This document provides an introduction and literature review for a study on student expectations, perceptions, and satisfaction with higher education services in India's North Eastern region. The study aims to: 1) assess student perceptions and expectations of professional higher education institutions in the region, 2) explore the relationship between student perceptions, expectations, and overall satisfaction, and 3) examine the influence of service quality on student satisfaction using the SERVQUAL framework. A quantitative survey method will be used to collect primary data from students on their perceptions of factors like curriculum, teaching, facilities, and more. Secondary data will also be gathered from institutional policies.
