The following issues may merit further discussion and/or clarification with regard to the structural engineering approach:
•The gravity load carrying elements within the glass facades along with the provision of lateral support for the glass would require further discussion in terms of the sizes
and configuration of the structural elements to arrive at an image that would be architecturally approved.
• The spacing of vertical supports in the foyer area for the high level slabs forming the spaces around the theaters starting from elevation 784.00 and all the slabs above
spaces would require elaboration. The architectural drawings at this stage do not show any columns in those areas.
• The slab system at elevation 779.0 covering the main rehearsal room merits discussion especially if no columns are envisaged in this room. The slab would be deep and
heavy for the spans shown.
• The mitigation of seismic effects on the building that would be caused by the large cut at the South side of the building should be discussed. The building is against a
soil/rock mass in that area and consideration should be given to the ground shaking of such mass in the event of a design level earthquake.
• Wind Loading and particularly Seismic loading should be discussed in further detail for the building especially within the context of a required performance criteria that may
be established early on.
• Live loading at each level should be identified in general at this stage.
•The envisaged type of connections between the reinforced concrete stiff vertical supports and the proposed steel trusses in terms of their consideration within the overall
structural system and behavior may be discussed at this stage.
• The structural support for the theater balconies would require further discussion and clarifications.
• The configuration, extent and location of movement joints should be discussed in light of architectural requirements.
• The proposed foundations system may be discussed with regard to the expected soil investigation results and the type of data and findings required to be included in any
future detailed the soil report.
•Provide some input and clarification on the construction of the Earth Tubes shown in the HVAC panel.

The following issues may merit further discussion and/or clarification with regard to the structural engineer approach:
•The configuration of the lateral load resisting elements in relation to the size and shape of the roof truss elements may impart large torsion forces to the lateral load
resisting elements and needs to be addressed.
•The treatment of the cut area shown at the South side of the building against the adjacent hill needs clarification. Is it intended to build a retaining wall in that area and
keep a gap between the building and the adjacent hill?
•Sound transmission between the theaters and other parts of the building may require separate roofs for the auditoriums and needs to be addressed.
•The choice of seismic data for equivalent lateral static forces requires discussion perhaps within the overall seismic performance criteria to be established for the building.
•The vertical component of the seismic and wind response in relation to the roof geometry and configuration merits further discussion.
•The in-plane and out of plane structural behavior of the inclined reinforced concrete walls which provide support for the roof structure need further discussion and
clarification as they would probably be heavily stressed especially in the out of plane direction.
•The structural configuration for support system for the theater seating and balconies needs to be clarified.
•The vertical support system in the foyer area for the access stairs and surrounding slabs requires clarification.
•The columns supports for the roof truss system in terms of their height versus lateral support merit further discussion.
•The foundation system proposed requires clarifications as to why piles are chosen. The foundation strata is expected to be stiff and composed of rocky materials. The
data and results expected or required form any future soil investigation report should be addressed.
