Shock is a life-threatening condition that occurs when the body is not receiving enough blood flow, damaging multiple organs. There are several types of shock including cardiogenic, hypovolemic, anaphylactic, septic, and neurogenic shock. Signs of shock include low blood pressure, pale and cold skin, weakness, and rapid breathing. First aid involves laying the person flat, treating any injuries, loosening tight clothing, monitoring breathing and pulse, and being prepared to perform CPR if needed.
