IMPORTANCE OF SEWAGE
TREATMENT
 Sewage treatment is of utmost importance and
needs to be taken seriously. Domestic wastewater
contains dissolved and solid pollutants that include
paper, urine, fecal matter, unconsumed food,
sanitary things, and other contaminants. The
network of the sewer is likely to welcome
wastewater coming from commercial places and
office properties as well as industrial.
 Rainwater that pours down the roof and road will
surely come down the drain and unto the sewer
network. Sewage treatment is really needed to
effectively fight off pollutants that can do harm in
the environment and health. Collecting and treating
wastewater can actually stop water-borne diseases
like typhoid and cholera ad with today’s
environmental issues you can never be sure what
kind of water-borne disease would sprung up next.
Sewage treatment during these times will prove to
be more beneficial than anything else.
 Prevention is still the best cure and to prevent any
water-borne disease, then it is wise to carry out the
sewage treatment on a regular basis and on
schedule if there are schedules being maintained to
ensure that the treatment is being carried out
accordingly. Diseases today should not be taken
lightly. Some noticed that different strains of the
virus proved to be more lethal today than in the
past. Sewage treatment can somehow help
prevent any unwanted “bugs” from appearing and
    bring havoc in the planet.
 Sewage treatment is essential to ensure that the
water for consumption will not have any diseases
with it when it reached the main pipeline of our
homes. Wastewater usually combines with the
main water source and if there is no sewage
treatment performed then chances are great that
we might ingest contaminated water. Although
there is water treatment being performed on the
water being distributed for consumption, it is still
better to have a sewage treatment for better
    protection.
 Sewage treatment involves the elimination of
solids by screening physically or through the
process called sedimentation. It is a very
important process to ensure that every home will
have clean supply of water without any
contaminants that can harm you or your family.
Clean water is not hard to have nowadays but if we
are not careful with the things we are doing with the
environment then having clean water without
processing it might not even be possible to have
anymore. The treatment are just counter measure
to ensure that the water we get is still of fine quality.
 The different water treatments available must be
considered carefully and any means available in
making sure that we have clean water all the time
must be seriously taken into consideration. Water
is a very important source so we must do our share
now to make sure that no further harm will come to
the precious water that we care about. All must be
able to act now before everything is too late. We
only have one home and we must protect it at all
cost and being aware of things around us will surely
    help.
 SOURCES OF SOLID WASTE-
 There are many sources from which the solid
waste comes. All living thing creates waste. In natural systems, trees animals
and other organisms contribute to waste.Humen creates waste as they alter
natural system through extraction, processing and use of natural resources.
 From the study of various corporations it is clear that each person creates 44
tons of waste per year. Each person generates 90,000 pounds of waste in a
lifetime. The sources are as follow-


 1) Municipal:-
 Street sweeping, sewage treatment plant waste, waste from school
    and other institutions.


 2) Domestic:-
 Garbage, rubbish and occasional large waste from house.
 Different Types of Solid Waste-

 Municipal Solid Waste

 Industrial Waste

 Hazardous Waste

 Hospital Waste

 Construction and Demolition Waste

 Waste from electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE)

 Agricultural Waste

 3) Commercial:-
 From different stores and offices.

 4) Industrial:-
 From manufacturing plants.

 5) Mining:-
 From coal mining, stripmining etc.

 6) Agricultural:-
 From farms grasslands and gardens.
WATER POLLUTION

  Water pollution is any chemical, biological, or
physical change in water quality that has a harmful
effect on living organism or makes water unsuitable
    for desired uses.

  has been suggested that it is the leading
     It
worldwide cause of deaths and diseases, and that it
accounts for the deaths of more than 14,000 people
    daily.
HUMAN AND NATURAL POLLUTANTS

  Water is typically referred to as polluted when it is
    impaired by anthropogenic contaminants.

  Natural phenomena such as volcanoes, alga
blooms, storms, and earthquakes also cause major
    changes in water quality.
SOURCES OF WATER POLLUTION
MARINE POLLUTION

 Entry into the ocean of chemicals, particles,
    industrial, agricultural and residential waste,
or the spread of invasive organisms.

 Most sources of marine pollution are land
based. The pollution often comes from
nonpoint sources such as agricultural runoff
    and wind blown debris.

  Many potentially toxic chemicals adhere to
tiny particles which are then taken up by
plankton and benthos animals, most of
which are either deposit or filter feeders.

MARINE POLLUTION  Entry into the ocean of chemicals, particles, industrial, agricultural and residential waste, or the spread of invasive organisms.  Most sources of marine pollution are land based. The pollution often comes from nonpoint sources such as agricultural runoff and wind blown debris.   Many potentially toxic chemicals adhere to tiny particles which are then taken up by plankton and benthos animals, most of which are either deposit or filter feeders.
