A Greek poet named Antipater of Sidon wrote a guidebook in around 100 BC listing the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, including the Colossus of Rhodes, Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, Statue of Zeus, Lighthouse of Alexandria, and Temple of Artemis. In 2007, a worldwide vote announced new wonders to replace the original seven.
