A: Title of special project

Student Center

Our goal is to create a student center where the students can get involved in a social

environment where there is neither hostility nor discrimination between the students. One of the

reasons why this student center is created is for there to be a union between the different posies

and groups that exist in the school. The separation between these groups is very noticeable and

we wish for this to be put to an end. The results of having so many separations between student

communities are never good. I have noticed that some groups get to sit on the floor while others

get to sit on the roundabouts. I also noticed that there wasn’t anything to do at lunch hour and

since there weren’t many roundabouts in school the majority of the students had to sit on the

hallways and talk. One of the schools officers told me that he also knows about this situation and

that he thinks that there should be a place where they can hang out. This gave me the idea of

creating a student center just or somewhat like the one we have in our university.

B: Purpose

One of the major conflicts that we have in middle school and high school is the

segregation between the different types of groups in them. The purpose of this project is for the

students to unite at least once in school and share. Students have so much to learn from each

other and I believe that this student center is just what they need to finally get together and share

as one. We also want the students to have something more to chew on than just sitting around

and thinking of doing unnecessary wrong things. Because they don’t have anything to do, they

turn to do things that literally get them in trouble. To prevent this from happening, we decided to
actually give them something to do at this hour. With the use of this student center, students,

without noticing will begin to socialize and maybe begin to erase that gap between them.

We can see the diversity in this project when we give the students an opportunity to bond

with each other. Also, there are going to be a vast amount of games that suits the interests of

different types of people and maybe they can teach others how to play giving them a chance to

interact. We can se leadership within the students when they have the responsibility of taking

care of the center, because it is theirs. Also, it is seen when they take the initiative to get to meet

new people and share with them what they know and like. We can also see social transformation

with this sharing between them and with the different values that they will be learning

throughout these interactions. Creativity is seen with the use of the brain muscle. Whenever the

students are playing, they are using their brains and their creativity, and also their motor skills.

With all this said, I can hypothesize that this project will create a major impact within the student

society and the rest of the school community.

C: Justification:

It is inevitable not knowing that our students have a difficult time going through middle

school and high school. There are many problems that contribute to the low academic

achievements and behavioral problems in the students. It is our job, as teachers, to contribute

positively in the lives of these students and provide them with a positive environment where they

can clear their minds and bond with each other. Friendship is one of the most important clues for

students to pass through high school and actually finish it. We must promote friendship,

education, and positive behavior in the students for them to contribute positively to the school as

well. The student center is a path way for socialization and learning. I believe that there will be
lesser behavioral problems, especially at this hour. If the students improve their behavior, the

school will have a much comfortable and sociable environment.

D: Proposed action:

   1. Objective:To transform and unite the student community through the use of a student
center where they can exercise their intellectual and motor skills through games.

   2. Objective: To get the students involved in a free, calming, liberating environment where
they can share and learn from each other.

   3. Objective: To create in the students a sense of responsibility when they are within the
      student center’s perimeters.

   4. Objective: To transform the students in to more responsible, caring, interactive, social
      human beings.

   5. Objective: To obtain various donations from different sources such as pharmacies, stores,
      clinics, laboratories, etc.

Activities:
   1. We are going to be asking for donations in different places. These donations can be of
        materials needed or cash.
   2. After having the money, we will be buy the materials needed to complete the center, such
as table games, radio, paint, materials for painting, etc.
   3. We will be searching on classificadosonline.com for the hockey and the ping pong table,
taking into consideration the budget. It is not sure that it will be possible to buy these
particular materials due to its cost.
   4. We will be working together to paint and decorate the room appropriately.
   5. We will inaugurate the center.
Time Frame
The process is expected to be carried out in the following dates.

4th week of February Complete the process of
                         donations.
2nd week of March Paint and decorate the room.
3rd week of March Buy the missing materials.
4th week of March Inaugurate the center and use it.
