Dear Mr. Valentino:
Introduction
I would like to introduce an idea for a mobile application that will allow for the live
music business to combine the attendee’s love for music with altruistic motives and
charitable contributions. “SongBid” is a platform from which music fans can make
small monetary contributions to hear performing artists play their favorite songs at
live events. This business will not only drive up revenue numbers for performers
and promotion companies but will also help to monetize people’s love for music to
make much-needed improvements to environmental and societal issues.
Background and Purpose
Musical Artists often have a desire to give back to charities and causes that they feel
passionate about or personally connected with. AEG Presents, being one of the
largest concert promoters in the world, has access to some of the biggest names in
the music business, but may not necessarily know how to properly realize these
types of altruistic motives for their artists and clients. Finding a method to monetize
the artist/fan connection in a way that can contribute to society on a regular basis is
one of the longest standing issues in the entertainment business.
Proposed Plan of Action
To implement this solution, an initial group of big-name artists needs to be recruited
and interviewed to find out what types of charities they would like to contribute to.
Audience and target market research will also be needed to find out which fans will
be willing to participate in such a platform. Finally, a mobile application
development firm will need to be contracted to code and design this idea into an
attractive and user-friendly interface. After a successful launch of the platform,
more and more artists will want to participate.
