Some is used in positive sentences with both countable and uncountable nouns, while any is used in negative sentences and questions. An exception is that some is used in questions when offering or requesting something. Somebody, somewhere, and something are used in positive sentences, while anybody, anywhere, and anything are used in negative sentences or questions.
