• The Future-next
Boolean
• Boolean is a scripting language originally designed for
SQL, it is very close to scientific notation.
• Search engine specific sometimes, however may work
different in different engines
• Requires commands or operators to tell it what do to
and were to do it.
Inurl:resume Java linux -job -jobs -sample –example
Needs commands to tell it what to do-and or not (show
list talk about some)
Semantic Search
• Semantic Search - the idea is to search for what you really
mean by that phrase and find words and concepts that are
associated with your phrase. For instance, when you search
for a phrase containing "java," are you talking about coffee,
an island, or a programming language? This type of search
is beyond the literal to the conceptual. So a symantic
search for Java would also yield J2ee, Jee etc, think of
semantic as general in nature lots of info but not always
about the right stuff. Used a lot with targeted search
engines-Monster, linkedin, ATS, ladder. Doc-txt, pdf search
engine etc
• resume Java linux -job -jobs -sample –example
Natural Language
• Natural Language - is a search using regular spoken
language, such as English. Using this type of search you
can ask the database a question or you can type in a
sentence that describes the information you are
looking for. The database then uses a programmed
logic to determine the keywords in the sentence by
their position in the sentence. Example find a list of
movies playing in Seattle, wa Google facebook social
sites find resumes of java developers or people who
are developers in Seattle, Wa
• find resumes of java developers
Examples
• Inurl:resume Java linux -job -jobs -sample –
example Boolean
• resume Java linux -job -jobs -sample –example
Semantic
• find resumes of java developers Nat Language
• find resumes of java developers -example -job -
jobs filetype:pdf
• Facebook graph, G+ etc
People who live in Seattle, Washington and work at
Java
Future
• In the future there will more than likely be AIs
that know exactly what you want and all you
need to do is use natural language to get it.
