This document provides solutions to a theoretical question about a rising balloon. (1) It derives equations showing that the buoyant force on the balloon equals the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the balloon multiplied by the displaced air mass. (2) It relates the pressure difference to the air density and height using the ideal gas law, obtaining an expression for the pressure difference as a function of height and temperature. (3) It derives an equation for the pressure inside the balloon as a function of the radius and temperature, obtaining a maximum value when the radius is at a specific value determined by temperature and gas properties.
