This document summarizes the similarities between the novels Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier. Both novels follow a young woman who battles obstacles in her life, including difficult relationships. While Rebecca was not explicitly based on Jane Eyre, it shares many Gothic romance elements and themes with the earlier novel, including an anxious first-person narrator and a brooding male love interest. The document examines reviews of the 2020 Netflix film adaptation of Rebecca that note how it compares to Alfred Hitchcock's 1940 adaptation and fails to live up to the original novel.
For this EDU 290H assignment, I designed a PowerPoint presentation on Robert Frost. I covers his biography and a sample of his work. The information for my presentation was found in the Park Library on the fourth floor. It is a textbook named Traditions in Literature. I also found photographs online. The references for the photos are next to the images on the slides, while the citations for the textbooks are found at the end of the presentation. Before I made the PowerPoint, I developed a planning document, which includes the type of information I was going to insert into the presentation. When finished, I uploaded the PowerPoint presentation to slideshare.net, and via slideshare, I embedded the PowerPoint presentation onto my Wikispace Page.

Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare early in his car...PayalBunker
Romeo and Juliet, play by William Shakespeare, written about 1594–96 and first published in an unauthorized quarto in 1597. An authorized quarto appeared in 1599, substantially longer and more reliable. A third quarto, based on the second, was used by the editors of the First Folio of 1623. The characters of Romeo and Juliet have been depicted in literature, music, dance, and theatre. The appeal of the young hero and heroine—whose families, the Montagues and the Capulets, respectively, are implacable enemies—is such that they have become, in the popular imagination, the representative type of star-crossed lovers.

Title: Love Jones
Thesis: This is a love story set in the world of Chicago's middle-class black artists and professionals which is to say that it shows a world more unfamiliar to moviegoers than the far side of the moon. It is also frankly romantic and erotic and smart. This is the first movie in a while where the guy quotes Mozart and the girl tells him he's really thinking of Shaw.
I. Introduction
A. What do you do after love at first sight? That's the question posed in this romantic comedy-drama set in Chicago.
B. Love Jones is the debut feature for African-American writer and director Theodore Witcher; Isaiah Washington, Bill Bellamy, and Lisa Nicole Carson lead the supporting cast.
C. Darius Lovehall (Larenz Tate) is a novelist who is giving a reading at the Sanctuary, an upscale club presenting jazz and poetry to a bohemian clientele. Shortly before his set, he meets Nina Mosley (Nia Long), a woman who is a gifted photographer, despite the fact that she just lost her job. Some of the main ideas of the Movie are listed below:
· It is a love story because it encompasses what many relationships endure.
· Effective Communication is the key to a successful relationship.
· Our Relationship should be about more than just a physical one.
II. Define your ship!
A. If the relationship is going to last, then it must be something more than sex. “What do you have besides it?” is the question to be asked.
1. It’s rarely ‘just sex’
2. The relationship between Darius and Nina proceeds, but not smoothly. Is it just a sex thing?
B.There’s a thin line between stalking and persistence
1. People who push past and disregard the boundaries we set are not persistent.
2. A mutual attraction is sparked
C.Leave the games to the kids
1. Don’t wait until it’s too late to discover that this is the person that you can’t live without.
2. Relationships can make mistakes and encounter conflicts.

IV. Conclusion
A. Life is too short and if we are lucky, we may get one or two people in our life that we will love for the rest of your life.
B. Relationships take work, it’s giving and taking while simultaneously giving and taking.
C. Love Jonesshould remain just a film and not an example of the love we want to see in our lives.

Charlotte Bronte
Charlotte Brontë was an English novelist and
poet, the eldest of the three Brontë sisters
who survived into adulthood and whose
novels became classics of English literature.
She enlisted in school at Roe Head in January
1831, aged 14 years.
4. Jane Eyre:
4
• Jane Eyre is a novel by English writer Charlotte Brontë, published
under the pen name "Currer Bell", on 16 October 1847, by Smith,
Elder & Co. of London. The first American edition was published the
following year by Harper & Brothers of New York.
• The novel follows the story of Jane, a seemingly plain and simple
girl as she battles through life’s struggles. Jane has many obstacles
in her life – her cruel and abusive Aunt Reed, the grim conditions at
Lowood school, her love for Rochester and Rochester’s marriage to
Bertha.
6. Rebecca:
6
Rebecca is a 2020 British romantic
thriller film directed by Ben
Wheatley from a screenplay by Jane
Goldman, Joe Shrapnel, and Anna
Waterhouse. Based on the 1938
novel Rebecca by Daphne du
Maurier, the film stars Lily James,
Armie Hammer, Kristin Scott
Thomas, Keeley Hawes, Ann Dowd,
and Sam Riley.
7. 7
Rebecca was released in select
theatres on 16 October 2020, and
digitally on Netflix five days later. It
received mixed reviews from critics,
who compared the film
unfavourably to the 1940 version
directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

8. DE WINTERS TALE Is Rebecca on Netflix a true story
and is it based on Jane Eyre?
✘ REBECCA, written by
romantic novelist
Daphne Du Maurier,
is a novel that has
captured the
imagination of
readers since it was
first published in
1938.
8
11. Is it based on Jane Eyre?
✘ Many critics have noted the similarities between Rebecca
and Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre, which was published
100 years prior to Du Maurier’s novel.
✘ Rebecca is not explicitly based on Jane Eyre, but Du
Maurier may have been influenced by Brontë’s novel.
✘ There are certainly similarities between the two novels –
both are written in Gothic Romance styles.
11
12. ✘ Both the unnamed narrator of Rebecca and Jane in
Jane Eyre have similar voices – they’re both anxious
and self-deprecating.
✘ Even the two male love interests, Rochester and
Maxim de Winter are both brooding and dark
characters.
✘ So, although not explicitly related, Rebecca has picked
up on many of Jane Eyre’s tropes.
