The teacher reflected on their kindergarten classroom performance. They found it difficult to get the talkative class to sit still in a circle due to the large group size. Using a puppet helped gain the students' attention to introduce new topics and activities. It was challenging for the students to understand instructions in English since they normally spoke in Spanish. The teacher tried to make the activities engaging and ensure students felt comfortable learning. Going forward, the teacher wants to better explain activities so all students can participate and be more firm in gaining attention since some students struggled with discipline and turns. Choosing assistants helped two disruptive students. Overall, the teacher felt good about speaking English in class and building rapport to encourage student participation.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. 2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Self report - video class 3 - k inder
1. Self-Reflection Video Class 3
Kindergarten
I consider really interesting reflect about my performance in the classroom and take into
account all the observations from my headteacher.
First of all and taking into account that this is a big group, they are quite talkative and on
many occasions I could not make that the whole class sit down on the floor in a circle, so it
was quite hard to obtain a good classroom dynamics and start with my activities.
However, the use of a frog puppet helped me to call their attention and also I used it to
introduce new topics, videos, games and so on. Here it is important to bear in mind that
they used to speak in Spanish during the whole class, the only moment that they used the
second language was when they listened to a song or video, so it was really hard that they
could understand me and follow the games. Although, the whole class has been adapted to
suit the students’ level; that is, there were different games so as students could feel at ease
to learn and practice items. Also during my classes, I tried to use engaging videos for
children of that age, all the time I sought to they feel comfortable and enjoy.
Regarding giving instructions, as Aurelia marked in the feedback, I recognize that I would
have liked to explain the activity better, to make that the whole class could participate and
not only some students. Also, I have to be more firm at the moment to call their attention
because there are some disciplines difficulties, they did not respect their turns at the
moment to play, watch a video or make a specific activity. So here, I stopped the class,
talked in Spanish to understand me; but there were two children who run and argue all the
time. Here I decided to choose them as an assistant and sit down next to me. They were
happy to be in that place.
Apart from these problems I feel quite good to speak in English almost the entire class and
make that the students have the necessary approach to that wonderful language. Also, a
good atmosphere was created and a good rapport as well, for them to participate and feel
involved in every activity.
