1. Scarlett

It’s Autumn 2014 – it’s been a couple years a father passed
away and the mother lost her mind.
There are pictures within the family home, which
reveals history. The family seemed to so love and caring,
everything was perfect. But no one knows the real secret
behind the doors of this 3 story family house. The mother,
Maria lost her mind when he husband tragically died and
didn’t know what to do with the loneliness.
Jump cut to mother at an orphanage wanting to adopt as
this is the only way she is going to have company because
she has no family. The past 6 months has been hell for
Maria and she needs someone… something to help her get over
it. Adopting Scarlett was easy due to her young age and the
limited space within the orphanage. Scarlett is 14 years
old, so she’s old enough to look after herself too.
Scarlett was an abandoned child who has no relation or
family history to get in contact with.
Jump cut to outside Maria’s house and Scarlett looks
nervous to enter. Scarlett’s real character is soon to be
revealed; little does Maria know that Scarlett has powers
that she doesn’t know about. The camera tilts from her feet
to head, Scarlett looking like a typical young girl with a
while flowery dress and hair down to the middle of her
back. The door shuts behind them. Fade to black.
Another jump cut to inside the house – Scarlett is
sitting on the family table, just flicking through the
family album. She notices a man, who is not anywhere to be
seen. She knows straight away that something is wrong. Cuts
to Maria chattering away to Scarlett who seems not be
taking any notice of her. Diegetic sound plays in the
background coming from the TV in the front room.
Scarlett picks out a picture from the album and studies
it hard, the concentration on her face looks like she knows
something, she’s angry with someone. Scarlett speaks. “I
know your secret, I KNOW WHAT YOU’VE DONE!” Fade to black.
Jump cuts to following day – Maria is making dinner
downstairs when she realizes Scarlett outside on the swing
2. staring back at her. With confusion, Maria goes outside to
ask if every things fine, however before she gets there
Scarlett has got up and walked away. Maria starts to
question herself about this girl. Hand held shot of Maria
running up the stairs to question Scarlett. All she sees in
Scarlett writing on the mirror with something that looks
like blood ‘soon’. Within seconds Maria runs down the
stairs, realising that Scarlett knows her secret and
something needs to be done as soon as possible.
Cuts to night of the same day and Scarlett is making
herself at home however Maria is having doubts and might
take her back to the orphanage the next day. Maria exits
closing the door behind her, Scarlett turns around with red
eyes and massive grin on her face, taking out a knife she
touches the tip of the blade.
Quick shots of Scarlett’s real character, close shot of
her face shows her emotions. The red contacts and red eye
bags show her evilness, which also connotes back to her
name.
