projects will be submitted to a committee for final approval. This form must be completed and
returned to your senior English teacher by Friday, August 17, 2012. You will not be allowed to
change your topic after October 12, 2012.
The Senior Project is subject to the plagiarism policies set forth by the district and Creekview High
School.
1) Describe the overall topic of your Senior Project.
I will be learning to bake an elaborate cake and overcoming the challenges that comes with it.
2) What is your previous experience in this area of study?
I have no previous experience in this area of study.
3) To what career will you connect this project (required)?
I will connect this project to the career of Entrepreneurship.
4) Describe what you are proposing to do for your Product step-by-step and in detail. Write on the
back of this sheet if necessary.
I plan to learn the basics of baking and decorating specialty cakes. First off, I will meet with my
facilitator to discuss the business side of the project to help work on my research paper. We will then
create a business plan for a guide. Then we will decide what kind of cake to make, and for which
occasion it will appear at. Next, I will buy all of the ingredients necessary for that particular cake.
After, I will meet with my facilitator again, and she will help me through the process of baking the
cake. Learning to decorate will be the most difficult learning task of my project. I will use the trial and
error method with several different cakes, learning what works and what does not. Once I figure out
the design and style of the final product, I will decorate the cake according to the occasion it will
appear at. Finally, I will deliver the cake to the final destination.
5) How is this project a “learning stretch” and a challenge for you?
This project is a learning stretch because I have never had a talent for baking or pastries, so I will learn
the amount of time and labor required for this field of study.
6) What are your estimated costs for completing the Product, and how will you fund these costs?

2. I have estimated the cost for completing my project to be around $200. This money will allow me to
buy all the supplies needed for my product to be completed.
7) Who have you chosen (or are considering choosing) as your Project Facilitator?
I have chosen Meagan Biello to be my Project Facilitator. (Sweet Cheeks Cakery)
8) What is this person’s expertise in this field?
On top of her teaching career, Meagan Biello has created a baking and decorating cake business for
weddings, parties, and banquets. She has experience with her business on several occasions such as
weddings, including my mom’s wedding cake.
