Student Experience Initiatives
 One of the goals of ITT Tech is to assist
  students with obtaining relevant “real world”
  experience while enrolled at ITT Tech.
 Two programs can assist with accomplishing
  this goal:
   Student Professional Experience program
   Classroom partnership projects
 PAC member, your input and advice are
  valuable with respect to these programs.

Student Professional Experience
(SPE)
An SPE is an opportunity for students to
 gain professional experience that relates
 to the knowledge and skills taught in the
 core courses in their programs of study.
An SPE may be paid positions, unpaid
 not-for-credit “internships,” Federal Work
 Study, and/or volunteer work.

Classroom Partnership Projects
Most courses at ITT Tech require hands-
 on exercises for which a student must
 complete a project or parts of a project.
In many cases it is possible to complete
 the class project in partnership with a
 company or non-profit organization.
This provides students with a “real world”
 project and also serves the community.

  descriptions for an Associate Degree Program in
  Business Management and a Bachelor Degree
  Program in Business Management.
 Part of the Spring 2012 PAC Survey will request
  that each PAC member rank these core courses
  in order from most valuable to least valuable.

Student Experience Initiatives  One of the goals of ITT Tech is to assist students with obtaining relevant “real world” experience while enrolled at ITT Tech.  Two programs can assist with accomplishing this goal:  Student Professional Experience program  Classroom partnership projects  PAC member, your input and advice are valuable with respect to these programs. 6

Student Professional Experience (SPE) An SPE is an opportunity for students to gain professional experience that relates to the knowledge and skills taught in the core courses in their programs of study. An SPE may be paid positions, unpaid not-for-credit “internships,” Federal Work Study, and/or volunteer work. 7
  • 8. Classroom Partnership Projects Most courses at ITT Tech require hands- on exercises for which a student must complete a project or parts of a project. In many cases it is possible to complete the class project in partnership with a company or non-profit organization. This provides students with a “real world” project and also serves the community. 8
  • 9. Survey Results – Fall 2011 Please rate the value of the following Student Learning Outcomes with respect to a graduate of an Associate Degree Program in Business Management. Integrate ethics and corporate responsibility in decision-making. 93.5% Demonstrate skills in leadership, team building, and collaboration. 91.1% Apply analytical methods to solve problems in 87.9% accounting, marketing, finance, and management. Communicate business analysis and recommendations in 83.7% presentations. Recognize and adapt to trends in technology. 91.0% Build a project team and communicate effectively with the project team 90.2% and stakeholders. Core Course Review  Review PAC – School of Business handout  The handout contains a listing of core course descriptions for an Associate Degree Program in Business Management and a Bachelor Degree Program in Business Management.  Part of the Spring 2012 PAC Survey will request that each PAC member rank these core courses in order from most valuable to least valuable. 12

Core Course Review Please discuss the importance and value of each course with respect to each degree. The curriculum department will focus on the courses that are most important to employers. The Fall 2012 PAC survey will focus on details of the most valuable courses identified in this Spring 2012 PAC survey. 13
