The Voice-Controlled Lighting SystemPresenter: Josh Hall, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology, College of Applied ScienceAdvisor:	Mike Haas, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology, College of Applied ScienceAbstractStudies show that approximately 18 million people worldwide are confided to their bed. A lot of these people have to rely on others for everything, even a simple task such as turning on the lights in a room. This can greatly lower a persons self-esteem and make them feel like more of a burden than anything else. The Voice-Controlled Lighting System was build for the sole purpose to help these people. The Voice-Controlled Lighting System is a device that can be used by anyone, with little voice training. The unit can be attached to the individuals bed, the user can then speak into the microphone to give voice commands. Once the unit receives the vocal commands, it will then send a signal to the power-line controller. The power line controller will then decipher the signal and carry out the desired function. This project will give the bedridden individual a sense of independence, it’s one less thing they have to rely on someone else for. Project Flow ChartEngineering Design & Analysis Training the voice control is done through a GUI (Graphical User Interface) List of the used x.10 equipment:(1)-X10 PL513 Interface Module Transmitter	(2)- XPS3 Wall Switch (Fluorescent)  Project Objectives  Purpose is to design and build a voice-controlled lighting system.
