Slovakia officially the Slovak Republic, is a country in Central Europe.It is bordered by the Czech
Republic and Austria to the west, Poland to the north, Ukraine to the east and Hungary to the
south. Slovakia's territory spans about 49,000 square kilometres (19,000 sq mi) and is mostly
mountainous. The population is over 5 million. The capital and largest city is Bratislava. The
official language is Slovak, a member of the Slavic language family.
Landscape and flag
In Slovakia there are mountains such as the High Tatras and the Low Tatras. The highest peak is
Gerlachovsý shield which is 2654 m above sea. But we also have lowlands like Poddunajská
lowland, Eastern Lowland and Záhorská lowland.And this is our flag:

Our president's name is Andrej Kiska.
In Slovakia there are also historical monuments as: Vlkolínec, Bratislava Castle, Trencin Castle,
Devin Castle ....
Vlkolínec is a mountain village, locality of the town of Ruzomberok in Žilina.
Bratislava Castle was finished in 18. century

The most famous caves are Demenovská cave of freedom and Dobšinská ice cave.
Among the best-known lakes include Štrbské tarn, Popradské tarn and Skalnaté tarn.
