This document summarizes a study on seismic fragility analysis of regular and vertically setback reinforced concrete (RC) frame buildings. The study developed fragility curves to assess damage probability for buildings with setbacks on different stories, as well as for buildings with and without infill walls. Fragility curves were generated using capacity spectrum method and incremental dynamic analysis. The results found that setback buildings were more vulnerable than regular buildings, but setbacks with infill walls performed similar to regular RC buildings. The study concluded vertical setbacks increase vulnerability, while infill walls can improve seismic performance to the level of regular buildings.
