Script – Version Two
Scene One - INT – Day
1. SOUND: Intro music for the news
2. NEWS REPORTER: Today, we are celebrating the 50th
anniversary to the end of the apocalypse. It’s been 50
years today since Marcus Jones, a 48-year-old scientist
at the time, discovered the vaccination. He died at the
age of 93 a little over 5 years ago but he will be
remembered for many years to come. Never heard before
tape recordings that were found during the clean up of
the aftermath of the apocalypse. They have been edited
into short Thirty-minute sectors and will be played
every weekday at 6.30pm over a four-week period, and
maybe, these tapes will allow us to get a better
insight of what happened all those years ago.

7. DAN: What are you doing?...
8. MATT: I’m commentating our journey… anyway, I’m Matt by
the way, I’m 22 and I used to be an engineer before the
end of the world began. I’m sure its been about 8
months, maybe more, since it all started.
9. DAN:(OFF MIKE) Its been almost a year now, and this is
not even a forest, its just a few trees, it’s the
quickest way to the shop
10. MATT: Wait, does this mean I’m 23? wow…anyway, that
was Dan, he might be like 28 or something now, he used
to be a… erm… I actually don’t know
Page 3 Script Jessica Owen

5. DAN: Yes
6. MATT: promise me
7. DAN: Yes, alright, I promise. Turn that thing off now
for a bit anyway, we got work to do. We have to raid
this shop to see if there’s any food we can eat.
8. MATT: Fine.

Page 5 Script Jessica Owen
1. DAN: We can’t just waste bullets like that, we’ve
hardly got any, we need to keep them for emergencies.

4. MATT: It won’t…
I’m gonna go look for some batteries
5. DAN: Batteries?
6. MATT: yeah for my tape recorder
7. DAN: (slightly laughing) seriously…
Hey, is that thing still on? I can see the red light
flashing.
8. MATT: fine, I’ll turn it off
9. DAN: Good
10. SOUND: ruffle of mic indicating it’s been switched
off.
