This document presents a summary of three major contributions in control overhead optimization in wireless resource allocation problems:
1. Optimized lossless coding schemes are proposed to minimize the control overhead for one-shot function computation between multiple users. Achievability schemes and converse bounds are derived.
2. Interactive communication schemes are developed to further reduce the control overhead compared to one-shot schemes. Multi-threshold interactive protocols and dynamic programming approaches are investigated.
3. An alternating optimization framework is introduced for the joint optimization of control and communication to minimize the overall cost. The problem is formulated as finding a Nash equilibrium between the encoders and an omniscient controller.
