The teacher believes that every child has potential for greatness and their role is to help students achieve it. They aim to create a caring learning environment where students can reach their full potential. Their philosophy is to build strong bonds with students as this forms the basis for future learning success and a respectful classroom culture. They want students to understand that even with life's challenges, their teacher believes in their potential for success. The teacher will encourage collaborative learning and student choice, while directing curriculum. Project-based and hands-on learning incorporating technology will engage students and make real-world connections. Community involvement through service projects will create well-rounded citizens. The goal is instilling a lifelong love of learning and helping students achieve beyond expectations.

1. Teaching Philosophy
I strongly believe that every single child has the potential for greatness and my job as a teacher is
to help them achieve it. In becoming a teacher, it is my desire to create a warm, welcoming and
caring environment for my students to learn in and reach their full potential.
I tend to align best with an existentialist teaching philosophy as I feel that one of the most
important things that I can do as a teacher is to create strong bonds with my students. I feel that
this is the basis for future learning success in the classroom and will ensure that there is a culture
of respect amongst students and myself. For some children, school is their “safe space” and a
teacher may be the only stable and positive influence in their lives. I want to be that one person
that makes a difference. I want all of my students to understand that even if life has given them
challenges, if they are willing to see the potential in themselves that I can see, their success is
inevitable.
In my classroom, I will encourage students to share ideas and take risks with their learning. We
will form a collaborative classroom management model, where students have choices on where
we take their learning, but under my direction.
I strongly believe that project based learning allows students to make meaningful connections
between curricular outcomes and the real world. By making these connections, students will be
more willing to be fully engaged in their learning and retain more information than if they
merely had to memorize facts. Centering the curriculum around student interests will create a
classroom of passionate learners who are willing to try new things and remain engaged in the
learning process. Allowing students voices to be heard will also foster respect as they will know
that I value their opinions and interests and am willing to be flexible with how they learn the

2. required information. I want my students to be very hands on with their learning and will
provide many opportunities for them to learn by doing. I also intend to incorporate a lot of
technology into the classroom. Students today will be required to be technologically fluent by
the time they enter the workforce, thus I feel it is important to teach them how to properly
navigate around the digital world. Technology also allows us to use the world as our classroom.
We have the capability to connect with people around the globe, including experts in every field
imaginable, thus, I will ensure my students are given the chance to do so. Traditional classroom
assignments will also be given a 21st century makeover in my classroom. Students now have the
ability to create impressive digital presentations, videos and much more to demonstrate their
learning. My students will be given opportunities to be innovative learners and create digital
masterpieces to enhance their education and keep them actively engaged.
I believe that many important lessons can be taught outside of the classroom and will ensure my
class is actively involved in the community. I feel that it is a school’s responsibility to give
students the opportunity to become contributing members of society. Volunteer work and
service projects will be infused into the curriculum to create well rounded students.
I will work hard to instill a lifelong love of learning in my students. I want them to be curious
and eager to learn. I want my students to be willing to take risks in the classroom and go beyond
what anyone ever thought they were capable of. I will ensure they know that I am here to guide
and assist them through their educational journeys and that I also genuinely care about them and
want to see them succeed. I am extremely motivated and dedicated to creating enriching
learning opportunities that encourage my students to think deeper about everything.
The world needs these kids to be game changers; it’s my job to help them get there.
