Proactive- taking a positive step up front to
head off trouble without waiting for
something negative to happen and then
reacting to it.
Reactive- waiting for something negative to
happen and then reacting to it.

KNOW and CARE ABOUT each other.
• Peer culture is a powerful influence on student
behavior.
• Teachers must shape a positive peer culture
• Avoid creating a culture that allows students to
think that cruel words and intolerant behavior will
be tolerated without consequences

15. Why kids need to

• Children need caring attachments to adults
and to each other.
• They are more likely to accept the values
and rules of the group when they feel
accepted and affirmed.

message
3- Body Language: about 45 - 50% of our
message

18. The Golden Rule
• Treat other people the way you would
like them to treat you.
• Don’t do to others what you don’t want
them to do to you.
