Energy- derived from the Greek word
“energia, en, and ergon, meaning “work.”
Anything that is able to do work is said to
possess energy.
- is the ability to do work.
SUN- is the ultimate source of all.

THERMAL ENERGY
Energy that comes from
heat.
ELECTRICAL ENERGY
It is the result of the
movement of an electrical
charge, and is commonly
known to as” electricity”.
ELECTRIC CURRENT- IS
THE FLOW OF
ELECTRONS THROUGH
MATTER.
It is the energy carried by electricity.
RADIANT
ENERGY
Is energy that travels
towards all directions
from the source.
Radiation- is a form of
energy that can move
through empty space. Light is part of radiant
energy.
• Wavelengths are measured by scientist in units called angstrom(A )
1 Angstrom- 4 billionth inch.

Radio waves- Elihu Thompson
Ultraviolet rays are rays beyond the violet
wavelength of light . Ultra is a Latin word which
means “beyond”.
X- Rays- are produced when the electrons hit
any atoms at high speed.
- Physical examination, ultrasound analysis.
- Used to sense remote ares, monitor
animals migrations and pollution of
waterways.

Nuclear Energy- is the
energy in the nucleus, or
core, of an atom.
Atoms- tiny units that

Uses of Sound Waves

2. To study certain disease and
injuries.
3. Used for cleaning.
4. To determine the oceans depths:
study seabed's; and detect fish,
wrecks, and submarines.
Light is a form of energy that
is visible. The Sun is the main
source of light on Earth
