The presentation shows the parallel between service development in a company and a smart city. It points out the services not the technology's sake but should be developed for the people.If one involves the crowd, then you get not only loyal customers or user, but also people engaged to improve the service.The infrastructure is key. It should be user by a city to deliver core services. The infrastructure should be made openly accessible private companies so that they can provide more smart services. Due to cloud services and over the top telecom services business models will change for investors. That means that because of decentralized services, local investment is not rewarded by a return like it used to be in old days. The access networks no longer can be funded by delivering traditional telecom services.But everyone needs in the future more than ever a quick access to the Clouds. Smart City services in contrast will mostly be locally produced and rewarded. In a summary this means, that Cities should step in building the basis network infrastructure and focussing on delivering smart services for the citicens. In the mean time due to the importance of a powerful internet access, the prices for Internet access will probably raise in future. Owning the Infrastructure means holding a keyrole in the city..
