Peter Scott is a mineral operations development and projects professional, from a Western Australian gold
mining family, who grew up in Meekatharra where his father was a prospector, miner and gold producer; discoverer,
owner and operator of the Bluebird and Labouchere gold mines among others.
He has experience in mineral exploration, resource development, resources engineering and industrial engineering
operations and projects. A diverse career has given him experience in most areas of resources development and
developed his communication, administration and business management skills in multidisciplinary technical
environments. Formal training and qualifications in Industrial Design, Groundwater Hydrology and Occupational Health
and Safety with underlying Mechanical Engineering cadetship training underpin his Project Management expertise. He is
committed to developing and maintaining safe working practices and to the principle of continuous improvement.
Education and formative early career:
Mechanical Engineering cadetship, West Australian Government Railways and WA Institute of Technology
(WAIT, now Curtin University), employed full time working with tradesmen at the Midland Mechanical Workshop
major repair and refurbishment facility. Part-time study;
Engineering Assistant, Mt Newman Mining Company (now BHPB) Nelson Point Port Hedland during the
upgrade from 12 to 20 Mtpa;

baseline investigative and regulatory water monitoring in the NT uranium province;

exploration, including seasonal field staff, heliwork and drilling contractors and the seasonal camp in western
Arnhem Land;
Contract Field Manager for various major explorers in northern Australia, managing field programs and staff,

Woodcutters, White Devil, Gecko and Warrego Mines;
Regional Manager Mt Isa, Major Pontil Drilling. Grade control, ore definition and exploration drilling contractor in
northern Australia, sales, client liaison and operational management, turnover ~$10M pa;

permitted, constructed, commissioned and operated Chariot Gold Mine and Mill, $40M project.

integrated mine and iron/steel production heavy industrial plant site, projects to $5M;
Senior Project Manager, Parsons Brinkerhoff (PB) Perth. Management of construction and sustaining capital
resources projects, projects from $5M to $10M;
Project Manager, Sedgman/Intermet Perth. Management of studies, detailed design and construction
assistance for a specialised mineral process engineering company, projects to $12M;
Project Manager, KCGM Kalgoorlie. Managed detailed design, JV and statutory permitting and re-construction
of a $35M major tailings storage facility for Fimiston Operations;
Study Manager, Sedgman Perth. Managed studies, design engineering, projects tenders and bids up to $35M
for an EPC mineral process engineering company.
