يعاني الناشئة في المجتمع العربي المعاصر من التمزق النفسي الذي يعاني منه الناشئة في المجتمع العربي المعاصر بسبب التناقض بين الإيمان والعلم. فالتلاميذ والطلاب يطلعون على نظريات العلم الحديث وقوانينه في المدارس والجامعات ويلقنون إلى جانب ذلك أحكام الشريعة، وتظهر المشكلة حين يقول لهم بعض المعلمين والأساتذة (لا يوجد تناقض بين الإيمان والعلم). بينما يقول لهم فريق ثان (هناك تناقض بين الإيمان والعلم فلا تصدقوا ماينافي الشرع من العلم). ويقول لهم فريق ثالث (خذوا بالعلم ولا تشغلوا بالكم بموافقته أو عدم موافقته للشرع). وهكذا يبدأ التمزق النفسي عند الناشئة في المدرسة ثم الجامعة، ويتعمق هذا التمزق حين ينغمس الناشئة في متابعة الحوار الثقافي الدائر حول العلاقة بين (النقل) و(العقل) أو بين (التراث) و(المعاصرة). ونرى أن العودة إلى الرشدية في وقتنا الراهن تمكّن بنجاح من حل مشكلة التمزق النفسي المشار إليها. ولا نقصد بالرشدية ما نسب إلى ابن رشد من محاولة التوفيق بين الدين والفلسفة، بل نقصد في المقام الأول نظريته في المعرفة الإنسانية.
