Organization learning and knowledge management are important for organizations to deal with change, improve performance, and compete effectively. There are three key building blocks for organizational learning - a supportive learning environment, concrete learning processes and practices, and leadership that reinforces learning. Knowledge management involves both codifying knowledge into documents and databases for reuse, as well as facilitating people-to-people connections to share tacit, complex knowledge. Effective knowledge management strategies consider both codification and personalization approaches.

Empathetic Probes & Cues: A Design Principle, Process, and MethodAlexandria Jarvis
The document describes a method for using empathetic probes and cues to sustain group participation and promote positive group dynamics. A task force would first design probes to understand members' internal and external influences on participation. Empathetic agents would then deliver probes to members and provide guidance through cues. By observing changes in responses and behavior over multiple iterations, the task force could assess the impact of empathetic cues on group participation and dynamics. The goal is to help members overcome obstacles to participation through guidance tailored to their individual needs.

Action research is a method that integrates action (implementing a plan) with research (understanding the effectiveness of the implementation). It was developed by Kurt Lewin in the 1940s. Unlike traditional academic research, action research involves participants collaboratively identifying issues in their organization and developing improvement processes. It aims for positive educational change through flexible, ongoing cycles of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Action research can be conducted individually by teachers, collaboratively between teachers, or on a wider scale across entire schools or districts. The goal is to solve practical problems and improve practices in real-world settings.
This document discusses the principles of teaching by design, which involves starting with ideal learning outcomes and working backwards to design teaching activities and assessments aligned to achieve those outcomes. It emphasizes considering environmental factors like the institution, discipline, classroom atmosphere and student cultures that influence learning. The document provides examples of mapping these factors and constructing meaningful learning experiences through connecting course elements, building on prior learning, and transferring knowledge to real-world contexts. It presents teaching design as a creative and analytical process that aims to foster lifelong, complex and constructive learning.

The document discusses plans to incorporate student growth measures into North Carolina's teacher and principal evaluation systems. It proposes using a value-added model called EVAAS to measure student growth for standards 6 and 8. Teachers would receive ratings on a 3-point scale for standard 6 based on their students' growth compared to expectations. Principal ratings for standard 8 would also use school-wide growth measures. After three years of data, educators would receive an overall effectiveness status of In Need of Improvement, Effective, or Highly Effective. Professional development would be tailored based on evaluation results.

Here are some key points to consider in your response:
- Reflective practice is needed to clearly articulate the intended student learning and skills to be developed. Consider program goals, curriculum, and assessment methods.
- Colleagues may perceive writing outcomes as an added task, so emphasize how it improves learning and assessment. Lead by example in writing clear, measurable outcomes.
- Meet with colleagues to understand their goals and challenges. Offer to review draft outcomes and provide feedback using Bloom's taxonomy and SMART criteria.
- Familiarize yourself with resources on the assessment website, Bloom's taxonomy, and examples of well-written outcomes from other programs. Consider developing a guide or template to share.
- Outreach
