Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun and was named after the Roman god of agriculture, Kronos. It orbits the sun every 29.4 Earth years and has the fiercest winds in the solar system, reaching speeds of over 1,000 miles per hour. While Saturn has never been visited by humans, probes like Voyager and Cassini have provided data on the planet's size, conditions, and rings composed of ice, dust and frozen gas.

discovered.
- Scientists named the planet saturn after the roman god of agriculture –
Kronos!.
-They thought this would well represent the mighty ringed planet.
- The name saturn means the god of harvest.

-Saturn is between Jupiter and Uranus.
-Saturn is about 890,700,000 miles away from the sun.
-In Saturns location,it takes 29.4 Earth years to orbit the
sun!

- Saturn is 72,367 miles in diameter and has a surface area of 16.49
billion square miles!
- Saturn has the fiercest winds in the solar system, with winds at
speeds of up to 1118 miles per hour around the equator!
- Saturns temperature drops to a whopping 285 degrees fahrenheit!

-Saturn has never been visited by humans.
-Only probes have been sent out to Saturn.
-These probes names are Pioneer 11, Voyager 1, Voyager
2, and the cassini spacecraft.

Saturn is the 2nd largest planet in our solar system and it is one of
five visible to the naked eye! Saturn is also not the only planet
with rings, all the outer planets have them ! Another fact is that
it’s rings are made up of ice, dust, frozen gas, and ‘Space Junk’!

Saturn was one of the five planets visible to the naked eye that have
been known to exist for thousands of years. The Ancient Greeks
knew about the planet and named it after their god of agriculture –
Kronos. The people who discovered Saturn are the ancient Greeks.
However it wasn’t discovered with a telescope but with the
ancient Greek's eyes.
