Kevin set a goal to use the elliptical machine at his university gym for 40 minutes a day, 4 days a week over the course of a semester. He tracked his progress using the elliptical's timer. While he met his goal for the first few weeks, exercising 3 days a week, his attendance dropped to once a week for a couple weeks before finishing strong with 3 hours a week for the last two weeks. His roommates both motivated and inhibited his goal at times. Having achieved this goal, Kevin feels he has started a healthier lifestyle and can now set new weight loss goals.
