SIGMA KAPPA 5K/3K MEMORY WALK TO END ALZHEIMER’S The 2008 5K/3K Memory Walk to End Alzheimer's is presented by the Alzheimer’s Association and Sigma Kappa Sorority Come join the Ladies of Sigma Kappa, Alpha Tau Chapter of Michigan State University for the annual Memory Walk around campus. The Memory Walk campaigns to raise money and promote awareness of the Alzheimer's disease. Currently 5.2 million people are living with Alzheimer's in the United States, making it the sixth leading cause of death. Please come help fundraise and promote awareness of this devastating disease.  This year, it is 80's themed, so feel free to dress up!  When: September 21st at 12pm Where: The Rock, next to the Auditorium.  Donations of $5 or more will be entered in a drawing to win a $50 Eastwood Towne Center gift card. Old Town Commercial Association The Old Town Commercial Association is searching for volunteers for Old Town Oktoberfest! Volunteers are needed to serve beer and hard cider to festival patrons and they will receive a T-shirt and discounted admission into the festival after their work shift.  Volunteer Shifts:  Friday, October 3 : 8-11p.m.  Saturday, October 4 : 1:30-4:45p.m., 4:30-7:45p.m.  and 7:30-10:30p.m.  If you are interested in helping out, please contact  Courtney Sipperley  at sipperl2@msu.edu with your preferred shift. PR ApPRentice Lutheran Social Services of Michigan is the largest private foster care agency in Michigan with offices in Detroit, Lansing, Ann Arbor, Kalamazoo, Flint, Jackson, Saginaw and Grand Rapids. Everyone wants to adopt young children, particularly babies.  We need to reach out to potential parents who will take children ages 10 to 18 under their wing. Once foster care students turn 18 they are "aged out" and the statistics are high for incarceration, pregnancy, unemployment and not graduating from high school.  If you have ANY ideas to contribute, let Jenni know after the meeting or via email  at lewisj21@msu.edu.

Writing an article for  imPRessions  is a great way to get published and have some material for your portfolio.  The deadline for the October issue is Sunday, September 28. Red Carpet Thursdays  put on by the Red Cross  Help raise money for the Mid-Michigan Food Bank  Volunteers needed to set-up, take tickets, and greet guests.  Sept. 18  from 5-7pm @ Nuthouse Sports Grill in Lansing  $2,000 raised can provide:  10 meals  30 nights @ a motel for disaster relief  train 67 people in CPR/First Aide  If interested please sign up after meeting or contact  Whitney Geller  at  [email_address]
