Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA): More than HydroponicsFreshBox Farms
Controlled Environment Agriculture is an umbrella term used for many varieties of indoor plant cultivation. This can include something as simple as a DIY greenhouse or as complex as NASA’s Biomass Production System. Most generally, however, CEA can be defined as a method of cultivating plants in an enclosed environment, using technology to ensure optimal growing conditions.
As growing operations expand, the need for technological enhancements becomes more critical. A grower working multiple sites may need the advantages of remote monitoring to track and manage growing conditions effectively. The demands of an expanding operation make precision management especially valuable, as growers juggle their time to make the most efficient use of their resources.

Soil-less cultivation is a new advanced method for improving cultivation of different vegetable crops. It is a method of growing vegetables without the using soil as a rooting medium, in which the inorganic nutrients absorbed by the roots are supplied through irrigation water. It includes hydroponics, aeroponics and aquaponics. Hydroponics is the growing of vegetables in a fed with a solution containing a mixture of macro and micro-nutrients. Aquaponics is the technique in which, aquatic animals such as snails, fish, crayfish, prawns, etc., are grown in tanks with combination of hydroponics with vegetables are grown in water in a symbiotic environment. In aeroponics system, sealed root chamber is used as reservoir for nutrient solution where the plants above the reservoir cover with polystyrene/other material. It must be supported or hanged through holes in the expanded cover and are misted with nutrient solution to keep it always moist. Soil- less cultivation has been followed in number of vegetables such as, tomato, chilli, brinjal, green bean, bell pepper, cauliflower, cucumber, melons, radish, onion, lettuce, beet, winged beans, water spinach, spinach, coriander, and so on. Soil-less cultivation helps in early nursery raising and easy management, production of healthy vegetable seedlings free from disease, insects and pest. It has various benefits like; year-round production and off season, higher productivity and uniform quality, management of insect-pests, diseases and weeds is easier which helps in more efficient and less use of resources. Soilless culture is rapidly gaining its popularity and get accepted in many countries, especially in commercial vegetable production. Soilless culture could well dominate food production in the future As population increases and cultivable land declines due to poor land management, so people turn towards new technologies like soilless culture. In order to popularize soilless culture, it is very important to provide scientifically proven results for awareness and massive production of vegetable through soilless farming system and with this advanced technologies and techniques involved in soilless vegetable cultivation can be said as next-generation crop science hence, it can open a doorway to establish a new civilization in outer space.

An Indistinguishability Model for Evaluating Diverse Classes of Phishing Atta...CSCJournals
Phishing is a growing threat to Internet users and causes billions of dollars in damage every year. While there are a number of research articles that study the tactics, techniques and procedures employed by phishers in the literature, in this paper, we present a theoretical yet practical model to study this menacing threat in a formal manner. While it is common folklore knowledge that a successful phishing attack entails creating messages that are indistinguishable from the natural, expected messages by the intended victim, this concept has not been formalized. Our model attempts to capture a phishing attack in terms of this indistinguishability between the natural and phishing message probability distributions. We view the actions performed by a phisher as an attempt to create messages that are indistinguishable to the victim from that of “normal” messages. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study that places phishing on a concrete theoretical framework and offers a new perspective to analyze this threat. We propose metrics to analyze the success probability of a phishing attack taking into account the input used by a phisher and the work involved in creating deceptive email messages. Finally, we study and apply our model to a new class of phishing attacks called collaborative spear phishing that is gaining momentum. Recent examples include Operation Woolen-Goldfish in 2015, Rocket Kitten in 2014 and Epsilon email breach in 2011. We point out fundamental flaws in the current email-based marketing business model which enables such targeted spear phishing collaborative attacks. In this sense, our study is very timely and presents new and emerging trends in phishing.

Roots Ltd -Executive Summary May 2010
1. Executive Summary
RZT - Root Zone Temperature Optimization &
IBC - Irrigation by Condensation
Patented Systems and Methods
Sustainable, natural and clean agricultural systems designed to increase agricultural yield
coupled with substantial water and energy savings
Ever increasing pressures and inter-dependence on the global food supply are highlighting new technological and investment
opportunities in the areas of agriculture and food production. These trends include the rise of a vast middle class in emerging
markets and a dramatic increase in food demand that in turn increase food prices, strain food supply chains and add additional
strain on water and energy resources. Unexpected but significant, local climate changes expose agricultural crops to either
extreme cold or heat stress that diminish agricultural production quality and yield. Modern solutions to enhance water supplies,
such as sea water desalination, or climate control with air heating/cooling in green houses, both with fossil fuels, exerts
additional energy requirements and hence - additional pollution load on our globe.
Our company has developed and patented a variety of simple, reliable, low cost and environmentally friendly solutions to
increase agricultural crop production coupled with substantial water and energy savings.
Root Zone Temperature (RZT) optimization system is a very low energy consumption technology based on a one-time and
inexpensive installation, applicable for non-covered or covered agricultural crops in new or existing production areas. Field
tests on six different crops, when compared with control, yielded a dramatic increase of production from 20% to
240% (melons, peppers, strawberries, cucumbers, lettuce, and green beans) early maturity, better crop quality, water savings
during the summer, and reduction in greenhouse heating costs during the winter. In summary, the RZT system assures the
farmer a fast ROI. Through a wide range of field tests over a four year period (partly conducted in collaboration with Netafim
– a worldwide leader in drip irrigation), we have successfully demonstrated substantial agricultural yield increases using our
Root Zone Temperature optimization product. Our field tests have documented:
• A difference of 10Co (+and-) between experimental and control root zone temperatures during winters and summers;
• Significant reduction of extreme heat loads on plants during the summer resulting in the maintenance of high levels
of moisture at the root zone level, water saving and greater yield; and
• Reduction of damages to crops during cold winters, substantial increase in yield, improved product quality and
shorter growth cycle.
Our second, novel product is a patented Irrigation by Condensation (IBC) technology. It is a one time water tank fill up, closed
cycle, solar (or any other energy) operated irrigation system that irrigates by condensing water from moisture contained in the
soil and in the air on pipes with cold water. Our Solar Irrigation by Condensation technology was chosen by NASA Tech Brief's
Magazine as the 'Technology of the Month' of September 2008. The IBC system R&D stage technology.
The IBC technology will enable farmers to:
• Irrigate crops and produce food (and flowers) also in remote locations, characterized by a relatively high humidity and
ambient temperatures and long summers.
• Multiply X2 or 3 the total crop yield
• Work off existing water and electricity grids, or in parallel with existing irrigation
The RZT coupled with the IBC are cutting edge agricultural technologies that will enable farmers to increase income, reduce
environmental uncertainties relating to climate control, produce more crops and make more money.
Our technologies have been granted 2 USA parent patents. The PCT was approved in China, South Africa, Canada, Mexico
Australia and India (divisional applications were filed in Australia and India as well). and approved by the EU (in validation
process in few major agricultural countries) and pending in Israel.
We are seeking additional investments in these promising clean tech and agro-technology products. In parallel, we wish to sign
collaborative agreements in various parts of the world to commercialize our products, finalize R&D of the IBC system and
distribute the products.
The company is owned by Boaz Wachtel, inventor, entrepreneur and a marketing expert, and Sharon Devir, Ph.D. (Agricultural
Engineering), an entrepreneur and the former CEO (from its inception) of the NGT technological incubator in Israel. Our team
and consultants comprise of Eli Vered Chief Agronomist of Netafim; Pinchas Doron, Pd.D. Solar Energy Expert, CTO of Aura
(www.aora-solar.com),; Erez Zimchoni, Agricultural Engineer, with 12 years experience in Netafim R&D; Prof. Uzi Kafkafi,
expert on roots and the influence of temperature on plant physiology, The Hebrew University and Irina Loktev Ph.D.- an Electro-
thermal expert. Automatic electro-drive, Moscow Power Engineering Institute.
