2. The seasons in Australia are summer,
autumn, winter and spring.
There are four seasons in Australia.
Each season has its own kind of weather.
In the north of Australia there are just two
seasons.
3. Summer (December, January, February)
The weather is hot and gets hotter.
Many people go to the beach to swim in
the cool water or stay in a shady place in
a garden.
Many of soft fruits such as peaches and
strawberries are ready to pick in summer.
Baby birds and animals grow bigger in
summer.
Cricket and tennis are summer sports.
Natural disasters are draught and
bushfire.
4. Autumn (March, April, May)
Autumn is after summer. It is also
called fall.
The weather gets cooler.
The leaves of some trees become
red, yellow or brown, and fall off
the trees.
Fruits such as apples and pears
are ready to be picked, and crops
are ready to harvest.
People grow carrots, cabbages
and sprouts for winter.
5. Winter (June, July, August)
Winter comes after autumn (Fall).
The weather is colder.
Natural disasters are rain and
storms.
People go to mountains to ski and
paly in the snow during the winter.
Many trees have no leaves.
Birds fly to warmer parts of the
world.
Farmers plough their fields for
spring planting.
Soccer, rugby and Australian rules
football are played in Winter.
6. Spring (September, October, November)
Spring is after winter.
The weather is warmer.
It rains a lot in spring.
Many flowers blooms, for example
daffodils and tulips.
Birds make nests and lay eggs in Spring.
Many animals have babies in the spring.
