1. Thomas and his friends are among the last survivors of a deadly disease that has killed most of the world's population. Thomas is beginning to lose his grip on reality and experience hallucinations as he struggles with being alone. 2. In a series of flashbacks and hallucinations, Thomas remembers happier times with his friends before they began dying off. He sees visions of his friends who are now dead. 3. By the end, Thomas is completely alone, experiencing visions of his long-deceased friend Tori, as he sits watching the sunset at their usual spot. He has fully lost touch with reality in his grief and insanity over being the sole survivor.

SCENE ONE
FADE IN:
EXT. BEACON- EARLY MORNING
Time lapse of Thomas and his friends watching the sun
rise on the beacon.
(Title Sequence)
EXT. TOWN - MIDDAY
The group of friends walk through an abandoned town
because they are the only ones left after a deadly
disease killed everyone else. Despite everything that’s
happening, the friends stay positive and think about the
bright side of the situation. The group are wearing
colour coordinated clothes to show that Thomas is
beginning to lose his mind and become insane.
THOMAS
Do you know what I always think
about?
MATT
What?
THOMAS
It’s weird how out of everyone in
the world, we’re the only ones
left because of this disease.
Like why us? What makes us
different from everyone else?
MATT
I really don’t know
THOMAS
Do you reckon there’s anyone else
like us?
MATT
(bluntly)
No, I don’t think so.
THOMAS
(Disappointed)
Oh, okay. It doesn’t matter.

3. 2.
JENNY
You shouldn’t be thinking like
that, you should just be happy
that we are all alive. We are a
family now.
THOMAS
Yeah I know, it’s just weird that
it’s only us.
TORI
Thomas, it’s okay, don’t think
about it too much. We have each
other.
SCENE TWO
INT. SCHOOL - LUNCH
Flashback of Thomas in school with his friends. They are
not wearing coordinated clothing to slightly show that
they were killed by the disease. The friends are sitting
in the canteen eating lunch, and discussing the upcoming
prom.
THOMAS
Guys, I wanna ask Tori to prom but
I think she’s into Jacob.
MATT
Nah, bro, she's deffo into you.
THOMAS
How would you even know if she
likes me?
JENNY
OMG, everyone knows, it’s so
obvious
THOMAS
What, really?
(Friends nod)
THOMAS
Sh, she coming..
Tori approaches, and sits down next to her friends
TORI
Hey guys, what’s going on?

4. 3.
THOMAS
Erm, nothing…
Tori sits down in the empty seat opposite Thomas. Matt
winks at Thomas and nudges Jenny.
MATT
Guys, we gotta go, catch you later
Matt and Jenny leave.
THOMAS
(Nervous)
So…Uh…How you doing?
TORI
I’m doing good, you?
THOMAS
Uh…yeah I’m okay……it’s just I need
to ask you something.
TORI
Yeah sure, what’s up?
THOMAS
Erm…well…are you going with
someone to prom?
TORI
(Grinning)
No, not yet.
THOMAS
Oh well, would you go with me?
TORI
Me?
THOMAS
(Nervous)
(looking down)
Oh well, I heard you're into me so
I’m kinda into you so I just
thought -
TORI (TOP)
Oh stop mumbling, of course I’ll
go with you.
Thomas looks up, with a hopeful and happy smile on his
face. Tori giggles.

5. 4.
SCENE THREE
INT. HOME - DAY
Transitions from close up of Tori giggling, to her
looking depressed.
THOMAS
Tori, what’s up?
TORI
Oh, it’s nothing, I was just
thinking about the prom, and how
we never got to go together.
THOMAS
Yeah I know, but we are here,
together, right now. That’s all
that matters
TORI
I just wish we could’ve had prom
before everything happened.
THOMAS
We just gotta be happy that we’re
alive, here, in this moment.
Matt starts coughing looking pale.
MATT
hey guys, I'm just gonna lie down
for abit.
JENNY
You alright?
MATT
Yeah, just feel abit dodgy.
Matt goes and lies down, and it flickers between the past
and the present when he really died, and the reenactment
now. You see him coughing up blood and he dies and Matts
face gets super imposed to a skull.
Thomas walks into the room where Matts skeleton lies.
He's startled, but then Matts skeleton disappears
indicating he wasn't really there.

6. 5.
SCENE FOUR
EXT - TOWN - DAY
Similar to the first scene, Thomas, Tori and Jenny are
walking though the town. Thomas and Tori are talking
leaving Jenny out because she is irrelevant, she's only
remembered in Thomas’ mind because of Matt. Both Jenny
and Tori flicker, indicating that they’re a figment of
Thomas’ imagination. At the end of the flickers, Jenny
disappears. Tori and Thomas walk in silence for abit
longer without Jenny.
THOMAS
I can’t believe they've just left
us, both of them.
TORI
yeah, I know.
THOMAS
Do you think we should move
somewhere else…to try and find
other people like us?
TORI
I don’t think that’s a good idea
THOMAS
Why not
TORI
because, say if we find people,
they might not be like us.
THOMAS
What do you mean, they’ll be on
their own, just like us
TORI
yeah, they might be like us in
that sense, but you don’t know
what the loneliness has done to
them, it could've driven them
insane.
THOMAS
what if it hasn’t, we’re perfectly
fine…it hasn't affected us.
TORI
and think about it, we’re fine
here, we have enough supplies from
all the shops around here to last
us a long time.

7. 6.
THOMAS
but what if…
TORI (TOP)
No Thomas…don’t think like that.
We don’t need anybody else, we’re
in this together, till the end…you
and me.
THOMAS
yeah, you’re right, I’m sorry
Tori, it’s just that, if something
happens to me, i just don’t want
you to be on your own.
TORI
Nothings going to happen to you, I
wont be on my own and neither will
you, I’ll always be there Thomas.
SCENE FIVE
INT - HOME - NIGHT
Flashback of Thomas and Tori talking about prom, and how
excited they are. When suddenly, Tori begins to go pale
and cough. It just gets worse and ends up falling into
Thomas’s arms.
TORI
I can't believe how soon prom is
THOMAS
I know, you looking forward to it?
TORI
Of course I am, I’m going with
you.
Thomas smiles shyly. Tori begins to cough lightly
THOMAS
You’re gonna look beautiful
Tori giggles, which makes her cough get worse. Thomas’s
smile begins to fade, showing how worried he is about
her.
THOMAS
ar..are you okay Tori? do y..you
want some water?

8. 7.
TORI
erm..yes please
Thomas quickly stands, but Tori coughs even harder and
coughs up blood. Thomas quickly sits down and holds her.
She looks even paler than before.
TORI
(struggling to talk)
Thomas… before I go
THOMAS
no, you’re not leaving me. Not
now, not ever.
TORI
(Struggling to talk)
I’m sorry Thomas, i…i lov…
Tori’s body becomes lifeless in Thomas’s arms. The scene
transitions into the present, showing Thomas sitting
there in the same position, looking at his arms, but now
they're empty. Tori is gone. (fades out)
SCENE SIX
EXT - BEACON - NIGHT
Thomas is slowly walking up the path towards the bench,
he looks depressed and lonely. He sits on the bench where
he and his friends used to go. W/S behind showing ghostly
figures of Tori, Jenny and Matt. Tori walks over to
Thomas and puts a hand on his shoulder, Thomas doesn’t
move as he doesn't know she's there. Camera pans around
other shoulder and when it gets to the front of Thomas
Tori and the others are no longer there.
TORI
Voiceover
I’ll always be there Thomas.
W/S showing Thomas on his own, time-lapse of the sun set.
fades to black.
