 Ledgers
 Braces
 Putlogs
 Transome
 Boarding
 Guard rail
1.STANTARDS
Stantards are the vertical post
2.LEDGERS

*GUARD RAIL
This is a railing provided at a height 0.8-
1.0m above the working platform
TYPES OF SCAFFOLDING
Different types of scaffolding are
 SINGLE SCAFFOLDING
DOUBLE SCAFFOLDING
CANTELEVER
SCAFFOLDING
SUSPENDED
SCAFFOLDING
SINGLE SCAFFOLDING• It consists of only one row of
stantards spaced at about 1.2 m
from wall.
• The spacing between the
stantards is about 2 to 2.4m.
• Ledgers are placed at 1.2 to
1.5m.
• Putlogs rest on ledgers at one
end and on the hole left in the
wall at the other end.
• The spacing of putlogs is 1.2 to
DOUBLE SCAFFOLDING
It consists of 2 rows of
scaffoldings. The first row is at a
distance of 200 to 300mm from the
wall.The type of scaffolding is
required in the construction of stone
wall since its not possible to leave the
holes in the walls to receive putlogs.
CANTELEVER SCAFFOLDING
THIS TYPE OF SCAFFOLDINGS ARE
REQUIRED IN FOLLOWING
CONDITIONS
• The construction work is in the
upper parts of multistorey
buildings.
• The ground is too weak to
receive the strands.
• The space at the ground level is
required to be free of
obstruction
SUSPENDED SCAFFOLDING
This type of scaffolding is
