Sports In India Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of sports in India poses a unique set of challenges, as the subject
is both broad and multifaceted. First and foremost, one must navigate through the vast expanse
of India's rich sporting history, spanning various disciplines such as cricket, field hockey,
badminton, and kabaddi, among others. The diversity of sports and their cultural significance
requires a careful selection of focus areas to ensure a comprehensive exploration within the
confines of an essay.
Researching the historical evolution of sports in India adds an additional layer of complexity.
From the pre-independence era to the post-independence surge, understanding the societal,
political, and economic factors that influenced the trajectory of sports in the country is crucial. It
demands thorough investigation into the emergence of iconic athletes, the establishment of sports
federations, and the evolution of infrastructure.
Furthermore, addressing the contemporary landscape of Indian sports necessitates an
examination of the challenges and triumphs. Discussing issues such as the lack of grassroots
development, gender disparities, and the impact of globalization on the sports scene requires a
nuanced approach. Analyzing recent achievements, like India's rise in international cricket or the
emergence of young talents in various sports, adds a layer of dynamism to the narrative.
The task is not merely about presenting facts but also about weaving a compelling narrative that
captures the essence of India's sporting journey. It requires the incorporation of anecdotes,
interviews, and personal reflections to humanize the story and make it relatable to the readers.
Balancing the technical aspects of sports analysis with the human stories behind the
achievements can be a challenging yet essential aspect of crafting a captivating essay.
In conclusion, writing an essay on sports in India demands a meticulous blend of historical
context, contemporary analysis, and a narrative that engages the reader. The writer must navigate
through a diverse range of sports, historical epochs, and societal challenges to provide a
comprehensive and insightful perspective on the topic.

The Changing Effects of One as told in Children on Their Birthdays
In Truman Capote s Children on Their Birthdays, the reader is allowed to see the
ability one person has to effect a community. Through the character of Miss Bobbit,
Capote shows all of the different effects, both positive and negative, that a young
girl was able to have on an entire town. Through the effects of Miss Bobbit, the
reader sees how a small shakeup in what is expected to be normal can benefit
something for the better.
From the offset of the story the characters lives were shown to be normal and boring.
Capote s description of life before Miss Bobbit allows the reader to see how simple
and boring the lives of the characters were. Anyway we were ... Show more content

for his mother s prize roses shows a definite change. Through the reactions of Bill
Bob and his mother, it becomes clear to the reader that this was not an act that
Billy Bob would have committed before the arrival of Miss Bobbit. Preacher s
changing is also shown in the scene with the roses. Preacher would have picked all
the roses in China too. He was as crazy about her as Billy Bob. (187, 188). The two
boys that were once viewed as the tough youngsters of the town were quickly
becoming softhearted lovers in an attempt to win Miss Bobbit s heart.
Yet it was not until later that the reader was able to see the real effect she had on
the boys. Through their infatuation with Miss Bobbit, the boys had gained a
jealousy for one another. The jealousy reached its peak when the boy s competition
resulted in a fight. That s a damn lie, said Billy Bob, and with a clean left hook he
knocked him off the Sawyer porch and jumped after him into a bed of nasturtiums.

effect that led to a temporary demise of their friendship.
Not all of Miss Bobbit s work was negative. Through her efforts with Rosalba Cat,

The Mathematical Theory Of Communication In Thomas...
According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, entropy can be defined as the degree
of disorder or uncertainty in a system. In his novel, The Crying of Lot 49, Thomas
Pynchon manipulates the definition of the scientific term entropy to manifest the
innate chaos and disorder in both a closed thermodynamic system and in the life of
the protagonist: Oedipa Maas. In the novel, Oedipa Maas explores entropywith
respect to the thermodynamic sorting of molecules in Maxwell s Demon, and the
communication information regarding the Tristero . According to Warren Weaver s,
Recent Contributions to The Mathematical Theory of Communication, there are
technical, semantic, and effectiveness problems that may distort the accuracy of
communication,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since entropy prospers in closed environments much like Oedipa s life at the
beginning of the novel, Pynchon develops the idea that the chaos in Oedipa s life is
subject to increase with the discovery of more information pointing to the existence
of Tristero. This overload of information Oedipa experiences serves as a roadblock to
her understanding of the true meaning behind the Tristero. According to Warren
Weaver, the entropy in the channel is determined both by what one attempts to feed
into the channel and by the capabilities of the channel to handle different signal
situations (Weaver, 10). Thus, when Oedipa is fed copious amounts of symbols,
words, and theories, she finds it hard to handle sorting what is real and unreal. This
confusion that Oedipa endures is a direct consequence of the noise created by
different people, symbols, and word that disrupt Oedipa s deciphering of the Tristero.
Warren Weaver comments on this noise seen in Claude Shannon s communication
transmission model, stating that, If noise is introduced, then the received message
contains certain distortions...that would certainly lead one to say that the received
message exhibits, because of the effects of the noise, an increased uncertainty... If the
information source has any residual uncertainty...then this must be undesirable
uncertainty due to noise (Weaver, 11). This undesirable uncertainty due to noise leads
Chimney Sweeper By William Blake Analysis
Sociologist Max Weber recognized that, as technology expands, as does the gap
between the lower class and rich. His studies came from watching the Industrial
Revolution take place and the social system change from feudalism to capitalism.
Similarly, William Blake, who lived in Industrial Revolution era England,
witnessed this widening gap firsthand. Commenting on the inhumane labor
practices common to the poor in 19th century England, he wrote 2 versions of a
poem called The Chimney Sweeper in different collections Songs of Innocence
(1789) and Songs of Experience (1794). With these poems, Blake comments on the
practice of using small children as chimney sweepers, drawing attention to the
inhumanity and immorality of the practice and the way it s overlooked. In the
Songs of Innocence version, Blake writes a narrative from the point of view of a
child laborer. The tone is full of youthful innocence, which harshly contrasts the
somber truth of the speaker s situation. The speaker is a young child, as implied in
clever onomatopoeia in line 4, Could scarcely cry weep! weep! weep! weep! In
these lines, the speaker means both literally a weep, as well as the word sweep,
which, if said by a young child, may sound like weep. With this clever word choice,
Blake invites readers to profoundly pity the poor child, as he is so young that he
cannot even speak properly, yet sent to his death anyway. The child s innocence
continues to be of presence, shaping the poem. In later
Physical And Psychological Effects Of Depressants
Drugs are substances that have physical and psychological effects on the body. Once
an individual has taken drugs multiple times they start to build a tolerance. When
tolerance is built an individual will up the dosage of the drug. Now the individual
will be addicted to the drug. People are addicted to drugs to compliment physical and
psychological dependence. There are many different types of drugs such as
psychoactive drugs, stimulants, and hallucinogens. Psychoactive drugs are drugs that
affect conciseness, mood, and your thoughts. Depressants are a type of psychoactive
drug. Physical effects of Depressants are Lowered blood pressure, Poor concentration,

Some of the most common stimulants are methamphetamine, caffeine, nicotine,
cocaine, and Ecstasy. Methamphetamine is a highly addictive stimulant drug. Its
physical effects include disturbed sleep patterns, Nausea, and Bizarre, erratic,
sometimes violent behavior. Methamphetamine increases the amount of dopamine,
which results in increased chemicals in the brain. Methamphetamine is a dopamine
agonist. Caffeine is a CNS stimulant. It is the world s most consumed drug. Some
physical effects include high blood pressure, rapid heartbeat, and hyperglycemia.
Caffeine binds to our brain s adenosine receptors; preventing the chemical from
binding with the receptors and making us tired. (This is what caffeine does to your
brain, 2014) Caffeine is a receptor antagonist. Nicotine is a highly addictive chemical
substance present in tobacco. Some physical effects include heart disease, stroke, and
depression. The nicotine molecule is shaped like a neurotransmitter called
acetylcholine. Acetylcholine and its receptors are involved in many functions,
including muscle movement, breathing, heart rate, learning, and memory. They also
cause the release of other neurotransmitters and hormones that affect your mood,
appetite, memory, and more. When nicotine gets into the brain, it attaches to
acetylcholine receptors and mimics the actions of acetylcholine. (How Does
Nicotine Act in the Brain? 2015) Nicotine is an agonist to ACH. Cocaine is a highly
addictive drug synthetically derived from coca. Some physical effects of cocaine
include increased heart rate, body temperature, and increased rate of breathing.
Normally, dopamine is then recycled back into the transmitting neuron by a
specialized protein called the dopamine transporter. If cocaine is present, it attaches to
the dopamine transporter and blocks the normal recycling process, resulting in a
buildup of dopamine in the synapse, which contributes to the pleasurable effects of
cocaine.

As they make the deal, they are off to go look for the knife. As Will is walking

Suddenly, Will looks over at the tree stump and spots a Shiny Knife strangely
sitting in the tree. As Will spotted this Shiny Knife, he is compulsive to see if this

a shopkeeper, an old newspaper headline about a safari accident, a hooded fox ranting
about toenails and a drinking well located in a creepy place. As he is aware, he has

Civilian Conservation Corps and the Great Depression
Essay
Civilian Conservation Corps and the Great Depression
Our greatest task is to put people to work. This is no unsolvable problem if we face it
wisely and courageously. It can be accomplished in part by direct recruiting by the
government itself, treating the task as we would threat the emergency of war, but at
the same time, through this employment, accomplishing greatly needed projects to
stimulate and recognize the use of our national resources.
Franklin D. Roosevelt
March 4, 1933 Franklin Delano Roosevelt indeed turned the lives of many young
male Americans around. During a time when our economy was in the greatest
depression in U.S. history, he gave them hope and a light at the end of the tunnel by

We can eliminate to some extent at least the threat that enforced idleness brings to
spiritual and moral stability, in his message to Congress. On March 31, 1933
Roosevelt signed the bill into law and just six days later, the CCC was formed. His
ultimate goal was to have 250,000 men in the forest in just three short months.
(www.sos...) The CCC administration consisted of a director, Robert Fechner, and an
advisory board of representatives from the Departments of War, Agriculture, Interior,
and Labor. With the help of local boards, the Department of Labor selected the
enrollees. The War Department housed, clothed, and fed the men, and organized and
administered the camps. The Department of Agriculture and Interior planned the
work projects. (Smith)

Silence In Krapp s Last Tape
Silence as a Character in Krapp s Last Tape Krapp, a cantankerous old man
attempting to relive his best years by listening to a tape he recorded on his thirty
ninth birthday in Beckett s Krapp s Last Tape , constantly pauses and allows silence
to overwhelm him and his thoughts. By allowing the invasion of silence into the play,
the spotlight is taken off of Krapp in a one man play supposedly about Krapp, as he
cannot maintain controlat the most basic level. The play begins and concludes with
silence, and therefore silence is the first characterthe audience meets in the play,
demonstrating its importance in controlling Krapp and his actions through the story.
Throughout the play, silence constantly appears, whether in namesake or in the form
of relentless pauses in Krapp s speech, and dominates Krapp and his language. Krapp,
in constantly submitting to the ever present enemy of silence, demonstrates that he
has no control over the story that is supposed to center around himself, and that
silence is the character to overwhelm Krapp because it represents his fundamental
flaw, his loneliness. The play opens on stage directions describing Krapp s den, and
does not introduce the only material character in the story until four lines in (247).
When Krapp, the main character, is introduced and described as an unkempt man, it
is revealed immediately that he cannot take care of himself. Although the play is
focused around and named after Krapp, he cannot hold attention upon
Comparing Aquatic Uncle And Finding Nemo
In Both the Aquatic Uncle and Finding Nemo the plot and main characters revolve
around fish and their interactions with the sea/ocean. Though the main characters
of the both stories may be fish they share qualities and values that we all have or
qualities that we know others have. In Finding Nemo the story is built around
Marlon s son, Nemo finally growing up and going to some aquatic exploratory
school. Marlon is apprehensive about this, and his apprehension leads his son to
being captured by a human leading Marlon to search the ocean for his son. Along
this journey he is accompanied by a very forgetful fish named Dory, he teach Marlon
trust which later leads Marlon to his son Nemo and finally letting him grow up. In

Throughout the book the family tries and continuously fails as the old fish is
stubborn. One day the elder fish meets Qfwfq s fiancГ©e Lll and tells her the
wonders of the ocean and Qfwfq feels embarrassed by him as his fiancГ©e enjoys
the elder fish s company. Qfwfq tries to avoid his uncle till one day his fiancГ©e

the ending the moral I drew from these two stories are that our main characters
struggle with both being committed to their inner selves, accepting and trusting
Augustus s Res Gestae And The Juvenile Satire
Throughout both readings, the reader gets two drastically different accounts on how
Rome was under Augustus. Through Augustus s writing he depicts himself as being
a very fair and humble ruler, one who is fair to all gives opportunities to his enemies.
While on the other hand, the Juvenile Satire s depict Rome as a very dark place, with
Augustuss being a horrible ruler and ruining everything good about Rome. Having
these two depictions of Rome during the rule of Augustus is hard to see which one is
truthful. Augustus humbles himself and gives factual evidence along with dates,
while the JuvenalSatire absolutely destroy anything good about Augusts. Taking that
into account the Rome in Augustus Res Gestae would be the closest depiction of
what the real Rome was truly like during this time, this is because the reader cannot
look at the Satires without knowing that the writer truly hated Augustus and therefore
couldn t give an unbiased account on the events occurring during those times. In the
Res Gestae written by Augustus himself the reader can find that many times
throughout the writings that Augusts is trying to keep a historical account of all the
great things he has done, while at the same time staying humble. I rebuilt the Capitol
and the theater of Pompey, each work at enormous cost, without any inscription of
my name. Here Augustus writes about an amazing deed he did, but staying humble
and trying not to make Rome only about him, he rebuilds it and keeps it as it
Giving Is The Best Communication Rhetorical Analysis

about giving help to others in need and have a good heart. This message from the
phone company, True Move H , affects the audience by having individuals consider
on communicating with a positive approach of giving assistance to people living with
struggles. Throughout the video, it tends to show appeals to emotion by beginning
the story full of pity, and companionship, with an ending of expressing gratitude. The
company tends to sell an idea to the audience instead of selling the product itself.

help is always giving. Another metaphorical way that is applied in the actors is the
doctor role playing as the loyal customers. In the video, the doctor repays the kind
shopkeeper by paying the medical bill 30 years ago for the time of giving him the
three pack of painkillers and one veggie soup. The actor represents as the
customers are able to give back to the company for their loyalty of paying phone
bills on time or keep a close relationship with the company. Since the doctor has paid
the medical bill 30 years ago, this also falls back on customers who have stayed with
the phone company for more than one year. Lastly, as we mention two metaphors in
the actors, an object such as the medical bill can represent the phone company s
monthly payment. This informs the customers that when purchasing a phone, there
are monthly payments for a leasing service which must be paid occasionally and to
also keep track within the contract. These metaphors are included in the video to

Comparing Structure And Culture Of The Same Industry
Essay
1.Compare structure and culture of two or more firms in the same industry. Which
would you prefer to work for?
The two firms being compared were google and apple, both firms dominate the
intersection of technology and consumer access. In addition they both compete across
a huge range of sub industries such as computing software, hardware, operating
systems, applications and web browsing amongst others. However each firm takes a
different approach from an organizational perspective.
GOOGLE
Google Inc. is an American multinational technology company specializing in internet
related services and products. It was founded on September 1998 by Larry Page and
Sergey Brin, whilst the current C.E.O is Sundar Pichai.
Organizational Structure
This refers to how activities such as task allocation, coordination and supervision are
directed towards achievement of organizational goals, therefore it seeks to define a
way an organization conducts its business, treats its employee, customer and wider
community. Moreover, Google represents a cross functional structure also known as
matrix or flat structure. This means that employees, groups or teams can bypass
middle management and report directly to the top management, one being the CEO,
Sundar Pichai.
Organizational Culture
Organizational Culture is based upon a system of shared meaning, held by a group of
members that distinguishes one organization from the other. Therefore Google s

Anheuser Busch, The Largest Beer Distributing Company
Of...
Anheuser Busch is the largest beer distributing company in the world. This is
because over the years dating back to 1852 they have been pioneers in both their
product production and distribution. Over the years they have faced a lot of criticism
and setbacks. Most notably during Prohibition from 1920 through the early 1930s. In
2008 they were bought by the European company InBev and currently hold 49.6% of
the market share. Today through the modern era they have also been one of the most
successful companies when it comes to marketingtheir products.
After World War II, Anheuser Busch entered into a time of prosperity and growth. In
1955, August A. Busch, Jr. made a personal television appearance to introduce the
first successful new beer brand since Prohibition, Busch Bavarian. To help market the
brand, August Jr. tied Busch to America s national pastime: baseball.
In the 1950s, Anheuser Busch tapped into the growing medium of television and
became the first brewery to sponsor a network television show, The Ken Murray
Show, on CBS in 1950. Popular campaigns, such as Pick a Pair, which urged
customers to buy not one but two six packs at a time, helped make Anheuser Busch
the leading U.S. brewer in 1957 a position it retains today.
In the 1970s, advertising featuring memorable slogans helped keep Anheuser Busch
s products in the forefront of consumers minds. Budweiser s 1979 This Bud s for You
campaign saluted everyday life, while late 1970s and early 1980s
Aladdin Character Analysis
Analysis:
Jasmine is a fifteen year old female princess from a place called Agrabah which is
located in a desert in the Middle East. She is a princess by decent as she is the
daughter of the Sultan. In the movie she must choose a suitor in three day before her
birthday as it is the day she and her suitor will become the Sultan and the Sultan s
wife.
She was the first of the princesses to have an outgoing, stubborn, opinionated and
independent personality. This is shown when she disagrees with the marriage law and
at the end of the movie when she obliterated the law. She also gets rid of the law that
states a princess cannot marry a street rat causing her to be able to marry Aladdin. She
is also kind as demonstrated when she takes an apple and gives it to a hungry child.
Jasmine was the sixth princess to grace our screens and she did so in 1992 in the
movie Aladdin. Aladdin is about a street rat who is kind of heart, which is shown
when he gives the bread he merely escaped death to retrieve, to a little girl and boy
he sees rummaging through the trash to find food. Aladdin re enters the town from
the back alleys and finds a peasant girl (Jasmine in disguise as she ran away from
the palace) who has just stolen from a store so that she could give a hungry street
child some food. She states to the clerk that she doesn t have any money but will go
back to the palace to retrieve some but he doesn t believe her and is just about to

Examples Of Conformity In To Kill A Mockingbird
Don t be a conformist. Don t be common. Be an individual. Conformity, although
prevalent in society past and present, is never the answer. As individuals, we were
made to be unique. Our insight alone is greater than the elementary principles of
the crowd. However, if we conform to societal beliefs, as many of the racists did in
To Kill a Mockingbird(Harper Lee), then what are we? Uneducated, crowd pleasing
citizens who won t form our own values. The inability to form our own values

In To Kill a Mockingbird , sexism is a prevalent issue that has yet to be tackled. In
Chapter 4, Scout relates a comment made by her brother, Jem, saying, I was not so
sure, but Jem told me that I was being a girl, that girls always imagined things, that
s why other people hated them so, and if I started behaving like one I could just go
off and find some to play with (Lee, 54). This instance is one of many in which
women are being degraded by fellow males. Due to the constant and never ending
harassment by Jem, Scout is convinced that acting like a girl is unfavorable,
seldom wearing dresses or practicing ladylike qualities. This issue of sexism is still
very much present in today s society, because, based upon an article published by
the National Partnership for Women Families, In Kentucky, median annual pay for
a woman who holds a full time, year round job is $33,704 while median annual pay
for a man who holds a full time, year round job is $42,203. This means that women
in Kentucky are paid 80 cents for every dollar paid to men, amounting to an annual
wage gap of $8,499 ( Kentucky Women and the Wage Gap ). With this difference in
pay rates between men and women, Kentucky women lose a combined total of

Television Program Unfit For A Young Kid
One of my fondest moments growing up, besides curling up in my mothers arms
as she cuddled me, was watching reruns of Tom Jerry. Some parents would
question my mother s choice of letting me watch such a violent cartoon at the
tender age of three since it displayed a lot of unforgivingly violent moments such
as: how many chokes and gags Tom performed on Jerry and vice versa. It is a tough
question to answer, as is the question of whether Tom and Jerry was considered
excessively violent television programunfit for a young kid. However, in all honesty,
it is up to the parents of the child to regulate what they believe personally to be the
best fit for a young child to watch. There is a huge difference between now and
then: parents have much more power on regulating what their children see on TV
with the technology of parental control that started surfacing recently which did
not exist in my time. In this context, many people believed, and probably still do,
that the government should have acted as a surrogate for parents whose only
control of the TV was the power button. Today, parents can filter or tailor TV
programs in majority of ways like the V chip for example, which allows certain
programs blocked off if the parents deem it so or based on ratings. There is also
another avenue like the cable satellite boxes that exist today which offer a vast
variety of screening tools to prevent children from exploring televisionchannels or
programs a parent might feel too

we should do activities that we have a passion for and never let it go. With an array
of rhetorical devices such as repetition and similes, she effectively persuades the
audience.
She uses similes in the essay like this one to help the audience to not give up on
something so easily the man could in no way pry the tiny weasel off, and he had to
walk half a mile to water, the weasel dangling from his palm, and soak him off like a
stubborn label. This simile is effective because it helps form an image
Essay On Soul Tour
On the 23 of September 2017 around 7:30pm I went and saw Tim McGraw and
Faith Hill preform their Soul 2 Soul tour at the Sprint Center in Kansas City,
Missouri. I have never seen either of the two preform live in concert only on shows
like the Country Music awards until this date. Having been a fan of country musicand
growing up in a family who has always been fans of this genera of music, I have
listened to them both since and have been a huge fan of them each since. I wanted
to see them live not only being a fan of the two artists separately, but also this is the
first time they have toured together in quite a while, if not the first, so it would not
only be a once in a lifetime event but also a chance to see two of my favorite artists...

It seemed at the start of the show they sang songs that where at the start of their
music careers and progressed through their career. They sang each song as a duet
no matter if it was a Tim or Faith song. My favorite song of the night was Tim s
Stay Humble and Kind and Faith s I need you , which was an encore song. During
the encore everyone thought that the show was over, but Tim came out into the
Stadium seat and Faith walked through the floor seats and they sang. The special
effects added even more to the experience. I would go back and see the same exact
show if I had the chance. The crowd was a very respectful crowd. For me it did not
seem to be the stereotypical crowd that you would imagine at a summer concert that
this was. People where up and singing and dancing to the music and where having
an overall good time listening to the music. The crowd ranged from little kids to
adults, but everyone was almost in unison with the music, it s a weird thing to
experience. From where my family where sitting we did not see that much alcohol
being drank and even less intoxicated people. With this you could really enjoy the
show without having to deal with annoying drunk fans. If you accidently bump into
someone they where respectful and apologized. You could talk to your family and
Tim and Faith would encourage you to sing along to the music by stopping mid song
and you would sing without them.
Why Do Youth Sports Become Too Intense
What is the most successful and consistent youth sports organization? Pop Warner is
the largest, oldest, and most intense youth football, dance, and cheer organization in
the United States. A staggering 36 million kids join youth sport organizations
annually. Out of those millions and millions of athletes, females make up 52%; with
a strong chance of those young ladies may develop a dreadful disease known as,
osteoporosis. Parents are calling for the De organizing of youthsports. Even though,
you have some parents, that who will go out and spend literally hundreds and
thousands of their own hard own money for their organization. Eventually, the
constant growth of intensity will cause the children to seldomly lose the love of the
game. Are youth sports are becoming way too intense? Yes, youth sports
organizations are causing osteoporosis in female bones, causes children to apply there
all and get nothing in return, and the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My research proves that these youth sports organizations are so becoming a bit too
intense. Children should not be allowed to participate in the common youth sports
we know today, until the age of 13. Seeing that, I know myself and I know if that
was me, that child that was being held out of sports until I m a teenager, my heart
would be torn into pieces. Regular youth sports organizations consist of a few
teams, probably parents with no real coaching experience as the head coach, and
children not having any fun. The real joy of youth sports comes from playing
alongside with your friends, not from bias and critical parents. That s why the call for
the De organization of youth sport are on a raise, athletic activities should resemble
entertaining pick up games. Also, children would be provided a safe playing
environment, but would be allowed to manage their own games and, as a result,
begin to develop those personal skills organization, conflict resolution, leadership, and
Hands-On Science With Squishy Circuit Analysis
In the two articles, Energy Story, Conducting Solutions and the video Hands On
Science with Squishy Circuits are similar because they all talk about how important
electricity. They all have something to do with science and electricity. They talk
about the importance of it and they re all involved with science and electricity. The
stories and videos all talk about what electricity is and how it is important they also
teach you about it. All of these stories/video have all been informative.
The differences between Energy Story, Conducting Solutions, and Hands On Science
with squishy circuits are those two are articles and the other one is a video. Also
The Energy Story talks about what is inside of an atom which are neutrons protons
and electrons. When Conducting Solutions talk about ions. Like what they are what s

Conducting Solutions is important in life because it apart of science. If you want to
be a scientist, then you would need to know what conducting solutions is. This article
also talks about ions and electrical currents. Some demonstrations of this are ammonia
vinegar mixed with molecules solutions and conduct electricity. Some water contains
ions which conducts electricity really well Conducting Solutions is really important
to know.
The video Hands On Science with squishy circuits is about when this woman and
her student Sam learn to make play dough turn into science and it s still fun. For
example, they make a sushi play dough and they get electricity lights and you need
salt and sugar to make the lights light up. In conclusion, all of these stories are very
similar and yet different. Like the Energy Story talks about how important electricity
is and how it can affect our lives. These stories give out a lot of information and they
can help us with our daily
Conflict Management Style Analysis
My conflict management style is best characterized as avoiding. It is best
described as not paying attention to the conflict or pretending it does not exist.
People who use the avoiding strategy generally keep quiet during a disagreement as
they view speaking up as not worthwhile and believe little will result from it. This
accurately describes my style with people I am not familiar with, but it is wrong for
people that I am close to. My roommate, who I was randomly assigned with, made it
a habit of coming in late each night. Coming in at midnight was early for him. I
avoided saying anything to him for approximately a month. After getting to know
him, I felt comfortable bringing up the subject. He brushed it off the first time, and
Volunteering In High Schools
J.J. Watt, an American football defensive end for the Houston Texans, once said, My
mom taught me from a young age to give back and volunteer any chance you get.
(Brainyquote). Despite gaining all the fame and money from the NFL (National
Football League), the defensive end believes in the power and the potential of
volunteeringby altruistically helping out Hurricane Harvey victims with necessary
supplies such as water, food, and other basic needs (USA Today). There certainly
has to be a sort of flare that ignites the heart of a volunteer in order to selflessly aid
others, as exemplified by Watt. Yet, that aspect of community service is presently
vague among many high schools. Currently, many high schools require students to
volunteer for a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately one major question arises from this obligation. Does mandatory
volunteering truly invoke the spirit of volunteering? Selective colleges, in general,
are more stringent than they were in the past by the recruiting process. In fact, the
admission committees of these respective colleges accurately discern inadequate
applications from powerful ones, especially in relationship to the commitment level
of community service. Passion for community service is a vital indicator for
recruiting. They desire students who strongly dedicate themselves to volunteer with
something that coincides with their interests or major. However, mandatory
volunteering generates a belief that community service is a hindrance and a deliberate
waste of time towards obtaining a diploma. The embodiment of community service
diminishes as these educational institutions continue to exercise their power to
regulate civic engagement. Thus, selective colleges are likely to identify and reject
those who only fulfill the negative aspects of mandatory
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Repeaters
In order to accomplish each of the above tasks there can be various devices used for
this purpose they are repeaters, bridges, switches, routers and gateway. Each of these
devices will be discussed below along with their advantages, disadvantages and
specifications.
1.Repeaters are electronic devices that receive a single and modify it into higher
level or power signal and then retransmit so it can travel or cover longer distances
hence in a way it regenerate, amplifies or reconstruct a signal. A repeater functions
in OSI model at the physical layer and it is transparent to all the protocols that are
operating in the layers above the physical layer. As repeater cannot differentiate
between noise and data hence with data noise is also amplified. There are some
advantages and disadvantages of repeaters:

Organic Food For Americans
Organic is derived from living matter. Food is what a living thing consumes. If
humans are living and healthy, and have the choice to eat living healthy foods.
Would that not be the best choice to make. Eating an apple straight from the tree.
People on television do it all the time, but stores do not always have those farm fresh
apples in the home. If not for the nutrients, but the taste alone, organic foods should
be made affordable for all social classes.
As much as Americans always talk about getting fit and eating healthy, the majority
are not able to afford those select foods. Many people see organic food as a big dollar
sign. For as long as I can remember, organic has been synonymous with affluence and
conscious consumption (McMillan). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everyone sees the organics as for the rich right, but what if that is not how it
actually works. Respected chef and food advocate Alice Waters argued that
shoppers make the choice between organic grapes and Nike shoes two pairs ,
(McMillan). If this is the case the public is fooling society into thinking that the
weight of the issue is in price when in reality it is the product. People would much
rather the new shoes over the healthier food any day. Shops can change the price of
the product all they want, but they cannot change the mind of the shopper. Changes
have already been made to make organic food more affordable, yet the perception is
the same. Higher classes get better food, lower classes cannot afford the better
The Global Spread Of Oil Drilling
Biagio Pietrangeli Ms. Schonweise Academic English III 11 May 2016 Oil
Drilling The global spread of oil drilling is connected to the reasons why oil was
first exploited in the first place; it was plentiful, it had the highest energy density
per weight, it was not already being exploited. Chief to the purpose of this paper on
oil drilling lies in the words was and had. The fact that those words are in the past,
and the idea that things superior to oil have come along, is something that needs
to be brought up more often. The fact is that oil, as a resource, is simply out of
date. The addiction that humanity has to black gold is unprecedented in the
history of mankind, and the reasons why this addiction is more dangerous than any
standard addiction are numerous. Addiction. Usually, this phrase conjures up
images of alcohol, syringes, and poverty. The addiction that always appears in the
background, and is not pointed out nearly as much, is in the car. Oil, the most
addictive substance yet known, is used for everything. A solid form of the
substance is used to hold water and food. A different form is used for the clothing
on a person s back. Refined liquid versions drive cars, planes, ships, and rockets.
The computer this has been typed on might as well be a barrel of oil, with the
keyboard, mouse, monitor, and parts of the tower all being different forms of oil.
This addiction, and the desire to make more things out of the stuff, incessantly drains
what reserves there
Lower The Drinking Age
Should the Drinking Age be Lowered from Twenty One to a Younger Age
When people think of drinking, they think of fun games and parties. However, this
depiction is wrong. When individuals under twenty one drink, consequences emerge.
In the United States, the minimum legal drinking age (MLDA) is twenty one.
According to the National Highway Traffic Administration (NHTSA), the legal
drinking age set at twenty one saves about 900 lives on the road annually (James C.
Fell). By having the drinking age at twenty one, the amount of alcohol consumed
decreases. Less drinking results in a drop in potential risks and dangerous acts often
associated with alcohol. Individuals under the age of twenty one are not mature
enough to make good choices. Therefore, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The V-Chip Essay
The V Chip
What is a V chip? This term has become a buzz word for any discussion evolving
telecommunications regulation and television ratings, but not too many reports
define the new technology in its fullest form. A basic definition of the V chip; is a
microprocessor that can decipher information sent in the vertical blanking of the
NTSC signal, purposefully for the control of violent or controversial subject matter.
Yet, the span of the new chip is much greater than any working definition can
encompass. A discussion of the V chipmust include a consideration of the technical
and ethical issues, in addition to examining the constitutionally of any law that might
concern standards set by the US government. Yet in the space provided for... Show

The NTSC signal includes extra information space known as the subcarrier and
Vertical blanking interval. As explained in the quotation from Mr. Marquis, the V
chips will use a certain section of this space to send simple rating numbers and
points that will be compared to the personality settings in the chip. Many new
technologies are being developed for smart TV or data broadcast on this part of the
NTSC signal. Basically the V chip will severely limit the bandwidth for high
performance transmission of data on the
NTSC signal. There is also to be cost to this new technology, which will be passed
to consumers. Estimates are that each chip will cost six dollars wholesale and
must be designed into the television s logic. The V chip could easily push the price
of televisions up by twenty five or more dollars during the first years of production.
The much simpler solution of set top boxes allows control for those who need it and
allow those consumers who don t to save money and use new data technology.
Another cost will most definitely be levied to television advertisers for the upgrade of
the transmitting equipment. Weather the V chip encoding signal is added upstream
of the transmitter or directly into uplink units and other equipment intended for
broadcast; this cost will have to compensated for in advertising sales and prices. The
V chip regulation may also require another staff employee at most stations to
effectively rate locally

Please whatever you do don t let the depressing facts about the dollar keep you from
making money in 2008. What the pessimistic press isn t telling you is how you can
profit from the lowest dollar in 15 years. There is a extraordinary opportunity
heading your way if you know how to seize it.
But first let me explain how the falling dollar really works. Then you ll see with
your own eyes how you can profit. A falling dollar does two things:
* Makes foreign imports more expensive
* Makes US exports cheaper on the world market
The chain reaction not only increases sales of U.S. goods around the world but also
creates more jobs for Americans. The end result increases the profits of U.S.
multinationals.
And that s just the half of it.
Because a cheaper dollar makes foreign products more expensive, Americans buy
more American goods as well creating even more U.S. jobs. On a purely
psychological level, it does even more than that: It creates greater investor and
consumer confidence, as more Americans are working, more consumers are
Feminist Issues In Crime Fiction
Feminist Issues in Crime Fiction
Bronwen Levy discusses issues in women s crime fiction, written by women or for
women in her article Introduction to Marele Day: Reading Women s Crime Fiction,
Some Problems . She thoroughly discusses authors in the genre, such as Agatha
Christie (Levy В¶1) and cites other critics on the subject, such as Sherri Paris (В¶5).
By bringing in other authors and critics on the subject, she precisely provides
objectivity with other viewpoints. Levy did well in meeting the basic goals of
literary criticism.
Levy does use key terms from literary criticism accurately. In the first paragraph, she
introduces her thesis: a binary opposition has been in operation in both dominant
versions of the crime fiction genre and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In doing so, she does use carefully worded claims to advance her argument. In her
second page, she begins with the claim we could usefully start by refusing the
orthodoxy, even among feminists, of seeing crime fiction as inherently, or even an
historically masculine form (Levy В¶4). This is the first real paragraph in which
she begins to advance her thesis. In later paragraphs she continues with this notion
and says, together with not seeing crime fiction as necessarily masculine, we could
also use the term genre more carefully and flexibly, particularly given the current
critical interest in genre theory (В¶5). This carries out the idea of crime fiction not
being specifically masculine, but it begins to change the discussion to the genre
itself, not whether it is masculine or feminine. The next paragraph begins with, while
a knowledge of the histories and literary possibilities of various genres is useful for
readers and for writers, it is important not to become victims of an inflexible,
ahistorical, understanding of these forms (В¶6). These three claims show that Levy
plainly advances her claims to advance her argument, subtly transitioning from one
topic to the

An Analysis of the Characters Relationship Development in Roman Holiday from
the Perspective of Politeness Principle 1. Introduction Roman Holiday is a classical
romance comedy film in which a reporter falls in love with a runaway European
princess. As a very influential film, Roman Holiday makes a deep impression on the
audience with its funny plots and expressive dialogues. However, most of the critics
attribute its success to the plot arrangement and actors performance. As far as the
author concern, the film dialogues also plays an important role. Moreover, many
scholars, who are engaged in linguistic studies, begin to apply linguistic approach to
analyze film dialogues, the results are interesting and inspiring. Some critics... Show

positive and negative sub maxims: Minimize the cost to other. Maximize the
benefit to other. In the film, there are many conversations observing this maxim.

Another Sad Love Song
In Khalid s R B song Another Sad Love Song Khalid expresses the impact an ex
lover had on him. Khalid uses metaphors throughout the entire song to help convey
all of the pain caused by his ex. In the second line of the song, Khalid sings, You
cut me deep and left me wide open . Since this metaphor is used in the second line
of the song, Khalid seems to immediately portray his ex as someone who attacked
him. Although Khalid never says what his ex did to him, an inference can be made
that his ex treated him miserably. Khalid implies his ex left him incredibly vulnerable
and emotionally scarred. In the next line, Khalid sings, I fought the demons that lie in
between us . This line of the song seems to hint at the previous line. Perhaps Khalid
Ethnicity Creates Inequality in the Labor Market
In my opinion, the various kind of ethnicity in London creates some inequality in
labour market and health. The ethnicity is de1fined as a process of self definition
arising from inside a group. A way in which individuals define their personal identity
and a type of social stratification that emerges when people form groups based on
their real or perceived origins. (Dictionary of Human Geography, 5th Edition). Firstly,
the inequality in minority ethnicity group labour market is one significant existing
factor of Londons socially inequality. There were a large amount of migrant from
Africa, Pakistan, India and south Asia from 1950s to 1970s. It might be a result of
British colonisation in some Asian and African countries. It provides a convenience
for those residents in the colony to come to England and worked. However, most of
them didn t accept higher education or some skill training; therefore they could only
do the unskilled, manual and low paid jobs which the local British residents no longer
wanted to do. After few decades development, the working and living condition of
minority ethnicity group is well developed and getting more optimistic, they
gradually get higher paid jobs and the working environment is becoming better as
well. For instance, many second generation minorities from Indian, Ugandan Asian
and Chinese backgrounds have done well at school, and have gone on into successful
managerial and professional careers in pharmacy, accountancy, medicine, banking
The Pros And Cons Of Mass Shootings
The First Amendment of the Constitution says that the Congress cannot make a
law that forces people to follow one religion or prohibit free speech. It also says that
people have the right to hold peaceful assemblies to make a change. This allows
people to have opinions and express them freely as long as they are peaceful.
The article connects to the First Amendment because the NFL players are protesting
what they believe in and using freedom of speech. If Congress made a law to throw
players in jail who kneeled during the national anthem it would violate the United
States Constitution. But, while the First Amendment protects them from being sent to
jail, they could still be fired from the NFL. By this point, however, it would be ...

This article talks about Venezuela s President NicolГЎs Maduro wanting to rewrite
the country s constitution, originally written in 1999. The exact changes that would
be made to the document are not known, but citizens and leaders of both Venezuela
and the United States, including President Trump, believe it will make the
government too much like Cuba s. Cuba has a communist government that controls
everything. There will be a vote that many people plan on boycotting, and there have
been many protests from all the people who do not want the President of Venezuela
to go through with the changes. These strikes are dangerous and have ended up
killing many people.
The Twenty Sixth Amendment of the Constitution reduces the voting age to eighteen
years old. It says that a citizen who is eighteen or older cannot be denied the ability
to vote by any state because of their age. Until this, in most states, citizens had to be
twenty one years old to vote.
The article and this amendment connect in certain ways. Many Venezuelans do not
like their President s plan to make changes to their country s constitution. If
something like this were to happen in the United States, and citizens were angry at
the idea, the people s voice would need to be heard. With the voting age at eighteen
years old, more people could vote against the plan to show the government just how
many citizens disagree with making changes to the

Signal Corps Enhances American Civil War Essay
Signal Corps Enhances American Civil War The American Civil War is debatably the
first modern warfare in American history (Hagerman, 1988, XI). The Civil War was
the beginning of a new era, the contemporary operational environment. Field
commanders had to deal with conditions, influences, and circumstances that affect the
utilizations of militaryforces. Commanders could no longer rely on past experiences
to determine future outcomes. Commanders had to take variables other than military
forces into consideration. Field commanders during the American Civil Warhad to
deal with several factors that affect the conditions, influences, and circumstances on
the battlefield: national will, nature and stability of the state, military capabilities,
economics, sociological demographics, information, physical environment, time, and
technology. Commanders had to focus on all aspects of the operational environment
to effectively employ military forces.
Field commanders had difficulty exercising mission command over large armies and
could not deliver critical information across the battlefield in a timely manner.
Commanders had to adjust to changes in the physical environment, dealing with
complex terrains and adverse weather conditions. The Union Army and the
Confederate Army had to deal with economic issues, as well available resources. The
first Army to implement technological advances in communications into the
operating environment will certainly have a superior
The Work Of The Healthcare Field
Hey I m going to need you to stay over a few extra hours is something that most
workers hear more often than not. Working long shifts without a break can drain
you mentally and physically. There are many cases of workplace bullying. There
are also various amounts of websites dedicated to helping victims of workplace
bullying. A personal interview with Amber Mann, a 20 year old coworker of mine
at Sunset Village Retirement Homes, talked about how poor treatment at work
affects how she perseveres through the grueling hours of a horrible work week.
How you get treated at work can affect how you work, your mood and your all
around feelings of being there. Being an employee in an environment that is not
pleasant has a lot of setbacks when it comes to the work that is getting done. The
healthcare field is a demanding twenty four hour a day job. When there is a snow
storm or someone is sick and cannot work it s not as simple as closing the door and
shutting down the facility. So when there is a call off or short staffing than the
usual your workplace needs you motive is instilled and the guilt sets in. Upon
completing eight hours of work and to be told you are forced over another eight
hours when it was never planned is very harsh and frustrating. There are no
incentives to staying over either, it s as simple as stay or get reprimanded. As an
employee at Sunset Village Retirement Home people who are employed at this
facility are being worked till they simply can
Euthanasi Active And Passive Euthanasia
The issue of whether active and passive euthanasia are distinct continues to be
important to philosophers, ethicists and health care professionals. Euthanasia is the
act of ending a patient s life when the circumstance for that patient is unbearable or
untreatable by medical treatment (Ozcelick, Tekir, Samancioglu, Fadiloglu Ozkara,
2014, p. 94). Namely, there is active and passive euthanasia. Both are indicative of
the acts that root in the intention to end a patient s life. For the purpose of this
paper, we will establish that active euthanasia is the physical or direct act of causing
death, as to inject a patient with a lethal injection (Ozcelick et al, 2014, p. 94). In
similarity, passive euthanasia defines the act from which a health care provider
withholds life sustaining treatments such as not providing water or food as to
inevitably cause death (Ozcelick et al, 2014, p. 94). I will argue that there is a
spurious moral distinction between active and passive euthanasia, as both are
contingent on the same line of the intention to end ones life. Although there are
compelling arguments that will establish the difference between active and passive
euthanasia, it fails to seek the definitive conclusion of both. This conclusion is that
both, in any such way, lead to the end of ones life. To support this argument I will
first invest in explaining that that the health care provider will always have the
knowledge that either active or passive euthanasia will lead to death.
The High Rate Of Children With Asthma
Have you ever wondered why the South of the Bronx have the highest rate of children
with asthma? Well, the place matters, our social and physical environment
determinates what kind of disease people are exposed to. Unnatural Causes presents
on its episode Place Matters how the environment which people are in contact
constantly affects people s health. When it comes to health there is a lot of conditions
that are related to our health status. Poverty, and the neighborhood are some of the
factors make our environmenthealthy or unhealthy. According to the film there is a
social pattern in the environment where we live that keep us unhealthy. It is hard for
low income people change their way their live, to transform the economics of their
community and to make their neighborhood safer. In fact, it becomes almost
impossible to change the environment where less fortunate people live because
nobody wants to invent into the community, and they have to carry with disparity.
Violence, chronicstress and poverty taxes are some factors that influence our
environment.
One principal problem in a community is the high level of all kind of violence.
There many reasons why a community has a lot of crimes; since low percentage of
educated children to not having security or polices monitoring the neighborhood. As
a result, people feel unsecure because there is a high risk of dying or being rape. It is
difficult when there is not body in the community that belongs to a high

Reflection On Organizational Development
In reflection of this week reading I will address the issues found in my organization

the situation warrants, but humbler than they look. Therefore, Fullan s (2011)

based on my analysis of employees across various departments. One of the issue was
difficulty obtaining data to align with operationalize performance for continuous
improvement. The problem rests with not only availability of data, but, more
importantly, the strategic use of integrated data. Lack of strategic data integration and

about what is happening at CIL. The Institutionalization of solid business practices is

The Resurrection Of Jesus A Historical Event
Just how vital is the resurrection to Christianity Well in a quote taken from Man
Alive; by Michal green he state, Christianity does not hold the resurrection to be one
among many tenet of belief. Without the faith in the resurrection there would be no
Christianity at all. The Christian church would never have begun; the Jews
movement would have fizzled out like a damp squib with his exaction. When Jesus
rose from the grave, the impact was felt immediately and has continued to
reverberate throughout the world. This is certainly why many people have
attacked the resurrection and set out to disprove it and as Christians it is our job
to defend this important part of history that determines the future of so many
people. So in order to defend the greatest day in history one has to ask; is the
resurrection of Jesus a historical event? Everyone agrees that Jesus Christ was a
moral man who lived on earth. Some state the resurrection of Jesus is a historical
event, while others say the resurrection of Jesus is not a historical event. Jesus death
on the cross is seen as a barbarous event, but to others, Jesus death on the unlocked
the crippling chains of humanity. The resurrection of Jesus is proven to be a
historical event for these three reasons; the vacant tomb, credible witnesses, and
impactful culture. The first reason the resurrection of Jesus is proven to be historical
event is the symbol of the empty tomb. A quote by Anthony Flew, a devout atheist
states, The

Sports In India Essay

  • 1. Sports In India Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of sports in India poses a unique set of challenges, as the subject is both broad and multifaceted. First and foremost, one must navigate through the vast expanse of India's rich sporting history, spanning various disciplines such as cricket, field hockey, badminton, and kabaddi, among others. The diversity of sports and their cultural significance requires a careful selection of focus areas to ensure a comprehensive exploration within the confines of an essay. Researching the historical evolution of sports in India adds an additional layer of complexity. From the pre-independence era to the post-independence surge, understanding the societal, political, and economic factors that influenced the trajectory of sports in the country is crucial. It demands thorough investigation into the emergence of iconic athletes, the establishment of sports federations, and the evolution of infrastructure. Furthermore, addressing the contemporary landscape of Indian sports necessitates an examination of the challenges and triumphs. Discussing issues such as the lack of grassroots development, gender disparities, and the impact of globalization on the sports scene requires a nuanced approach. Analyzing recent achievements, like India's rise in international cricket or the emergence of young talents in various sports, adds a layer of dynamism to the narrative. The task is not merely about presenting facts but also about weaving a compelling narrative that captures the essence of India's sporting journey. It requires the incorporation of anecdotes, interviews, and personal reflections to humanize the story and make it relatable to the readers. Balancing the technical aspects of sports analysis with the human stories behind the achievements can be a challenging yet essential aspect of crafting a captivating essay. In conclusion, writing an essay on sports in India demands a meticulous blend of historical context, contemporary analysis, and a narrative that engages the reader. The writer must navigate through a diverse range of sports, historical epochs, and societal challenges to provide a comprehensive and insightful perspective on the topic. The Changing Effects of One as told in Children on Their Birthdays In Truman Capote s Children on Their Birthdays, the reader is allowed to see the ability one person has to effect a community. Through the character of Miss Bobbit, Capote shows all of the different effects, both positive and negative, that a young girl was able to have on an entire town. Through the effects of Miss Bobbit, the reader sees how a small shakeup in what is expected to be normal can benefit something for the better. From the offset of the story the characters lives were shown to be normal and boring. Billy Bob s total disregard for his mother s prize roses shows a definite change. Through the reactions of Bill Bob and his mother, it becomes clear to the reader that this was not an act that Billy Bob would have committed before the arrival of Miss Bobbit. Preacher s changing is also shown in the scene with the roses. Preacher would have picked all the roses in China too. He was as crazy about her as Billy Bob. (187, 188). The two boys that were once viewed as the tough youngsters of the town were quickly becoming softhearted lovers in an attempt to win Miss Bobbit s heart. Yet it was not until later that the reader was able to see the real effect she had on the boys. Through their infatuation with Miss Bobbit, the boys had gained a jealousy for one another. The jealousy reached its peak when the boy s competition resulted in a fight. That s a damn lie, said Billy Bob, and with a clean left hook he knocked him off the Sawyer porch and jumped after him into a bed of nasturtiums. (191). Miss Bobbit s effect on the boys turned out to be a very negative an effect, an effect that led to a temporary demise of their friendship. Not all of Miss Bobbit s work was negative. Through her efforts with Rosalba Cat, Miss Bobbit forces the entire town
  • 3. The Mathematical Theory Of Communication In Thomas... According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, entropy can be defined as the degree of disorder or uncertainty in a system. In his novel, The Crying of Lot 49, Thomas Pynchon manipulates the definition of the scientific term entropy to manifest the innate chaos and disorder in both a closed thermodynamic system and in the life of the protagonist: Oedipa Maas. In the novel, Oedipa Maas explores entropywith respect to the thermodynamic sorting of molecules in Maxwell s Demon, and the communication information regarding the Tristero . According to Warren Weaver s, Recent Contributions to The Mathematical Theory of Communication, there are technical, semantic, and effectiveness problems that may distort the accuracy of communication,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since entropy prospers in closed environments much like Oedipa s life at the beginning of the novel, Pynchon develops the idea that the chaos in Oedipa s life is subject to increase with the discovery of more information pointing to the existence of Tristero. This overload of information Oedipa experiences serves as a roadblock to her understanding of the true meaning behind the Tristero. According to Warren Weaver, the entropy in the channel is determined both by what one attempts to feed into the channel and by the capabilities of the channel to handle different signal situations (Weaver, 10). Thus, when Oedipa is fed copious amounts of symbols, words, and theories, she finds it hard to handle sorting what is real and unreal. This confusion that Oedipa endures is a direct consequence of the noise created by different people, symbols, and word that disrupt Oedipa s deciphering of the Tristero. Warren Weaver comments on this noise seen in Claude Shannon s communication transmission model, stating that, If noise is introduced, then the received message contains certain distortions...that would certainly lead one to say that the received message exhibits, because of the effects of the noise, an increased uncertainty... If the information source has any residual uncertainty...then this must be undesirable uncertainty due to noise (Weaver, 11). This undesirable uncertainty due to noise leads
  • 4. Chimney Sweeper By William Blake Analysis Sociologist Max Weber recognized that, as technology expands, as does the gap between the lower class and rich. His studies came from watching the Industrial Revolution take place and the social system change from feudalism to capitalism. Similarly, William Blake, who lived in Industrial Revolution era England, witnessed this widening gap firsthand. Commenting on the inhumane labor practices common to the poor in 19th century England, he wrote 2 versions of a poem called The Chimney Sweeper in different collections Songs of Innocence (1789) and Songs of Experience (1794). With these poems, Blake comments on the practice of using small children as chimney sweepers, drawing attention to the inhumanity and immorality of the practice and the way it s overlooked. In the Songs of Innocence version, Blake writes a narrative from the point of view of a child laborer. The tone is full of youthful innocence, which harshly contrasts the somber truth of the speaker s situation. The speaker is a young child, as implied in clever onomatopoeia in line 4, Could scarcely cry weep! weep! weep! weep! In these lines, the speaker means both literally a weep, as well as the word sweep, which, if said by a young child, may sound like weep. With this clever word choice, Blake invites readers to profoundly pity the poor child, as he is so young that he cannot even speak properly, yet sent to his death anyway. The child s innocence continues to be of presence, shaping the poem. In later

Methamphetamine is a highly addictive stimulant drug. Its physical effects include disturbed sleep patterns, Nausea, and Bizarre, erratic, sometimes violent behavior. Methamphetamine increases the amount of dopamine, which results in increased chemicals in the brain. Methamphetamine is a dopamine agonist. Caffeine is a CNS stimulant. It is the world s most consumed drug. Some physical effects include high blood pressure, rapid heartbeat, and hyperglycemia. Caffeine binds to our brain s adenosine receptors; preventing the chemical from binding with the receptors and making us tired. (This is what caffeine does to your brain, 2014) Caffeine is a receptor antagonist. Nicotine is a highly addictive chemical substance present in tobacco. Some physical effects include heart disease, stroke, and depression. The nicotine molecule is shaped like a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine. Acetylcholine and its receptors are involved in many functions, including muscle movement, breathing, heart rate, learning, and memory. They also cause the release of other neurotransmitters and hormones that affect your mood, appetite, memory, and more. When nicotine gets into the brain, it attaches to acetylcholine receptors and mimics the actions of acetylcholine. (How Does Nicotine Act in the Brain? 2015) Nicotine is an agonist to ACH. Cocaine is a highly addictive drug synthetically derived from coca. Some physical effects of cocaine include increased heart rate, body temperature, and increased rate of breathing. Normally, dopamine is then recycled back into the transmitting neuron by a specialized protein called the dopamine transporter. If cocaine is present, it attaches to the dopamine transporter and blocks the normal recycling process, resulting in a buildup of dopamine in the synapse, which contributes to the pleasurable effects of cocaine.

This is no unsolvable problem if we face it wisely and courageously. Franklin D. Roosevelt March 4, 1933 Franklin Delano Roosevelt indeed turned the lives of many young male Americans around. By allowing the invasion of silence into the play, the spotlight is taken off of Krapp in a one man play supposedly about Krapp, as he cannot maintain controlat the most basic level. The play begins and concludes with silence, and therefore silence is the first characterthe audience meets in the play, demonstrating its importance in controlling Krapp and his actions through the story. Throughout the play, silence constantly appears, whether in namesake or in the form of relentless pauses in Krapp s speech, and dominates Krapp and his language. Krapp, in constantly submitting to the ever present enemy of silence, demonstrates that he has no control over the story that is supposed to center around himself, and that silence is the character to overwhelm Krapp because it represents his fundamental flaw, his loneliness. The play opens on stage directions describing Krapp s den, and does not introduce the only material character in the story until four lines in (247). When Krapp, the main character, is introduced and described as an unkempt man, it is revealed immediately that he cannot take care of himself. • 10. Augustus s Res Gestae And The Juvenile Satire Throughout both readings, the reader gets two drastically different accounts on how Rome was under Augustus. Through Augustus s writing he depicts himself as being a very fair and humble ruler, one who is fair to all gives opportunities to his enemies. While on the other hand, the Juvenile Satire s depict Rome as a very dark place, with Augustuss being a horrible ruler and ruining everything good about Rome. Having these two depictions of Rome during the rule of Augustus is hard to see which one is truthful. Augustus humbles himself and gives factual evidence along with dates, while the JuvenalSatire absolutely destroy anything good about Augusts. Taking that into account the Rome in Augustus Res Gestae would be the closest depiction of what the real Rome was truly like during this time, this is because the reader cannot look at the Satires without knowing that the writer truly hated Augustus and therefore couldn t give an unbiased account on the events occurring during those times. In the Res Gestae written by Augustus himself the reader can find that many times throughout the writings that Augusts is trying to keep a historical account of all the great things he has done, while at the same time staying humble. I rebuilt the Capitol and the theater of Pompey, each work at enormous cost, without any inscription of my name. Here Augustus writes about an amazing deed he did, but staying humble and trying not to make Rome only about him, he rebuilds it and keeps it as it

She also gets rid of the law that states a princess cannot marry a street rat causing her to be able to marry Aladdin. She is also kind as demonstrated when she takes an apple and gives it to a hungry child. Jasmine was the sixth princess to grace our screens and she did so in 1992 in the movie Aladdin. Some parents would question my mother s choice of letting me watch such a violent cartoon at the tender age of three since it displayed a lot of unforgivingly violent moments such as: how many chokes and gags Tom performed on Jerry and vice versa. It is a tough question to answer, as is the question of whether Tom and Jerry was considered excessively violent television programunfit for a young kid. However, in all honesty, it is up to the parents of the child to regulate what they believe personally to be the best fit for a young child to watch. There is a huge difference between now and then: parents have much more power on regulating what their children see on TV with the technology of parental control that started surfacing recently which did not exist in my time. In this context, many people believed, and probably still do, that the government should have acted as a surrogate for parents whose only control of the TV was the power button. Today, parents can filter or tailor TV programs in majority of ways like the V chip for example, which allows certain programs blocked off if the parents deem it so or based on ratings. There is also another avenue like the cable satellite boxes that exist today which offer a vast variety of screening tools to prevent children from exploring televisionchannels or programs a parent might feel too

During the encore everyone thought that the show was over, but Tim came out into the Stadium seat and Faith walked through the floor seats and they sang. Basically the V chip will severely limit the bandwidth for high performance transmission of data on the NTSC signal. There is also to be cost to this new technology, which will be passed to consumers. Estimates are that each chip will cost six dollars wholesale and must be designed into the television s logic. A falling dollar does two things: * Makes foreign imports more expensive * Makes US exports cheaper on the world market The chain reaction not only increases sales of U.S. goods around the world but also creates more jobs for Americans. • 32. Feminist Issues In Crime Fiction Feminist Issues in Crime Fiction Bronwen Levy discusses issues in women s crime fiction, written by women or for women in her article Introduction to Marele Day: Reading Women s Crime Fiction, Some Problems . She thoroughly discusses authors in the genre, such as Agatha Christie (Levy В¶1) and cites other critics on the subject, such as Sherri Paris (В¶5). By bringing in other authors and critics on the subject, she precisely provides objectivity with other viewpoints. Levy did well in meeting the basic goals of literary criticism. Levy does use key terms from literary criticism accurately. In the first paragraph, she introduces her thesis: a binary opposition has been in operation in both dominant versions of the crime fiction genre and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In doing so, she does use carefully worded claims to advance her argument. In her second page, she begins with the claim we could usefully start by refusing the orthodoxy, even among feminists, of seeing crime fiction as inherently, or even an historically masculine form (Levy В¶4). This is the first real paragraph in which she begins to advance her thesis. In later paragraphs she continues with this notion and says, together with not seeing crime fiction as necessarily masculine, we could also use the term genre more carefully and flexibly, particularly given the current critical interest in genre theory (В¶5). This carries out the idea of crime fiction not being specifically masculine, but it begins to change the discussion to the genre itself, not whether it is masculine or feminine. The next paragraph begins with, while a knowledge of the histories and literary possibilities of various genres is useful for readers and for writers, it is important not to become victims of an inflexible, ahistorical, understanding of these forms (В¶6). These three claims show that Levy plainly advances her claims to advance her argument, subtly transitioning from one topic to the

Khalid uses metaphors throughout the entire song to help convey all of the pain caused by his ex. In the second line of the song, Khalid sings, You cut me deep and left me wide open . Since this metaphor is used in the second line of the song, Khalid seems to immediately portray his ex as someone who attacked him. Although Khalid never says what his ex did to him, an inference can be made that his ex treated him miserably. Khalid implies his ex left him incredibly vulnerable and emotionally scarred. In the next line, Khalid sings, I fought the demons that lie in between us . This line of the song seems to hint at the previous line. Perhaps Khalid
  • 35. Ethnicity Creates Inequality in the Labor Market In my opinion, the various kind of ethnicity in London creates some inequality in labour market and health. The ethnicity is de1fined as a process of self definition arising from inside a group. A way in which individuals define their personal identity and a type of social stratification that emerges when people form groups based on their real or perceived origins. (Dictionary of Human Geography, 5th Edition). Firstly, the inequality in minority ethnicity group labour market is one significant existing factor of Londons socially inequality. There were a large amount of migrant from Africa, Pakistan, India and south Asia from 1950s to 1970s. It might be a result of British colonisation in some Asian and African countries. It provides a convenience for those residents in the colony to come to England and worked. However, most of them didn t accept higher education or some skill training; therefore they could only do the unskilled, manual and low paid jobs which the local British residents no longer wanted to do. After few decades development, the working and living condition of minority ethnicity group is well developed and getting more optimistic, they gradually get higher paid jobs and the working environment is becoming better as well. For instance, many second generation minorities from Indian, Ugandan Asian and Chinese backgrounds have done well at school, and have gone on into successful managerial and professional careers in pharmacy, accountancy, medicine, banking

Cuba has a communist government that controls everything. There will be a vote that many people plan on boycotting, and there have been many protests from all the people who do not want the President of Venezuela to go through with the changes. The article and this amendment connect in certain ways. Many Venezuelans do not like their President s plan to make changes to their country s constitution. If something like this were to happen in the United States, and citizens were angry at the idea, the people s voice would need to be heard. With the voting age at eighteen years old, more people could vote against the plan to show the government just how many citizens disagree with making changes to the

The Civil War was the beginning of a new era, the contemporary operational environment. Field commanders had to deal with conditions, influences, and circumstances that affect the utilizations of militaryforces. Commanders could no longer rely on past experiences to determine future outcomes. Commanders had to take variables other than military forces into consideration. Field commanders during the American Civil Warhad to deal with several factors that affect the conditions, influences, and circumstances on the battlefield: national will, nature and stability of the state, military capabilities, economics, sociological demographics, information, physical environment, time, and technology. Commanders had to focus on all aspects of the operational environment to effectively employ military forces. Field commanders had difficulty exercising mission command over large armies and could not deliver critical information across the battlefield in a timely manner. Commanders had to adjust to changes in the physical environment, dealing with complex terrains and adverse weather conditions. The Union Army and the Confederate Army had to deal with economic issues, as well available resources. Working long shifts without a break can drain you mentally and physically. There are many cases of workplace bullying. There are also various amounts of websites dedicated to helping victims of workplace bullying. A personal interview with Amber Mann, a 20 year old coworker of mine at Sunset Village Retirement Homes, talked about how poor treatment at work affects how she perseveres through the grueling hours of a horrible work week. How you get treated at work can affect how you work, your mood and your all around feelings of being there. Being an employee in an environment that is not pleasant has a lot of setbacks when it comes to the work that is getting done. The healthcare field is a demanding twenty four hour a day job. When there is a snow storm or someone is sick and cannot work it s not as simple as closing the door and shutting down the facility. So when there is a call off or short staffing than the usual your workplace needs you motive is instilled and the guilt sets in. Upon completing eight hours of work and to be told you are forced over another eight hours when it was never planned is very harsh and frustrating. There are no incentives to staying over either, it s as simple as stay or get reprimanded. As an employee at Sunset Village Retirement Home people who are employed at this facility are being worked till they simply can
  • 40. Euthanasi Active And Passive Euthanasia The issue of whether active and passive euthanasia are distinct continues to be important to philosophers, ethicists and health care professionals. Euthanasia is the act of ending a patient s life when the circumstance for that patient is unbearable or untreatable by medical treatment (Ozcelick, Tekir, Samancioglu, Fadiloglu Ozkara, 2014, p. 94). Namely, there is active and passive euthanasia. Both are indicative of the acts that root in the intention to end a patient s life. For the purpose of this paper, we will establish that active euthanasia is the physical or direct act of causing death, as to inject a patient with a lethal injection (Ozcelick et al, 2014, p. 94). In similarity, passive euthanasia defines the act from which a health care provider withholds life sustaining treatments such as not providing water or food as to inevitably cause death (Ozcelick et al, 2014, p. 94). I will argue that there is a spurious moral distinction between active and passive euthanasia, as both are contingent on the same line of the intention to end ones life. Although there are compelling arguments that will establish the difference between active and passive euthanasia, it fails to seek the definitive conclusion of both. This conclusion is that both, in any such way, lead to the end of ones life. To support this argument I will first invest in explaining that that the health care provider will always have the knowledge that either active or passive euthanasia will lead to death.

When it comes to health there is a lot of conditions that are related to our health status. Poverty, and the neighborhood are some of the factors make our environmenthealthy or unhealthy. It is hard for low income people change their way their live, to transform the economics of their community and to make their neighborhood safer. In fact, it becomes almost impossible to change the environment where less fortunate people live because nobody wants to invent into the community, and they have to carry with disparity. Therefore, Fullan s (2011) suggest, We as a change leader, must use our brain, cultivate a growth mindset in ourselves, be indispensable in the right way and maintain a prominent level of confidence . The issues found in my organization development (OD) setting were based on my analysis of employees across various departments. One of the issue was difficulty obtaining data to align with operationalize performance for continuous improvement. • 43. The Resurrection Of Jesus A Historical Event Just how vital is the resurrection to Christianity Well in a quote taken from Man Alive; by Michal green he state, Christianity does not hold the resurrection to be one among many tenet of belief. Without the faith in the resurrection there would be no Christianity at all. The Christian church would never have begun; the Jews movement would have fizzled out like a damp squib with his exaction. When Jesus rose from the grave, the impact was felt immediately and has continued to reverberate throughout the world. This is certainly why many people have attacked the resurrection and set out to disprove it and as Christians it is our job to defend this important part of history that determines the future of so many people. So in order to defend the greatest day in history one has to ask; is the resurrection of Jesus a historical event? Everyone agrees that Jesus Christ was a moral man who lived on earth. Some state the resurrection of Jesus is a historical event, while others say the resurrection of Jesus is not a historical event. Jesus death on the cross is seen as a barbarous event, but to others, Jesus death on the unlocked the crippling chains of humanity. The resurrection of Jesus is proven to be a historical event for these three reasons; the vacant tomb, credible witnesses, and impactful culture. The first reason the resurrection of Jesus is proven to be historical event is the symbol of the empty tomb. A quote by Anthony Flew, a devout atheist states, The
