This document discusses how the human body functions like a company with different systems working together. It uses the example of a boss having to take on additional roles if an employee stops working to illustrate how the body's systems support each other. It then explains how dysfunctions in systems like the vestibular system, which controls balance, or the auditory system can disrupt the brain's functioning, placing the body in a stressed defensive state. This makes learning and developing skills difficult as the brain must focus on processing harmful inputs from malfunctioning systems rather than its usual functions. Understanding each system's role helps explain children's behaviors and difficulties when systems are dysfunctional.

It was also used to decide the next CD.
The kids were also given a lot of SI and lot of core work was done along with activating the vestibular-visual-auditory triad which helped to bring about differences.
PSA: DO YOU KNOW? this is a PSA designed to target the needs of Autistics during a Crisis situation. It is meant to address the NEED for More training for Emergency Responders, so they will know How to respond to a Crisis situation involving an Autistic person.

Paper presented at Foundations of Digital Games 2015: While Erving Goffman’s work on frames has found broad adoption in game research, his sociological theory of gameplay enjoyment as “euphoric ease” has not been probed, although it is one of the few theories of gameplay enjoyment focusing what is absent in gameplay. Because spontaneous and socially demanded emotional involvement often align in gameplay, Goffman holds, it lacks the effortful self-regulation of conduct and emotion typical for everyday life. This paper presents an empirical grounding of Goffman’s theory, drawing on a qualitative interview study on social norms of emotion regulation in video game play. Data suggests that the absence of active emotional self-control may indeed be a hygiene factor of game enjoyment most strongly found in solitary gameplay, afforded by a socio-material setting licensing the display of gaming-typical emotions, and shielding form potentially disapproving onlookers.

Rhythmic Movement Training (RMT) includes specific rhythmic movements which imitate instinctual baby movements, to stimulate new connections being made in the brain in order to help the brain and nervous system mature and integrate primitive infant reflexes. RMT orginated in Stockholm, Sweden by Kerstin Linde in the 1970s when she began using movements with a rhythmic element for people with developmental and movement challenges. Kerstin Linde devised a series of movements based on what infants typically instinctively do in the first few months of life to integrate their primitive reflexes. Integrating primitive reflexes through these instinctual baby movements is found to lay critical foundations in the nervous system such as related to development, learning, coordination, behaviour, posture, regulation of emotions, etc. This rhythmic movement program was further developed by psychiatrist Dr. Blomberg, MD, of Stockholm, Sweden who noticed that these movements had a positive impact on social, emotional and cognitive functions of his patients; he studied with other leading specialists in neuro-development to understand why and used this work in his psychiatric practice for many years. Dr. Blomberg developed a formal program including rhythmic movements. The movements included in the program are similar to the movements which a baby uses to integrate his or her infant reflexes. He currently teaches this work under his organization called Blomberg Rhythmic Movement Training (BRMT). This rhythmic movement program was also further developed by Moira Dempsey who has expanded theory and movement manuals and continues to teach this work around the world. Moira founded the organization called Rhythmic Movement Training International (RMTi)
Therapeutic Listening is an individualized program to help kids enhance their listening capabilities. It improves a child's concentration span and helps her to communicate with the world around her in a more meaningful way. This program uses sound stimulation in combination with sensory integrative treatment techniques, emphasizing vestibular stimulation and postural and movement strategies. The sound stimulation used in Therapeutic Listening is designed to set up the nervous system and prepare it for emergent skills. For example, listening difficulties (i.e. the ability to accurately perceive, process, and respond to sounds) are often a part of other perceptual, motor, attention, and learning difficulties. Listening is a function of the entire brain and the whole body. Therefore, it is generally critical to provide specific postural, movement, and respiratory activities as part of a program. Gaining postural organization (midline orientation, co-contraction, and bilateral integration) facilitates changes in movement, attention, and helps sensory modulation to become integrated into daily life. Individual listening programs are created by a therapist trained in Therapeutic Listening. Our listening program is created based on an individual's needs, goals, and objectives; the choice of music and type of modulation, as well as listening times and accompanying individualized activity programs varies according to the treatment goals for the client. Therapeutic Listening is used for kids with ASD, sensory issues, visual-spatial deficits.

Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.

It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

provides therapy to kids.
You have 5 Occupational therapists under you.
You have 5 Physiotherapists under you.
You have 5 Pediatricians under you
You have 2 website developers under you
You have one CA who works with you
You have one office admin who works with you.
3. Every person in your office has his own sets of
responsibilities and duties
On one particular day if the CA stops working, the
boss will have to take over and manage both (his
own and CA’s work)
Another day, the pediatrician stops working and
the boss will have to take up (his own and the
pediatrician’s job)
4. Now, the boss is trying to do the pediatrician’s job
,CA’s job and his own job.
The work quality of the organization suffers
because he does not know the job of the
Pediatrician /CA.
Also, because he is managing the job of the
others ,his own work of managing everything
suffers!

We have
two ears that work for us.

7. The vestibular system tells the brain the position of the
body and controls the sense of balance.
The ears convey the information to the brain about the
source and direction of the sound that it receives.
The skin tells us where we are touched and with what
pressure, also tells us about the limits of the body.
The lower brain takes all the information and does all
the work of filtering information before it sends it to the
higher brain.
The higher brain helps us to problem solve, analyze
and infer about the data that is received.
8. System works at two levels
Protective state-tells the body that the input is fine
and harmless
Defensive state – tells the body that the input is
harmful and dangerous
9. In this the skin (tactile) tells the higher brain that
the input is dangerous.
Body goes into a state of fight and flight(stress)
Brain does not know the work of the skin and
thinks that it is true.
Since the body is in a state of stress, the higher
brain stops/alters its function of
inferring,judgement,reasoning and learning from
the environment and focuses only on input.
10. The vestibular system is not able to understand
the position of body in space.
Body does not know-right, left,up or down.
Body is not able to judge-how high it is from the
ground-thus body finds it difficult to jump off
surfaces, ascend/descend stair case.
Body feels every information is harmful.
11. Anytime any kind of movement input comes-like
swinging, bouncing,jumping or walking on uneven
surfaces-the body goes into a state of stress.
Body feels every input is dangerous.
Brain does not know the work of the vestibular
system and thinks that it is true.
Higher brain is just focusing on the input rather
than do its own work( make judgement, infer, learn
from environment.)
12. Ears rely on the vestibular system
When the vestibular system is malfunctioning-the
anchor is lost.
Vestibular system is like a tripod for the camera, it
gives you steady image of the world.
Now when the anchor is malfunctioning, child is
taking images into the brain like how we take
videos with the camera moving, it is very shaky
and we don’t understand anything
13. Since the body position is lost, child cannot
understand where is the sound coming from.
Ears feel that every input is dangerous especially
some that happen suddenly.
Brain does not know the work of the ears and
thinks that it is true.
Higher brain is trying hard to make sense but ears
are not cooperating since vestibular system is not
helping.
BRAIN IS DISORGANIZED!
14. In this state that the higher brain is-we are telling
the child to learn and identify objects using
reinforcers.
Higher brain of the child tries to take care of the
systems and also tries to learn what is being
taught.
Reinforcers work but the brain is disorganized-
thus learning is slow.
15. We are trying to teach things to the child about
directions, climb up on the jungle gym-vestibular
system not functioning!
We are trying to teach the child to talk-child is not
even listening to the sounds and if so perceiving it
dangerous-auditory system dysfunction!
Some kids are talking but not picking up
conversations-auditory system dysfunction!
We are expecting the child to wear clothes with
tags, hair pins,party hats-tactile system
dysfunction!
16. As we continue to work with the child with
dysfunctions and with a disorganized brain-child
learns things at a slow pace and some or the other
behavior keeps coming since the child is in a state
of stress already.
Body learns to compensate –uses some other
system rather than the desired system.
17. It will be a great help when we learn about the
child and the way the brain is working.
This will help us to understand about why is the
child being difficult at times…
The acceptance, understanding and assurance of
the parents to their kids plays a very important role
in relieving their stress!!!
