Sarah wakes up alone in a dark hospital room lit by a spotlight, connected to an IV drip. She is dressed in a hospital gown and has makeup applied to look pale and show cuts on her face. When she leaves her room, the dark hallway lights begin shutting off, leaving her in darkness. Diegetic sounds like the heart monitor and lights clicking off are exaggerated to build tension as she searches for someone alone. Non-diegetic dramatic music is also used to create suspense as she runs down the hallway and sadness when she finds her daughter did not survive.
