MAKE YOUR

Ask opened ended questions e.g. “What are your thoughts?” compared to
”Do you think this is a good idea?”
Use a two-way communication approach
Engage in and encourage conversation
Avoid jargon and if necessary, explain concepts
Make your message punchy, relevant and interesting
Use images, videos and GIFs to highlight your point
Use hashtags to capture trends
Tag organisations and thought opinion leaders
14. CO-DESIGNING
RESEARCH
Reach those who you wish to
work in partnership with, to
identify, prioritise, design,
conduct, analyse and
disseminate research.
15. AID RECRUITMENT
Engaging with patient leaders, and
patient organisations can be a useful
strategy to embed into your research
protocol, in order to engage people.
16. COLLABORATE
AND LEARN
Use social media to collaborate
with other people – whether they
be healthcare professionals,
researchers, politicians,
organisations or patient leaders.
You’ll be surprised how much
you will learn.
