2. INT. The scene opens in SIMON house with the camera slowly
moving towards SIMON’S room, showing him to be sitting there
playing PS4 online with George his friend online.
SIMON
(ls)(ms)Sitting in front of the television holding the
controller, engaged with the game.
GEORGE
(ms) Behind the corner mate.
SIMON
(Zoom out from simons tv) Yeah, I’m getting there.
GEORGE
(cu) Oh crap did you see that?
SIMON
(cu of Simon) oh i give up, I’m not playing this stupid game
anymore for today, we’ll see tomorrow.
GEORGE
(cu of game) Alright, see ya.
CUT TO:
SIMON
(LA)(MS)The phone left beside Simon starts to ring, Simon
quickly looks down at it eerily. He sees that it's a voice
mail from George and picks the phone to listen to it.
GEORGE
On an answer phone message
Hey man I just got a call from my friend Matt, I think you met
him before. Well anyway he phoned me up a couple of days ago
and arranged to meet me up but he hasn't shown up. So I'm
calling to see if you wanna meet up instead? Just drop me a
call.
SIMON
(LS) simon stands up and tries to call George.
(Zoom in to mid close up)simon stands still waiting for george
to pick up, but after a short while he still doesn't pick up.
Simon goes to call him again but realises it's hopeless and
just leaves it to go to answer phone.
3. Hey man its simon. I'm just going to our normal meeting place
It won't be long, make sure you’re there this time I don't
want to be waiting. Well I guess I’ll see you there.
(MS) (MS tracking) (HIGH ANGLE) (M CU)Simon takes his phone
and keys from his room and walks downstairs. He put his shoes
on and proceeds to head out the door not before shouting up
the stairs.
SIMON
I'm just heading out with george I’ll be home later. Just call
me, if you need me.
(MS)Simon walks out the door and starts to head in the
direction of the park where he would normally meet george.
While walking along the dark streets he attempts to call
george once more, but there was again no answer from him. At
this point Simon starts worry about his friend. He puts his
phone away and continues to walk.
EXT. Simon has been walking for a few minutes with different
shots showing the time passing of time. (HA)Simon reaches the
underpass and starts to walk down the stairs. While walking in
the underpass he passes MATT knocks into him.
SIMON
Oh sorry mate.
The man ignores him and continues walking. simon brushes it
off and continues walking down the path. Towards the end of
the road SIMON stops and hears a metallic screech. He quickly
turns around (LS) to see MATT walking toward him. SIMON in a
moment of panic turns back round and starts a fast paced walk
towards the other side of the road, he keep the pace up as he
continues his rout continuously looking back.(LS) SIMON comes
out to opening and stops in his tracks and looks around behind
him frantically. The figure is gone but SIMON is still
cautious of his surroundings constantly looking back.
(LS)(MS)(CU)after some time SIMON reaches the park and heads
to the meeting point. SIMON decides to call GEORGE. Whilst
waiting for george to pick up he hears a faint ringtone in the
4. distance. He follows the direction the the noise. On the floor
SIMON finds GEORGES phone (cu) the screen is cracked.
SIMON
(MS)(DT) GEORGE!
Before SIMON has time to properly understand his situation an
arm gets thrown round his neck which pulls him to the ground
off screen.
(Cut to black)
Scene 2
INT.(CU)SIMON wakes up on the wooden floor of a shed. SIMON
tries to break free from his bondage but finds it useless. He
turns over to face away from the wall to find himself looking
directly in the GEORGE'S face. His face is blank and
motionless apart from small twitches in his face.
SIMON
George? Are you ok?
(CU)(MS)SIMON looks down at georges shirt and notices the
blood stains on them
Holy shit George what happened to you!
GEORGE
Shhh...don't speak he’ll hear us.
(ls) at this moment both SIMON and George look in the
direction of some heavy footsteps on wooden boards. The door
opens with a creek and MATT steps in, he is holding a homemade
weapon. MATT stands over SIMON and GEORGE menacingly. He then
crouches down slowly.
SIMON
(MS)(HA) sits up. Like going to prepare himself.(SRS)
What the hell do you want with me and george?
5. MATT
I'm sorry, I thought we were friends. Huh. what about all that
quality time we spent playing (insert game from beginning)
GEORGE
Listen Matt just leave Simon alone
MATT
Shut it. Listen I've brought us all here together can't we
just enjoy this time together
SIMON
What do you even plan to do with us.
MATT
Well we're going to have some fun of course.
(MS)looks at SIMON and then GEORGE with an unsettling smile
across his face.
MATT stands up from crouching slowly and locks the door on
his way out.
Scene 3
INT. (CU) GEORGE and SIMON are laying, faces pressed against
the floor. Motionless. The door handle slowly turndown and the
lock sounds. MATT walks in.
MATT
Right then how do you two fancy going for a walk in the woods
today.
SIMON
6. Looks at MATT, then at GEORGE
MATT
I'll take that as a yes
(MS)(CU)MATT approches GEORGE and processed the blindfold him.
MATT looks at SIMON
I'm sorry I don't have another blindfold. And I can't really
ask you to keep your eyes closed, now can I.
(MS)MATT punches SIMON square in the face
(cut to black)
Scene 4
EXT. (sound only, the rustling of leaves and the breaking of
twigs with each of the foot steps. The footsteps stop.) MATT
pushes both SIMON and GEORGE to the ground. MATT removes
GEORGES blindfold and proceeds to throw the rope around a
strong, low hanging branch.
MATT
(MS)(CU) MATT leans down to the ground to put mud stripes on
his face
your time’s have come my friends. Death's shadow, with my
guidance, is standing over your cold pointless souls. Do you
have any parting words before you draw you last breath.
GEORGE
(CU)looks away from MATT and SIMON and down at the ground
MATT
(MS)leaning down to GEORGE'S ear.
No?...good
(HA)(CU)MATT places the rope around GEORGE’S neck and starts
to raise him off the ground
GEORGE
7. (LA)(CU)twitches and starts struggling to breathe but finds
his efforts useless and finally lets out one final breath of
regret. GEORGE is now dead.
MATT
(MS)MATT lowers the rope letting georges limp dead body fall
to the floor.
Be at peace young George. your soul is in the lord's hands
now.
(MS)(CU)MATT turns around to look for SIMON but can't seem to
see him (LS) SIMON is running through the woods and gets
spotted by MATT.
Ah there you are
SIMON
(tracking) SIMON is running through the woods constantly
looking back to see if he was being followed by MATT after a
few minutes of running, SIMON is abruptly stopped in his
tracks as his chest is met by MATT'S weapon.
(Fade out)
