WebRTC provides opportunities for service providers to extend existing services and develop new services. It allows for improved quality of communication beyond traditional telephony. Service providers can generate revenue by prioritizing bandwidth and accounting for usage through "WebRTC-Ready" broadband access that includes quality of service mechanisms and TURN servers for traversal of network address translations and firewalls. Treating TURN servers as "Q-TURN" within the access router allows for traffic prioritization, shaping, authentication, and accounting. Telephony may also transition to using Internet protocols like WebRTC, fading from dedicated telephone networks. The killer application is providing better broadband access everywhere.
