information. Who better to learn from but the runners themselves? They are the ones who have to
cope with the injuries. Any amount of personal experience through trial and error is better advice
than book knowledge. This is the reason why so many runners advise that running related injuries
should be taken to a doctor who has running experience because he will be more inclined to look to
rectify the cause of the injury instead of resorting to surgery.
The best way to prevent injuries from occurring is to take the appropriate precautionary actions.
The first major rule is: don t strain. The majority of running injuries occur from overtraining. It
is important for a runner to incorporate hard days and easy days into his/her exercise routine.
You need to give your body time to rest so that it can repair itself. Fatigue accumulates and if you
don t ease up occasionally, you won t improve. Being overtired will eventually lead to injury

Adam ran his campaign similar to how John Kerry ran his campaigns, and by this, I mean that

help him make decisions. Adam s team was modeled after the military model of functional units,
which he had broken down into four different units. The first was logistics and supply, this unit was
made up of union leaders and Katherine as a consultant. The next unit was intel, which was made

which was headed by Barbara Herman who was the Campaign Manager and the student volunteers.

improvising, then blank out. For example, once during contact improvisation, the whole class
was instructed to huddle up into a smaller ball. Once my partner and I entered the ball , I was

In Captives and Voyagers, Alexander X. Byrd argues that the three movements of black migrants,
whether free or enslaved, to Sierra Leone and Jamaica comprised of a cultural and social

voyage and settlement. Byrd further exemplifies the notion that the African diaspora in black

Working with faceless people is the biggest adjustment I am making. I enjoy physical human
interaction and I do not have that luxury online. I find that the lack of immediate visual feedback
often puts me in a state of panic. The faceless set up will not change. Online education is here to
stay (Drago amp; Wagner, 2004, para. 5), but I can adjust my mindset. I must look for alternate
ways to relate with others; stop looking for visual cues, and remember that I am in an
