 Doubled FB, Twitter and Pinterest followers, established 
presence on LI, G+, Slideshare and YouTube 
 Produced 5 videos for event that were shared across social, 
in emails and will be used to promote the event next year 
 Created branded logo wall that was a huge hit with 
participants and increased social sharing 
 Over 500 individuals attended NAMI Dallas sponsored 
documentary events 
 Targeted event emails opened 10,650 times during 
campaign – twice the average for event emails in Constant 
Contact 
 #NAMIWalksDallas had over 1,400 participants and 
surpassed its fundraising goal of $125,000! Most 
participants and donations ever!
Key Learnings and Takeaways 
 Start early and identify and develop the volunteers 
who will embrace and run with social media 
 Develop visual collateral during an event that can be 
leveraged to approach new sponsors in following 
year 
 Keep branding consistent through all campaigns 
 Find ways to align with complementary partners (i.e. 
.pet partners) that will mainstream the event 
 Bring your audience together before the big event to 
inspire, educate and invite

  • 2. Business Problem  Develop consistent branding for NAMI #smcdallas Dallas  Educate the community about NAMI Dallas and its services  Promote #NAMIWalksDallas and expand participation  Raise $125,000 in funds
  • 3. Solution Proposed/Implemented  Consistent branding developed and used across all social sites, email communications and graphics  Trained volunteers to be brand ambassadors across social media and implemented a social media content strategy  Created videos to communicate NAMI’s mission and shared in social and by email  Held 5 documentary events to educate community about mental health and NAMI Dallas  Promoted and acknowledged sponsors through social media and email marketing #smcdallas
  • 6. #smcdallas Results  Doubled FB, Twitter and Pinterest followers, established presence on LI, G+, Slideshare and YouTube  Produced 5 videos for event that were shared across social, in emails and will be used to promote the event next year  Created branded logo wall that was a huge hit with participants and increased social sharing  Over 500 individuals attended NAMI Dallas sponsored documentary events  Targeted event emails opened 10,650 times during campaign – twice the average for event emails in Constant Contact  #NAMIWalksDallas had over 1,400 participants and surpassed its fundraising goal of $125,000! Most participants and donations ever!

Key Learnings and Takeaways  Start early and identify and develop the volunteers who will embrace and run with social media  Develop visual collateral during an event that can be leveraged to approach new sponsors in following year  Keep branding consistent through all campaigns  Find ways to align with complementary partners (i.e. .pet partners) that will mainstream the event  Bring your audience together before the big event to inspire, educate and invite #smcdallas
