BEST PRACTISES: Examples From the Field
 5–7-point donor touch point calendar
First things First:
 Get stakeholders on board (ED, Board, Relevant staff)
 Finalize and agree on stewardship methods (phone calling, virtual, in
person visit, tailored mail outs, emails.
 Segment donors- but not being too strict
 Find out how donors like to be communicated with is critical and
something we’ve tried to do with our donors- and capturing it in our CRM
system.
Examples:
 Virtual coffee/tea chats (include Dev and Program staff)
 One signature event to rally around: NSS example
 Virtual Tech and learn
 New donor welcome package
 V-Day, NYD, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day- Implemented strategically
 Volunteer opportunities
FUNDRAISING TRENDS:
 Leverage Technology:
 Mobile apps/donations/program updates
 Crypto Currency- your donors may ask you if this is
acceptable and Canadian charity law will need to be
updated to reflect this new form of payment.
 Monthly Giving
 Nothing new about this but if you have not focused
on this, time to get on it!
 Podcasts are the New Blogs
 Hybrid programming is here to STAY!
