Scene 1
EXT. The scene begins outside at the subway with the camera
slowly moving towards the exit. The camera shows SIMON
suddenly running through the subway in fear and runs past the
camera, up the stairs and through the exit.
(MS)(CU)​SIMON is ​breathing heavily as he runs through the
subway. Simon stops and looks around to see if what he has
been running from is anywhere around or near him. He takes out
his phone to call 999, then he looks over once more to see if
anyone is around him, but he gets snatched.
He screams, wakes up with his hand over his mouth as if he has
been snatched. Then he realises that he had a nightmare.
Camera moves throughout the house and makes way to SIMON’s
room. ​Door opens
He turns over to go back to sleep, he sees a dark figure and
screams. SIMON rubs his eyes and face to make sure he still
isn’t dreaming. After rubbing his eyes, the figure disappears,
Simon believes he is hallucinating.
Simon checks the time on his phone, as he unlocks his phone he
sees that he previously dialed 999 as in what happened in the
nightmare.
(MS) (MS tracking) (HIGH ANGLE) (MCU)Simon takes
his phone and keys from his room and walks
downstairs. He puts his shoes on and proceeds to head out the
door.
SIMON
I'm going out with a friend I’ll be home later, bye dad.
DAD
bye(door shuts) love you
(MS)Simon walks out the door and walks to the train station.
While on the train he attempts to call george once more, but
there was no answer from him. At this point Simon starts to
worry about his friend.
EXT. (LS) Simon is heading towards the station so can meet up
with George.
(​HA​)Simon reaches the underpass and starts to walk down. While
walking in the underpass, he passes and MATT knocks into him.
SIMON
Oh sorry mate.
MATT
I’m not your mate piss off
simon brushes it off and continues walking down the path.
Towards the end of the road SIMON stops and hears a metallic
screech. He quickly turns around (LS) to see MATT
walking toward him. SIMON in a moment of panic
turns back round and starts a fast paced walk towards the
other side of the road, he keeps the pace up as he continues
his rout continuously looking back.(LS) SIMON comes out to
opening and stops in his tracks and looks around behind him
frantically. The figure is gone but SIMON is still cautious of
his surroundings constantly looking back.
(LS)(MS)(CU)after some time SIMON reaches Redbridge station
where he gets off as he’s spotted the figure.
the park and heads to the meeting point. SIMON decides to call
GEORGE. Whilst waiting for george to pick up he hears a faint
ringtone in the distance. He follows the direction where the
noise is. On the floor SIMON finds GEORGES phone (cu) the
screen is cracked.
SIMON
(MS)(DT) GEORGE!
Before SIMON has time to properly understand his situation an
arm gets thrown round his neck which pulls him to the ground.
(Cut to black)
Scene 2
INT.(CU)SIMON wakes up on the wooden floor of a
shed. SIMON tries to break free from his bondage
but finds it useless. He turns over to face away from the wall
to find himself looking directly in the GEORGE'S face. His
face is blank and motionless apart from small twitches in his
face.
(CU)(MS)SIMON looks down at georges shirt and notices the
blood stains on them
George what happened what the hell is going on?! What’s up
with those phone calls,
GEORGE
(Sounding a bit beaten firstly, I know you’re not trying to
blame me.
Simon
George
Secondly, keep your voice down, the guy will hear you.
(ls) at this moment both SIMON and George look in the
direction of some heavy footsteps on wooden boards. The door
opens with a creek and MATT steps in with his whole head
covered (hiding his identity, he is holding a homemade weapon.
MATT stands over SIMON and GEORGE menacingly. He then crouches
down slowly.
SIMON
(MS)(HA) ​sits up. Going to prepare himself.(SRS)
What the hell do you want?
MATT
I'm sorry, I thought we were friends. Huh, i guess i thought
wrong
GEORGE
Listen Matt just leave Simon alone
MATT
Shut up. Listen I've brought us all here together can't we
just enjoy this time together
SIMON
Enjoy what.
MATT
Well we're going to have some fun of course.
(MS)looks at SIMON and then GEORGE with an unsettling smile
across his face.
MATT stands up from crouching slowly and smashed the door on
his way out.
SIMON
George we have to get out of this hell
GEORGE
I can’t
SIMON
Yes you can, you have to try
GEORGE
I can’t
SIMON
Why not
GEORGE
Can’t feel my legs. When i got here he hit my back with
something and now i can feel my legs at times
SIMON
When can you walk
GEORGE
Don’t know… i don’t know
Scene 3
INT. (CU) GEORGE and SIMON are laying, faces pressed against
the floor. Motionless. The door handle slowly turndown and the
lock sounds. MATT walks in with a chain and strikes George in
the stomach with it, George coughs out blood.
MATT
Who wants to live?
SIMON
Looks at MATT, then at GEORGE…
We both do
MATT
You can’t both live…
GEORGE
What do you mean?
MATT
Looking at GEORGE
Well, it’s a perfect example of survival of the fittest.
Simply, ​looks at SIMON ​if you both want to die, stay and do
nothing.
SIMON
And if i want to live?
MATT
Kill George
GEORGE
What? N..
MATT
-Do that and I’ll take you to the forest and give you 30
minutes to run for freedom. If i catch you, your fate is his…
the odds are in your favour after all, he can’t walk. You have
12 seconds…
SIMON
C’mon I can’t do it, i w-
MATT
-10 seconds
SIMON
Looks at George, George looks back ​I’m sorry…
GEORGE
No…
SIMON
I have to-
MATT
5 seconds
Simon goes over to George and is proceeding to choke him.
MATT looks at SIMON
George
Don’t do this (SHOUTING) You can’t win like this ​George begins
to choke.
George’s lifeless body is left on the floor
MATT
(MS) after suffocating George, Simon takes a deep breath after
realising what he’s done. After his breath, he is knocked
unconscious by Matt
(cut to black)
Scene 4
EXT. (sound only, the rustling of leaves and the
breaking of twigs with each of the foot steps. The
footsteps stop.) MATT pushes both SIMON and GEORGE to the
ground. MATT removes SIMON’S
MATT
(MS)(CU) MATT leans down to the ground to put mud stripes on
his face.
GEORGE
(CU)looks away from MATT and SIMON and down at the ground
MATT
(MS)leaning down to SIMON'S ear.
Your time starts now
(HA)(CU)MATT takes his seat and places his weapon on his lap,
holding it with his left hand, jogging his knees.
SIMON
(tracking) SIMON is running through the woods constantly
looking back to see if he was being followed by MATT after a
few minutes of running, SIMON is abruptly stopped in his
tracks. He believes that Matt could be nearby, he rests his
hand on a tree as he takes a breather and can feel the wood
has been carved out with “Anathema” written on it and a
reminder: “15 minutes”. He runs to another tree see to
“Anathema” carved on it too. Simon continue to run until he
bumps into George, who is hanging from a tree also
with the word “Anathema” carved on it. Simon is in
disbelief.
SIMON
Oh , George. ​Simon takes George and places him on the floor.
Simon bows his head and closes his eyes. ​I’m sorry George, I
did this and I’m sorry… ​as he opens his eyes and looks at
George he sees that his eyes are open and he is looking at the
bottom of the tree. Simon follows George’s look to see the
words “Time’s up” on the tree. Simon looks back down to see
George has disappeared, Simon rubs his face thinking he may
have been hallucinating. He looks up and sees Matt staring
down at him. A jumpscared Simon backs away until Matt jumps at
him.
The pair begin to fight which leads to Simon being able to win
the battle, leaving Matt for dead, Simon covers Matt's
lifeless body. With exhaustion and with the damage he's
sustained, Simon collapses. When he wakes up he is lying on
the floor, he sees Matt’s body still covered. As he looks up
into the tree, his face lights up until the camera jumps from
the top of the tree and lands on him.
Scene 5
Ext. Matt is walking down the street. He asks a
figure who was wearing exactly what Matt was
wearing in Scene 4.
Matt
Excuse me mate, I was supposed to meet up with my friend
Simon, have you heard of him or know him? ​The figure nods. ​Do
you know where he is?
George
With a smile, wearing what Matt was wearing in Scene 4, turns
around
No, but i know where he was…
(​music intensifies, cut to black)

  • 1. ANATHEMA BY S. Dwyer N. Ahamed B. Goldstone G. Kabasubabo - Koni
  • 2. 19/05/2017 Fade in from title screen Scene 1 EXT. The scene begins outside at the subway with the camera slowly moving towards the exit. The camera shows SIMON suddenly running through the subway in fear and runs past the camera, up the stairs and through the exit. (MS)(CU)​SIMON is ​breathing heavily as he runs through the subway. Simon stops and looks around to see if what he has been running from is anywhere around or near him. He takes out his phone to call 999, then he looks over once more to see if anyone is around him, but he gets snatched. He screams, wakes up with his hand over his mouth as if he has been snatched. Then he realises that he had a nightmare. Camera moves throughout the house and makes way to SIMON’s room. ​Door opens He turns over to go back to sleep, he sees a dark figure and screams. SIMON rubs his eyes and face to make sure he still isn’t dreaming. After rubbing his eyes, the figure disappears, Simon believes he is hallucinating. Simon checks the time on his phone, as he unlocks his phone he sees that he previously dialed 999 as in what happened in the nightmare.
  • 3. (MS) (MS tracking) (HIGH ANGLE) (MCU)Simon takes his phone and keys from his room and walks downstairs. He puts his shoes on and proceeds to head out the door. SIMON I'm going out with a friend I’ll be home later, bye dad. DAD bye(door shuts) love you (MS)Simon walks out the door and walks to the train station. While on the train he attempts to call george once more, but there was no answer from him. At this point Simon starts to worry about his friend. EXT. (LS) Simon is heading towards the station so can meet up with George. (​HA​)Simon reaches the underpass and starts to walk down. While walking in the underpass, he passes and MATT knocks into him. SIMON Oh sorry mate. MATT I’m not your mate piss off simon brushes it off and continues walking down the path. Towards the end of the road SIMON stops and hears a metallic
  • 4. screech. He quickly turns around (LS) to see MATT walking toward him. SIMON in a moment of panic turns back round and starts a fast paced walk towards the other side of the road, he keeps the pace up as he continues his rout continuously looking back.(LS) SIMON comes out to opening and stops in his tracks and looks around behind him frantically. The figure is gone but SIMON is still cautious of his surroundings constantly looking back. (LS)(MS)(CU)after some time SIMON reaches Redbridge station where he gets off as he’s spotted the figure. the park and heads to the meeting point. SIMON decides to call GEORGE. Whilst waiting for george to pick up he hears a faint ringtone in the distance. He follows the direction where the noise is. On the floor SIMON finds GEORGES phone (cu) the screen is cracked. SIMON (MS)(DT) GEORGE! Before SIMON has time to properly understand his situation an arm gets thrown round his neck which pulls him to the ground. (Cut to black) Scene 2
  • 5. INT.(CU)SIMON wakes up on the wooden floor of a shed. SIMON tries to break free from his bondage but finds it useless. He turns over to face away from the wall to find himself looking directly in the GEORGE'S face. His face is blank and motionless apart from small twitches in his face. (CU)(MS)SIMON looks down at georges shirt and notices the blood stains on them George what happened what the hell is going on?! What’s up with those phone calls, GEORGE (Sounding a bit beaten firstly, I know you’re not trying to blame me. Simon George Secondly, keep your voice down, the guy will hear you. (ls) at this moment both SIMON and George look in the direction of some heavy footsteps on wooden boards. The door opens with a creek and MATT steps in with his whole head covered (hiding his identity, he is holding a homemade weapon. MATT stands over SIMON and GEORGE menacingly. He then crouches down slowly.
  • 6. SIMON (MS)(HA) ​sits up. Going to prepare himself.(SRS) What the hell do you want? MATT I'm sorry, I thought we were friends. Huh, i guess i thought wrong GEORGE Listen Matt just leave Simon alone MATT Shut up. Listen I've brought us all here together can't we just enjoy this time together SIMON Enjoy what. MATT Well we're going to have some fun of course. (MS)looks at SIMON and then GEORGE with an unsettling smile across his face. MATT stands up from crouching slowly and smashed the door on his way out.
  • 7. SIMON George we have to get out of this hell GEORGE I can’t SIMON Yes you can, you have to try GEORGE I can’t SIMON Why not GEORGE Can’t feel my legs. When i got here he hit my back with something and now i can feel my legs at times SIMON When can you walk GEORGE Don’t know… i don’t know Scene 3 INT. (CU) GEORGE and SIMON are laying, faces pressed against the floor. Motionless. The door handle slowly turndown and the lock sounds. MATT walks in with a chain and strikes George in the stomach with it, George coughs out blood. MATT Who wants to live?
  • 8. SIMON Looks at MATT, then at GEORGE… We both do MATT You can’t both live… GEORGE What do you mean? MATT Looking at GEORGE Well, it’s a perfect example of survival of the fittest. Simply, ​looks at SIMON ​if you both want to die, stay and do nothing. SIMON And if i want to live? MATT Kill George GEORGE What? N.. MATT -Do that and I’ll take you to the forest and give you 30 minutes to run for freedom. If i catch you, your fate is his… the odds are in your favour after all, he can’t walk. You have 12 seconds… SIMON C’mon I can’t do it, i w-
  • 9. MATT -10 seconds SIMON Looks at George, George looks back ​I’m sorry… GEORGE No… SIMON I have to- MATT 5 seconds Simon goes over to George and is proceeding to choke him. MATT looks at SIMON George Don’t do this (SHOUTING) You can’t win like this ​George begins to choke. George’s lifeless body is left on the floor MATT (MS) after suffocating George, Simon takes a deep breath after realising what he’s done. After his breath, he is knocked unconscious by Matt (cut to black) Scene 4
  • 10. EXT. (sound only, the rustling of leaves and the breaking of twigs with each of the foot steps. The footsteps stop.) MATT pushes both SIMON and GEORGE to the ground. MATT removes SIMON’S MATT (MS)(CU) MATT leans down to the ground to put mud stripes on his face. GEORGE (CU)looks away from MATT and SIMON and down at the ground MATT (MS)leaning down to SIMON'S ear. Your time starts now (HA)(CU)MATT takes his seat and places his weapon on his lap, holding it with his left hand, jogging his knees. SIMON (tracking) SIMON is running through the woods constantly looking back to see if he was being followed by MATT after a few minutes of running, SIMON is abruptly stopped in his tracks. He believes that Matt could be nearby, he rests his hand on a tree as he takes a breather and can feel the wood has been carved out with “Anathema” written on it and a reminder: “15 minutes”. He runs to another tree see to “Anathema” carved on it too. Simon continue to run until he
  • 11. bumps into George, who is hanging from a tree also with the word “Anathema” carved on it. Simon is in disbelief. SIMON Oh , George. ​Simon takes George and places him on the floor. Simon bows his head and closes his eyes. ​I’m sorry George, I did this and I’m sorry… ​as he opens his eyes and looks at George he sees that his eyes are open and he is looking at the bottom of the tree. Simon follows George’s look to see the words “Time’s up” on the tree. Simon looks back down to see George has disappeared, Simon rubs his face thinking he may have been hallucinating. He looks up and sees Matt staring down at him. A jumpscared Simon backs away until Matt jumps at him. The pair begin to fight which leads to Simon being able to win the battle, leaving Matt for dead, Simon covers Matt's lifeless body. With exhaustion and with the damage he's sustained, Simon collapses. When he wakes up he is lying on the floor, he sees Matt’s body still covered. As he looks up into the tree, his face lights up until the camera jumps from the top of the tree and lands on him. Scene 5
  • 12. Ext. Matt is walking down the street. He asks a figure who was wearing exactly what Matt was wearing in Scene 4. Matt Excuse me mate, I was supposed to meet up with my friend Simon, have you heard of him or know him? ​The figure nods. ​Do you know where he is? George With a smile, wearing what Matt was wearing in Scene 4, turns around No, but i know where he was… (​music intensifies, cut to black) THE END.
