be able to achieve as much as we expected. There are many reasons which lead to dissatisfaction in group work such as individualism as well as conflicts in opinion and time. Initially, I had a negative view on group working because of the challenges that I had. When I was in high school, my five other friends and I used to work together in a music competition. Each member is willing to help other members in the group to complete their tasks. Our group favors description compared to evaluation. Instead of criticizing others behaviors and ideas, we often tell our feelings about problems. All the group members always encourage each other to share their opinions and feelings with the group. Even though some opinions are too conflicting, the main purpose is trying to give all the members equal opportunities to talk about their ideas. Thus, the success of the group is the consequence from the equal contributions of all the members. Besides, in most of the discussions of our group, we are oriented toward problem solving; therefore, we look for the consensus of the ideas in order to solve the problems effectively and quickly. Because our group has many members who have senses of humor, we always maintain an interesting and comfortable atmosphere to gain assertiveness in the group. Sometimes, Ngoc and Phong share their experiences of how they solve their families problems. Through perceiving more deeply about each member s own life, we have gradually gotten closer together; therefore, we are always honest and open to each other. Also, we do not criticize when a group member cannot finish his or her task as expected because there are always personal issues out of the class. In addition to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It tells the story of a group of people who are entangled in a complex web of relationships and try to work out the dynamics of their tiny society. This brings forth a load of drama that plays directly into hands of the villain of the story: Iago. He carries a huge grudge against the main character: Othello. The storyline in this play is so dramatic and complicated it can be compared to a television soap nowadays. The main characteristic of a soap is: an emphasis on family life, personal relationships, sexual dramas, emotional and moral conflict. In my opinion the setting of the play, the relationships within and Iago s role contribute to making Othello 17th century television soap. She swam over to the fountain and the queen s palace, curtsied a little in the water, and said, Your majesty. I have come to you with a humble petition. May it be your pleasure, your greatness, to turn me into a human princess? The queen looked across from the balcony straight at the swan s red beak and said simply, Why? Because, Your Majesty, I have always felt that I was born to be royal. My dear, dream on, replied the queen with great contempt. Prince Jesus was just inside the palace, but he had heard this exchange and he hopped out to give the queen his opinion. I know her, he said. She s just a silly stuck up swan. • 26. Homeschozophreni Analysis Of The Film Homestretch Introduction: The film homestretch followed three homeless teens as they were struggling to stay in school, graduate and build a future. The film included Roque, Kasey and Anthony who were fighting the stereotypes of homelessness. They worked were working very hard to complete their education while they were abandoned and left alone at an early age. The induvial who I will be discussing the theories about is Roque. Roque Sanchez came to the U.S from the Mexico at the age of 5 with his family. His father and mother were separated. His mother married someone else, while his father and Roque used to move every now and then to stay away from the immigration officers in hopes of not getting caught. The theory does describe the problem Roque was facing because, his biological family was broken and that caused a lot of distress in Roque s life. It caused him to be homeless and have trouble in his personal life. We also saw that after he moved in with his teacher Maria and formed a family he started doing much better and was passionate about his studies. He also began to help around the house and it helped him gain confidence. Strengths perspective: The other theory that I selected was the strengths perspective theory. The strengths perspective and strengths based approaches offer service providers ways of working that focus on strengths, abilities and potential rather than problems, deficits and pathologies (Stuart and rarr;, 2017). The strength perspective teaches us that we should recognize the human capacity and self determination to work hard to achieve their goals. In this perspective the social worker helps the client find their own abilities to deal with their current situations. The social worker would describe Roque s situation as someone who is having trouble in his life, but he is willing to work hard to change his current situation. The social worker will intervene in this situation with the attitude of collaborating with Roque to achieve what is best for him, the social worker will help find some of the strengths, which are his will of doing better, and the help of ... • 27. Aggregate Demand And Aggregate Supply There is nothing so frustrating as not being able to answer a single question at the end of a study week. But being able to make a brief summary, on the other hand, will steer you up. This week work was in the domain of aggregate demand and aggregate supply: the long run and the short run, recessionary and inflationary gaps and long run economic equilibrium, determining the level of consumption and aggregate expenditures and aggregate demand. I have been able to retain that aggregate demand is the total quantity of goods and services that a household, foreign buyers, and governments will buy at a given price level. A shift to the left of the aggregate demand indicates a fall in price, output returning to normal pushing it again to the right. Unlike the aggregate supply which is curve showing any combination of inflation and the real output which companies are ready to offer base on their production cost, will witness a shift to the left in the short run as a result of price rise and falling output. In the long run, the potential output is vertical line independent on inflation resulting in a flexible price of output and input. Reflecting on the subject of Recessionary and Inflationary Gaps, and Long run Economic Equilibrium, I am able to retain that recessionary gaps exist if real GDP is less than Potential real GDP. At this point in time, the unemployment rate is greater than the natural rate of employment cause job seekers to settle for lower wages. The situation at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Domestic Terrorism And Its Effect On Terrorism Essay Domestic terrorism consists of violations against federal and state law that put humans into danger. The purpose of domestic terrorism is to influence or to instill fear into the population and government. Terrorism comes in forms of gun violence, assassinations, and destruction (1). Since 1970, there have been 2,608 attacks and 226 fatal attacks up until 2011 (3). In 1867, the development of dynamite contributed to increasing terrorism, and radicals have used explosives to bring attention to political issues within the country. This invention led to the Haymarket Affair, Los Angeles Times, and the Preparedness Day bombings (2). What has further caused domestic terrorism has been the argument over who is an American. This explains the emergence of the Boston Tea Party and the white supremacy of the Ku Klux Klan which both occurred to claim what being an authentic American means (3). After the Cold war, domestic intelligence and law enforcement suppressed terrorist plots, but since the leader of al Qaeda increased website usage in 2003, more internet terrorist sites have grown. In 2009, the FBI stated that there were approximately 15,000 websites that advocated terrorism with 10,000 sites still active on 80% of U.S based servers. For instance, in the ancient time, it is because the dinosaurs had already deracinated so that other animals who survived evolve in order to comfort to the times. Among these animals, apes are a typical example of evolutionas they gradually develop to become todays human. Nonetheless, at present, it seems that it is not exceedingly easy to feel the existence of the phenomena of evolution. • 34. The Discovery Of The Space Station Someday, somehow, Clarke knew that she would witness the beauty of Earth. She would be able to feel the sun warm her skin, and have the wind kiss her cheeks as she walked through a forest. Maybe she would watch a rabbit hop out of a bush, or follow butterflies as she wandered carelessly around the ground if those creatures were still alive from all the radiation. Her father had always told her stories about Earth, visualizing it as a heaven for the living. It had been nearly ninety seven years since the last humans touched the Earth s surface, and only a couple hundred thousand had survived long enough to make it to the Arkthe space station where the last human beings have been living in since the nuclear bombings. Had the humans not been at conflict with one another, then maybe they would still be inhabitants of Earth. But war brought distrust, and distrust in the other countries led to nuclear warfare. While watching the old documentaries of the last surviving humans retelling their stories of Earth, Clarke realized how different the Ark was, and how she would never live to her fullest until she was on the ground. The Ark was always cold, and empty, and the oxygen she breathed felt, if she could describe it in a word, fake. Whether wanting to find an answer to a question, needing to add numbers together or finding out if a pregnancy test is positive, answers come instantly. Most people do not realize that earlier generations did not have those answers available in the blink of an eye. People had to wait for things. They had patience and realized that not everything in the world is instant. Society now demands that everything should happen right away and we should not have to wait for anything, but that is making the world full of impatient, entitled people. Since most people do not know what it s like to not have instant gratification most individuals take that for granted. Instant gratification has caused a lot of problems in society, including taking away face to face communication, patience, and certainty. Problems With Living in a Society With Instant Gratification Instant gratification has become the social norm in this generation but is diminishing the quality of communication. • 37. Comparing Inequality In Eve And Samson Agonist By... Inequality is a struggle that women have felt since the beginning of time, and an issue that still plagues women today. Women are consistently reduced to their looks or the tasks they are able to complete, and often their intellect and talents are ignored. Milton grapples the topic in both of his works, Paradise Lost with Adam and Eve, and Samson Agonists with Samson and Dalila. Both Eve and Dalila are presented as unequal characters when compared to Adam and Samson, making them both more susceptible to the advances of evil forces. Each womanindividually faces temptation and fails to supersede it, causing not only the fall for themselves, but the fall for their husbands as well. For Eve, her fall fates not only Adam but the entire humanity... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If Milton situated the woman as equal to their husbands and as helpmates instead of companions then the likelihood of them falling would have decreased greatly. However, because of their inequality it opened sin up to being a viable temptation. Milton had to present them as unequal beings to be able to justify their fall and in return ultimately place the blame on God as a whole. Milton s central theme seems to suggest that if God would have just created men and women equal to begin with then they would not have fallen. This is easily seen in Paradise Lost, but when examining Samson Agonists, it is evident there as well, since Dalila is part of the Philistinians, a race that God sent Samson to destroy, making them unequal. Therefore, it can be assumed that Milton presents Eve and Dalila the way he does in order to justify the fall and attempt to make sense of why humanity had to fall even though it was created by an omnipotent ... His first and less major sin was to refuse to share and participate with the other hunters and families. He had gone off to make a camp and fire of his own, even though the group was supposed to be working together and had a mutualistic relationship. His other crime was the major one and what everyone in the camp had been waiting for. Not only did he name a dead woman, an unheard offense but also he denied that she was his mother. Even though there was only the most distant relationship, and that by marriage, it was equivalent to asserting that he did not belong to the same group as Ekianga and Manyalibo and the rest. Even though Cephu had committed a heinous crime, the case was settled simply and effectively. The reader may be convinced to think that the article is written by an expert on the subject, so, it may encourage the reader to agree with me. However, my article argues strongly for one side of the argument; my view is against those of the general public, most of which have a false belief that free range products are better than intensive. Therefore, to support my point I included a large photograph showing the vile conditions in a free range farm. Using this may help me to get the reader on my side. I chose this specific picture because it demonstrates a wide variety of senses; you can almost smell the overwhelming stench of the faeces and hear the deafening cluck of a thousand chickens. The right side of the picture is very dark compared to the left, this could suggest to the reader that there are dark sides to free range farming as well as the bright side that is often advertised. The light at the end of the farm also makes the farm seem endless, and therefore, it would seem as if there were millions of chickens all crammed into the cages. This may encourage the reader to dislike free range farming and more likely to support my view.
