What is sour gas?
Sour gas is natural gas or
any other gas containing
significant amounts
of hydrogen sulfide (H2S).
Effect Of Hydrogen Sulphide
Sweet Gas
Sweet gas is the natural gas that contains very little or no the hydrogen
sulfide.
Amine gas
treating
• also known as amine scrubbing, gas sweetening and acid gas
removal,
• refers to a group of processes that use aqueous solutions of
various alkylamines (commonly referred to simply as amines) to
remove hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and carbon dioxide (CO2) from
gases.
Amines
• Aminoethoxyethanol
(Diglycovlamine) (DGA)
• Diisopropanolamine (DIPA)
• Diethanolamine (DEA)
• Monoethanolamine (MEA)
• Methyldiethanolamine (MDEA)
Absorption
• absorption is a physical or
chemical phenomenon or a process in
which atoms, molecules or ions enter
some bulk phase –
liquid or solid material.
Stripping
Stripping is
a physical
separation
process where
one or more
components are
removed from a
liquid stream by a
vapor stream
