This document is an abstract for a conference paper that analyzes the shape-dependent catalytic properties of Au-Pt, Au-Pd, and Pt-Pd nanoparticles from a thermodynamic perspective. The paper studies how the face-centered cubic structure and shape of these transition metal nanoparticles impacts their stability and melting temperatures. It finds that tetrahedron and dodecahedron nanoparticle geometries result in the maximum and minimum variations, respectively, in transition temperatures for all three catalyst groups.
