Software and High School Essay example
Software And High School
The beginning of the 1990 s is marked by the era of computers.
Everywhere we look ,we see computers. They have become an essential part of our every day life.
If the world s computer systems were turned off even for a short amount of time, unimaginable
disasters would occur. We can surely say that today s world is heading into the future with the
tremendous influence of computers. These machines are very important players in the game, the
key to the success however is proper software (computer programs). It is the software that enables
computers to perform a certain tasks. Educational systems in developed countries realize the

Mathematics is one of the scientific fields that has employed the full potential of computer power
complicated problem solving. By using the computer, students learn to solve difficult problems
even before they acquire tough mathematical vocabulary. The Geometer s Sketch pad, a kind of
math software, is used in many Canadian high schools as a powerful math tutor. Students can pull
and manipulate geometric figures and at the same time give them specific attributes. The next best
feature of the software is a drawing document. It allows for easy drawing of perfect ellipses,
rectangles and lines. Over all students marks in the particular subject that have used helpful
software have significantly increased. [mhurych@].
Computers have been used commercially for well over 50, their significant use in modern society
however has never been so high. People rely on computers in every aspect of their lives. Medicine,
engineering and other highly specialized fields of science use computers in their work. Computer
education is very important. It builds the basis for future generations which will be more dependent
on computers than we are today. The usage of computers depends mainly on the software. It is
software that navigates computers through series of commands to a desired goal. Computer

Essay about Understanding Depression
The term depression is widely misused in today s society. All human beings experience periods
in life where they are sad for a relatively short period of time, which is considered normal. Those
who experience sadness for extended periods may be suffering from depression. Two terms used to
reference the classifications of depression, are Major Depressive Disorder, and Dysthymia.
Individual diagnosis of these classifications is dependent on the length of time, and severity of
symptoms experienced by the individual. The causes for these depressive states can be due to
genetics or the insufficient production of neurotransmitters, which provide the brain with the data
necessary to regulate one s psychological well being. Two examples... Show more content on

The purpose of following story is to introduce the symptoms of depression and an appropriate
method to provide positive intervention to help one who may be suffering from a depressive

mean the difference between life and death. Marybeth and Kenny had been friends for as long
as they could remember. They were like peas and carrots always together. If you saw Kenny, you
saw Marybeth and vice versa. As they grow into young teenagers, this friendship continued.
Approaching their senior year in High school, they began to discuss what colleges they would
like to attend. Being from the rural city of Bumpus Mills in the Blue Grass state of Kentucky,
they both had visions of seeing the world and wanted to attend the University of Kentucky (UK),
Located in Boiling Green. Their imaginations ran wild with what life would be like in the big
city. As the year, progressed Kenny and Marybeth excelled in their studies, and submitted their
applications for acceptance to UK. After several weeks Marybeth received her letter of
acceptance. Immediately, she ran next door to Kenny s house and asked if he had received his
letter. Kenny with a sad face expressed that he had received his letter, but the University denied his
application. Marybeth consoled Kenny, as he was her, best friend and

The higher esteem appears in our deep heart. Achieving this level leads us to the advanced level of
needs which brings happiness. Higher esteem comes along with self improvement willingness.
They who passed this level are aware of their self. They eager to change negative qualities in
themselves that could be changed. Arabian proverb said ashlikh nafsaka yashlukhu lakannas .
Correct yourself then others.
The next is Self Actualization comes as part of the higher esteem needs after self improvement
willingness; it is the continuous desire to fulfill potentials, to be all that you can be. They are a
matter of becoming the most complete, the fullest, you . Along with this comes a certain freshness
of appreciation, an ability to see things, even ordinary things, with wonder. They will become more
aware around them. Then with their full potential, they will conscious or unconsciously fill people
needs by doing something. At the end, happiness not only brought to themselves but also to others.
Conclusion
The happiness is often related to the coverage of needs. As people born and grown, they only have
small needs for their survival at the beginning. When their basic survival needs completed, they will
face a test to the next level of needs, failure on the test leads them lost in the basic survival needs
accomplishment. In the other hand, a success in the test brings them awareness towards themselves
and around. This circumstance brings happiness not

Dinosaur National Park and It s Geology
The mountains and rivers stretching between northern Utah and Colorado hold an array of secrets
from the ancient past. While the average tourist admiring the rocks, fossils, and and cliffs of
Dinosaur National Park may get the jist of the park, they may not comprehend the extent to what
it takes for this anomaly to form. Dinosaur National Park is mostly known for not just it s beauty,
but for it s large variety of dinosaur fossils. Even though fossils are found all over the world, this
park is special due to the conditions that the dinosaur fossils came to be in one location of its
exquisite Carnegie Quarry. It was around ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Its past occurrence is recognized by unusual patterns of drainage, changes in accumulating sediment,
and cyclic patterns of sediment deposition (Pederson 1).
( Figure 1. USGS National Geologic Map Database, Map of Dinosaur National Park) The park
was formed on a floodplain and there are many pieces of evidence pointing to this. Some of the
most stunning pieces of evidence are the red mudstones found in the area. This can be very
brightly colored, ranging from red, maroon, or reddish brown, and its banding in the outcrop is
visible from a great distance. The reddish color suggests better drainage and therefore, a drier,
more oxidizing condition on the floodplain (Marano 1). In addition to other traits of the
sandstone, Morano explains These sandstones can be used to determine the direction of flow ,
which would explain the why the expansive colored sandstones are found extensively throughout
the park (Marano 2). Most of the fossils you will find will be in the channel sandstones because
the dinosaurs were washed together before being buried over, the Carnegie Quarry is an excellent
example of this. The Morrison formation overall is considered one of the best spots in the world
for finding dinosaur fossils due to the fact it was subject to the perfect environment for creating
fossils. This was a final destination for thousands of dinosaur fossils and many more that have yet
been excavated.

The Russian Confederation
The Russian Confederation spans two continents and is the largest country in the world. Ethnic
Russians are Caucasian. Russians skin color and features are comparable to European Americans.
They are usually fair complected, and may sunburn easily. Many Russian immigrants in the United
States speak english with varying levels of fluency. Exposure to the English language is due to the
fact that professional literature is often printed in English. Education is very important,
baccalaureate or graduate degrees are anticipated. The attainment of high grades is emphasized and
expected. Financing for education is often contributed by all members of the family, so that it may
be pursued to a high degree. Family is highly valued, grandparents help raise children, especially if
the parents of the children have careers. The needs of the family are considered more important
than individual needs. Large multigenerational households are common. All important decisions,
including healthdecisions, are made after the elders in the family have had an input. Various health
disorders are related to the Russian culture. Russiansthat lived in eastern Europe, close to the
Chernobyl accident, were exposed to high levels of radiation and have a greater likelihood of
developing cancer. Hypertension, cardiovascular disease, hyperlipidemia, diabetes mellitus, and
gastrointestinal disorders are commonly associated with Russians. There is a high percentage of

Mountain Man Brewing Company

Date:| 3/4/2013| Re:| Bringing the Brand to Light| Comments:| For the first time in the company s
history, Mountain Man Brewing Company is experiencing declining sales in response to changes
in beer drinkers preferences. Mr. Prangel s response to this problem is introducing a light beerform
of the popular Lager. In the past six years, the light beer industry as increased at an annual rate of
4% while sales of traditional beer has been declining annually by 4%. Although this seems like a
probable solution, there are two major problems Mr. Prangel is facing: 1.) Mountain Man s current
target market will not approve of this new... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
BREAK EVEN AND BREAK EVEN IN MARKET SHARE IN 2 YEARSBy keeping the same
price for light as the lager, breakeven in dollar amount is almost $10,000,000 which then
translates into 100,473 barrels. Within two years, Mountain Man Light will have to produce
almost $10,000,000 in sales and sale 20% of what Mountain Man Lager has worked almost a
century to sale. As for the market share, Mountain Man Light will need to gain a 26% of the
market share in 2 years to break even. This seems very unrealistic since the leading brand light
beer now consumers 32.9% and the second leading brand holds 17.8% of the market. Mountain
Man Light will have to become the second leading brand in the market within only 2 years
(assuming that the sales of light beer continue to grow annually by 4%). CANNIBALIZATION
RATEBecause Mountain Man Lager produces so many units and produces such high sales already,
the difference in cannibalization of 5% to 20% is pretty significant (almost 1,000,000). Two year
contribution with a 5% cannibalization rate is $32,895,226.42 compared to $31,988,859.59 with a
20% cannibalization rate. This is a major loss in sales of the Mountain Man Lager. If
cannibalization is inevitable, the lower percentage of cannibalization is the best option, it yields a
higher contribution. Anything above 20% is unnecessary and definitely not worth introducing the

The Undivided Declaration Of Rowland High School
In Rowland High School, October 6, 2014.
The Undivided Declaration of Rowland High School,
When in the course of human events, it becomes imperative to shake off the bands of repeated
name callings and falsely given identities which have been connected for so long, and to assume
that the playing field is once again even, giving your undivided attention and respect to the opinions
of the unheard and abandoned as they state why they have decided to stand up against the bullying
and how they plan to write how to isolate themselves from bullying altogether.
We hold these truths to be axiomatic: that all students, no matter their background, ethnicity, or
rank, are created equal in status and in identity; no student is higher than the other. Each student is
equipped with secure and unalienable Rights; that among these rights are Respect, Rightful
Identity, and Freedom of Speech. We also believe that rules are formed to protect these certain
rights and that the power of these rules comes from the power of the students; whenever any part
of the rule fails to protect these rights, it is the right of the students to change it and to form a new
rule that follows such principles which organizes its powers to end in Security and Happiness. Fair
judgment, as a matter of fact, will ordain to say that long prevailing consequences should not be
changed because of trivial, temporary, or fleeting reasons; and, in fact, history proves that students
are more likely to suffer the bullying,

see elements as a percentage of Revenue. Between 2011 12, the portion that cost of sales takes
in revenue has increased however, there is a bigger deterioration in distribution cost. In 2011,
9.21% of revenue remains as profit but in 2012 this figure decreases to 8.14%. Despite reduction
in costs is one of the strategies of Ted Baker(part 1.4), analysis illustrates that costs increase each

This fall indicates that company was not successfully getting high returns as a percentage of its

The Cause And Effects Of Desertification
Introduction
Desertification is the development of desert like conditions in regions that have experienced human
disturbance (Laura, n.d.). Drought, growing population and war are factors affecting
desertification. They have their tremendous impacts; however, they can be solved.
Causes
Drought is one of the most related factors to desertification. It is defined as a long period of time
when there is little or no rain. Drought can be caused by not receiving rain over a period of time.
This is because of climate change which has been affecting us badly since many decades. Moreover,
humans can be the cause too because they use too much water during times of normal rainfall
which leads to the immediate consequence that we might not have enough ... Show more content on

It has been said that growing in population will lead to farming too little land because of crawling
buildings in grasslands. The growing population can cause destruction of grass lands and this can
cause desertification.
Drought and growing populations are not only the two causes of desertification but also there is a
third reason which is war. War happens due to many reasons such as economics, land, resources,
religious beliefs, and importantly power (Halo3Pro, 2011).
War contributes badly to cause desertification. People start eliminating themselves and leaving their
lands empty and dusty. A great example that supports this point is the radiation in Japan. When the
hydrogen bombs dropped on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, thousands of people
were killed. Additionally, the bomb left disastrous environment in the surrounding areas. Chemicals
and poisons had destroyed everything including plants and the most fundamental gas for breathing
which is oxygen. Although war has massive destruction in many areas in the world which ends up
with causing desertification, Oman has been living in peace and it has not been through such

Jonah
Jonah 2: 2 (NKJV) In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me.
What is Jonah s background? Jonah or Jonas is the name given in the Hebrew Bible to a prophet of
the northern kingdom of Israel in about the 8th century BCE. Jonah was the main character of the
book of Jonah. He was the son of Amittai (Jonah 1:1), and a native of Gathhepher, which was a
city of the tribe of Zebulun in the northern Galilee region. Amittai was also a native of Gath
hepher. Amittai is only mentioned twice in the Bible, in 2 Kings 14:25 and Jonah 1:1. Nothing is
known about him, other than that he was Jonah s father. Jonah was a prophet of the Lord and he
was called to deliver a message of repentance to the city of Nineveh which was the capital of the
Assyrian Empire. The Assyrians were among the wicked peoples of the ancient world, and they
were well known for their cruelty.

The Weary Blues By Langston Hughes Analysis
This quote states that you should not give up on your hopes and goals because without them life
would be plain and boring. Good morning Ms Wenman and classmates. I strongly believe that this
quote written by Langston Hughes is powerful and very effective. The poem Dreams was published
in 1926 in the book The Weary Blues. Langston wrote this poem to implement acceptance and
freedom for African Americans. During Langston s time, racism and discrimination against African
Americans was unpleasantly dreadful. They were treated poorly, unfairly and yet they didn t do
anything wrong. This poem emphasises that even though African Americans may look different, it

Aimless? Purposeless? Life without a dream would affect your everyday life as you would lack
determination. You would have nothing to work towards which could make your life tedious

everyday life keeps moving forward. When you dream, don t just dream and stop halfway. I
know sometimes you get lazy and you don t want to chase your dream anymore and I know you
may have tried multiple times so what s gonna hurt getting back up and trying again. When you
don t succeed that goal, you will feel like a worthless failure. So here I stand urging you to go for
the gold. Commit to all your dreams. Because when you give up 1 dream, that s one step back, 2
dreams that s 2 steps back. Do not let yourself live life going backwards. If you do, you ll end up
at the very beginning and you ll have to start all over again. Your dream is a marathon. You don t
have to be the first to finish and it doesn t matter if you come last. All that matters is the journey it

How Religion Has Influenced The Life Of A Nun
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another? (Jn
13:35)What is a committed religious life for being a Catholic sister or nun. Catholic sister and nuns
have a different variation of lifestyle, ministries and callings. All community has its own peculiar
identity and flavor, this is because there are no two association, as there is no two nuns that are the
same. As we watch movies about nuns we sometimes predict sisters and nuns to be living a highly
ordered life which is unchanging in structure which is repetitive in context. But the truth is that
there may be some regular customs and practices, a day in Catholic sister and nunlife as it is
diverse, especially as the Holy Spirit is in charge.
As a day in a life of nuns are constructed around service within the chapel because by joining a
convent or nunnery, nuns have to make a choice to devote their life to God. Religion has influenced
the life of a nun. A lot of convents do have its own particular daily timetable for a nun as many do
the following similarly:
the first day of services 02.00: Matins Laud
After Matins Laud, nuns would go back to bed and would get up again at first light. She then
would go and wash and have a breakfast which consist of bread and beer. This is because of the
boiling process involved in the making of beer.( it was a lot less dangerous to drink beer than water.)

the New York Times written by Richard Taruskin entitled Nationalism: Colonialism in Disguise ,
Taruskin explains how musicians these days are using nationalism, strong patriotic feelings
toward ones country, as a disguise for colonialism in order to be recognized as a well known
composer such as Beethoven or Brahms. One American composer, Louis Moreau Gottschalk, can
also be seen as somebody who uses nationalism in order to disguise his colonialist views. In this
paper, I hope to prove how Gottschalk s Bamboula is really colonialism in disguise and... Show

These higher forms of art refer to German composers such as Bach, Beethoven, Brahms who
were always considered some of the top composers to musicologists all over the world. Here,
Taruskin tries to explains to the readers that Dvorak didn t compose his New World Symphony to
be a purely American piece; he composed it piece to promote German musical colonialism! In
order to fully understand Bamboula and how Gottschalk used nationalism to disguise his colonialist
views, it is important to know a little bit about Gottschalk s history. Louis Moreau Gottschalk, 1829
1869, was an American pianist and composer born in New Orleans to a Jewish father and a French
mother. He was one of the most significant 19th century American musicians and wrote musicthat
influenced the rise of ragtime (Grove Music dictionary). According to Burkholder, Gottschalk was
the first American composer wth an international reputation (Burkholder, 2014). At age 5,
Gottschalk studied piano and organ and at age 12 he went to Paris for more training. He also
toured France, Switzerland, and Spain in 1845 52 and Chopin even named him the king of
pianists when he heard Gottschalk play at one of his concerts. Gottschalk s pieces were mainly
based off of tunes and rhythms from his mother s Caribbean heritage. This was probably the case

Roles Of Women In The Crucible
The roles of the women in the drama are significant because of the way they shape the story and
help the reader understand the nature of one of the strangest events in human history. Throughout
the novel, women are portrayed in many different ways. Some are shown as being good and moral
people while others the complete opposite. Arthur Miller s treatment of women in this play show
women as weak beings who give into their husbands. Each women in the drama plays a significant
role in showing the different archetypes there were among women especially Mary Warren,
Elizabeth Proctor, and Abigail Williams. In addition, Kohlberg s Moral Stages are six
developmental stages of human moral reasoning which can tie into the view in which we have
of the women in the play. The roles in which women play in the drama are very significant due to
the fact that they are able to shape the story and give an idea of the nature of one of the strangest
events which we call the witch trials. In the play, women are depicted as weak creatures who are
expected to submit to men, and whose only access to power is through dishonest means which we
see a lot through certain characters. No women in the Crucible possesses extreme power and with
the lying and dishonest females having the most power through despicable acts, only means for the
truthful, pure hearted, and family orientated women to be the least powerful. More specifically,
women from the drama who fit into these archetypes are Mary Warren,

What Was The Significance Of The 1832 Reform Act
The Passing of the 1832 Reform Act
During the early part of the 19th Century reform was placed low on the political agenda. This
was perhaps due to the Napoleonic Wars with France which showed people the damaging effects
war could have on the country. However, in 1819 the arguments concerning the reformation of
parliament came back into the public s conscious. The growing role of the media acted as a new
method of informing the public of their rights and the need for action. People were also being
made aware through public meetings held by radical MP s that favoured reform. It is therefore not
hard to see why in 1832 the Great Reform Act was passed.
Old Corruption was the name given to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some had been prosperous medieval towns but were almost completely depopulated but despite
this up to four MP s could be sent to Parliament from each area. These, as a result, became know as
rotten boroughs because they were giving a true representation of the people of England. It was the
large, industrial towns that needed this number of MP s in parliament but these often went totally
unrepresented.
In addition to this the actual elections were also false. Two thirds of elections were uncontested
because people could not afford to stand against the successful candidate. The election process was
not conducted on a single day but held over a number of weeks. The result might not be know for 2
months. There was no voting in secrecy. Voting took place on a platform amid an atmosphere of
drunkenness and sometimes violent intimidation. Corruption was rife in terms of treating, cooping
and the hiring of lambs. It is therefore reasonable that people called for reform in 1832.
The 1832 Reform Act was seen at the time to be a solution to an ongoing problem highlighted by
popular unrest. It attempted to correct the failings of Old Corruption whilst ensuring the elites in
society retained their grip on power. The Act consisted of two essential elements, the redistribution
of seats and the remodelling and systemising of the franchise. The Act released 143 seats that were

Critical Appreciation Of Waiting For Godot
On Thursday the 12, I attended the performance of the play Waiting for Godot at the Fannin
Performance Hall. This play was centered around two friends Vladimir and Estragon who are in the
conquest of meeting someone named Godot; throughout their adventure, you meet various
characters that influence the story and it also it makes the two main characters and their views on
life pop out as well as their actions and words. At the beginning, both Vladimir and Estragonwere
confused on where they were and who exactly they were going to meet they are usually played
with Irish accents the play has a political undertone meaning that everything that is said and the
way that is said has often a double meaning. In the play you find a variety of archetypes and the
way that they fit in the script is very impressive because these archetypes have direct contact with
each other, and although they are all on the same platform meaning that you can see that Pozzois
better off than the duo and he is obviously in a better socioeconomic position than they are but he
doesn t treat them as animals although he does treat them as inferior he doesn t treat them like he
treats lucky. This is an important because on the political and social side of the play it is the very
way that rich treat the poor or the way that a cast system comes into confrontation you see how
much Pozzo has in comparison to others and you wonder why he couldn t offer them food you can
ask yourself a lot of these kinds of

Operant Learning Theorists
Part 1
Behavior is explained as a response to a given stimulus. There are two theories which explain how
we learn. These are classical conditioning and operant learning as explained by B.F Skinner and.
Ivan Pavlov .In classical conditioning, there are responses, usually involuntary which are as a result
of experiences which occur before the response in question. This conditioning occurs when one
learns to associate two different stimuli. Operant conditioning, on the other hand, changes in
behavior which result from experiences which occur after the said response result in learning. This
involves changes in voluntary behaviours.
These two theories share many procedures and basic principles. The basic principles of extinction,
spontaneous recovery, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Such a schedule causes a high and steady rate of responding. Examples of reward based on
variable ratio schedules are gambling and lottery . A fixed ratio schedule , on the other hand,
refers to a reinforcement schedule where a response is only reinforced after a specified number of
responses. These schedules produce a high and steady rate of responding but with a brief pause
after the delivery of the given reinforcer.
An experiment to show the application of reinforcement can be given as follows. A rat is placed
in a skinner box. The Skinner box is such that it has a bar or lever which the rat can press or
manipulate in a given way when it wants to obtain either food or water from the reinforcer. In the
experiment, the box provides also a means of recording the various responses of the animal. In the
experiment, various schedules of reinforcement will be applied and the responses of the rat
recorded.
The rat then will receive a food pellet whenever they manipulate the lever. Some rats will receive
a food pellet each time they peck the lever and others receive food pellets after manipulating the
lever for a given number of times say

The Differences Of The Odyssey By Homer s The Odyssey
Odyssey Essay!
The amazing epic poem by Homer entitled The Odyssey shares many similarities and many
differences as well with the Hallmark movie of the same name. The epic poem is about the hero
Odysseus who has spent twenty long years filled with toil and loss, through war and sea desperate
to return to his home of Ithaca. Odysseus has angered some of the gods and goddesses of a Greek
Mythology with his destruction of the mighty city of Troy. Odysseus is represented in the poem
and the movie, but there are several differences between the two in the events he encountered.
There are also numerous similarities
For starters, the setting of the movie and the poem are both centralized around Ithaca and
scattered Islands of Greece. The Greek mythology was also a main theme in the two, such as
Odysseus s protection by The goddess Athena and the hatred be Odysseus and Poseidon. One of
the more difficult aspect that the movie had gotten spot on was the displaying of Odysseus s
leadership throughout the God s (mainly Poseidon s) wrath and the ever enduring seas of Greece.
However throughout all of the hardships his crewmen remained loyal to him and his faith that they
would one day return to the shores of Odysseus s mighty Kingdom of Ithaca.
Another main similarity between the poem and the movie but put into more depth in the movie is
how the people of Ithaca where dealing with Odysseus s absence. Penelope stayed faithful to
Odysseus while also keeping the promise of marrying

James Earl Rudder Research Paper
Many leaders past and present in society have influenced the development of Army leadership.
One of the most influential leaders is James Earl Rudder. Rudder enlisted in the U.S. military in
1932 as a commissioned officer in the Army Reserves right after completing his degree in
industrial education from Texas A M. In 1933, Rudder became a teacher and taught football at
Brady High School later becoming a football coach and teacher at Tarleton Agricultural College.
Rudder married Margaret Williamson in June 1937 whom he had five children. Rudder was
called to active duty in 1941, approximately two years after the start of World War II (WWII). In
1943 as a Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Rudder took command of Second Ranger Battalion, later
named Rudder s Rangers (Todd IV Knape, 2010). Rudder s Rangers played a significant role in
the D Day invasion by storming the beach at Pointe du Hoc under constant enemy fire, scaling 100
meter cliffs with unreliable radio communications between his troops, reached and destroyed
German Gun Batteries. General Omar N. Bradley the American ground commander selected
Rudder s Ranger s, a group approximately 500 hand selected Soldiers trained by Rudder

Write An Argumentative Essay On Flibanserin
Female Viagra May Get Approved by FDA This Week Flibanserin, a drug designed to increase
libido in women also known as female Viagra , could be approved by the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration this week. FDA approval of the female Viagra would be unprecedented, as no
such drug has ever been approved before. WHAT IS FLIBANSERIN? Unlike Viagra, flibanserin
aims to raise libido by targeting the female brain s pleasure center instead of the genitals.
Proponents of the cite the lack of a female equivalent to Viagra. Unlike men, there is no drug on

Summary Of The Federalist Papers
The Federalist Papers are a collection of 85 essays and articles written by three of the most
prominent men in early United States history: Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay.
All of these essays were written to try to ratify the United States Constitution. Seventy seven were
published serially in The Independent Journal and The New York Packet between October 1787
and August 1788. A compilation of these and eight others, called The Federalist; or, The New
Constitution, was published in two volumes in 1788 by J. and A. McLean. The collection s

Federalist No. 10, in which Madison discusses the means of preventing rule by majority faction
and advocates a large, commercial republic, is generally regarded as the most important of the
85 articles from a philosophical perspective; it is complemented by Federalist No. 14, in which
Madison takes the measure of the United States, declares it appropriate for an extended republic,
and concludes with a memorable defense of the constitutional and political creativity of the
Federal Convention.[3] In Federalist No. 84, Hamilton makes the case that there is no need to
amend the Constitution by adding a Bill of Rights, insisting that the various provisions in the
proposed Constitution protecting liberty amount to a bill of rights . Federalist No. 78, also
written by Hamilton, lays the groundwork for the doctrine of judicial review by federal courts
of federal legislation or executive acts. Federalist No. 70 presents Hamilton s case for a one man
chief executive. In Federalist No. 39, Madison presents the clearest exposition of what has come
to be called Federalism . In Federalist No. 51, Madison distills arguments for checks and balances

refers to the process that took place in Europe during the 16th and 19th century, this process
involved domestic industries which produced goods for international markets. The local producers
for the proto industries included peasants which worked on farmers and still managed to do

Umbilical Cord Blood Harvesting
I. Introduction A. Attention getting opener: There is a critical need for effective, long term
solutions for harvesting stem cells. Already there are more than 300,000 units stored worldwide.
These products have been banked under stringent quality conditions, in order to ensure their
safety and efficacy, (Vladareanu, Mihailescu Zvanca, 20070, p. 142). B. Credibility statement:
Abundant research shows that harvesting stem cells from umbilical cord blood offers crucial
advantages over other methods, including bone marrow and peripheral blood. C. Thesis:
Although not an ideal medium for harvesting, and will not replace other types of stem cell
sources, umbilical cord blood should be an integral part of the blood/tissue bank repertoire. II.
Advantages of using umbilical cord blood. A. Immunology 1. Umbilical cord blood (UCB)
contains stem and progenitor cells capable of restoring haematopoietic and immunological
function in vivo, (Navarette Contreras, 2009, p. 236). 2. Umbilical cord blood stem cells can be
transplanted to regenerate a patient s immune system, (Vladareanu, Mihailescu Zvanca, 20070, p.

Essay about Comparing The Epic of Gilgamesh with The Odyssey
The Epic of Gilgamesh and The Odyssey both are held in high respect by literature analysts and
historians alike for the characterization of the hero and his companion, the imagery brought to mind
when one of them is read, and the impressive length in relation to the time period it was written in.
The similarities that these two epics share do not end with only those three; in fact, the
comparability of these works extend to even the information on the author and the archetypes used.
However, The Odysseyand The Epic of Gilgameshcontrast from one another in their writing styles,
character details, and main ideas. Both epics weave together a story of a lost man who must find

In these two epics, the major themes are the concept of good versus evil and the conflicts of man
versus man, man versus self, and man versus nature. In The Epic of Gilgamesh, the King of
Uruk represented good while Humbaba and the snake represented evil. Compared to The
Odyssey, the Sumerian epic consists of a smaller representation for both good and evil.
Odysseus represented good, but so does his son, Athena, and many of the gods that help him.
Antinous, the rest of the suitors, Polyphemus, Circe, as well as many others were on the evil
side of the equation for this epic. The concept of good versus evil coincides with the conflict of
both man versus man and man versus self. Odysseus and Gilgamesh both engaged in both types
of conflict, but Gilgamesh experienced more of the latter conflict while Odysseus experienced
more of the former. Odysseus s adventures involved more of man versus man conflicts because of
how often he had to fight a physical being. For example, Odysseus and his men blinded
Polyphemus by ramming a hot spear deep into his [Polyphemus] crater eye (qtd. in Prentice Hall
Lit. 992). In addition, Odysseus and his son, Telemachus, had to fight off more than a hundred
suitors near the end of the epic. Gilgamesh had plenty of experiences with man versus man conflict,
such as his first fight with Enkidu, his fight with Humbaba, as well as his arguments with the gods.
However, the man versus self conflict seemed

were supposed to read over a short period of time we will be calling that list A. After the fixed
time that was given to read each word was over, they were presented with another list; list B,
containing the words from list A along with many other words that were initially not on list A.
After the experiment was conducted, the goal was to see how many of the words could the brain
assume to have read that was not actually offered in list A. This experiment proves that our brain
groups together schemas, and an example of this would be suppose, if there was a group of words
such as rest, snore, bed, and tired then our brain will automatically associate... Show more content

This process in the brain is known as pragmatic inferences. An example of how these inferences
have an effect on our memory was presented by an experiment where the participants had to read
sentences such as Jerry was working on fixing his wardrobe, when his wife heard him pound nails
into the wood, then she came in and offered to help. Similar to this, when a variation of sentences
was presented and asked to identify what the participants had just read, 57% of participants said
that Jerry was trying to fix the wardrobe with a hammer... , even though, a hammer was never
mentioned in the sentence. Our brain associates the action, pounding nails, with the tool, hammer,
causing the brain to generate a false memory of what they just read. The cognitive task on False
Memory implements the theory of how schemas and pragmatic inferences has an effect on the
accuracy of the details in our memory. One crucial fact about false memory is that it arises from the
same constructive process that produces true

The United States Housing Bubble
On September 15th 2008, Lehman Brothers, one of the United States largest investment banks,
declared bankruptcy. This event occurred during the Great Recession, a time period where
economic activities in the United States had significantly declined in the early 21st century. The
Great Recession occurred for numerous reasons; however the primary reasons are due to the
housing bubble as well as the subprime mortgage backed securities. What made matters worse
during the recession was the day September 29, 2008 when congress could not come in agreement
to pass a bailout plan that would have otherwise saved Lehman Brothers. The period of its collapse
is an interesting part of United States finance industry s history; this is primarily due to the
frequency that which this sort of event can occur actually occur in real world economics. The
United States housing bubble is an example that is applicable to the black swan theory. This
theory is summarized as, An event or occurrence that deviates beyond what is normally expected
of a situation and that would be extremely difficult to predict. ( Black Swan Theory ). The severity
of the housing bubble effect had rendered the Fed s primary tool of open market operations to be
ineffective. The Fed had to rely on other measures that are infrequently used; in this case was
quantitative easing. Quantitative easing is the injection of reserves into circulation to promote
economic activity as well as decrease the unemployment rate. This

Masculinity In The Film The Mask You Live In
Usually when I think about a mask, I think about scary halloweens and fake goblins, but people
have been wearing invisible mask for their whole lives without knowing. There is nothing fake
about the invisible mask that men have to wear, but it is indeed scary. In the film, The Mask
You Live In, directed by Jennifer Siebel Newsom, explores how our culture s narrow definition
of masculinity is harming our boys and men. The film educates the viewers about the emotional
expression, suicide rates, and sexuality of men. MAN UP! Men don t cry are words that sound
all too familiar to me; I was told this while growing up as a young boy in America. I, along with
majority of males in the United States, were taught that crying or showing any form of sadness was
a females trait. Society believes that a man should be mentally strong, and showing those... Show

young as elementary school student, feels pressured to have relations with females, which is very
premature thought. The comparison of who gets more girl leads to insecurities, and those
insecurities leads to a man to develop hyper masculine qualities. According to the class text,
hypermasculinity is the exaggeration of male stereotypical behavior, such as an emphasis on
physical strength, aggression, and sexuality. Hypermasculinity is toxic to the progression of society
because it perpetuate stereotypes that men should be extremely manly and if he is not, than he is
soft or homosexual . Masculinity should not be measured by sexual conquest, in fact masculinity
should not be measured at all, society should realize that not all males will be the same, this idea

Critical Review Of Educating Rita
Review of Educating Rita
Educating Rita is a dramatic and comedic play about the differences in social class and education in
Britain. The play takes place in the nineteen seventies to the nineteen eighties and is furthermore
written by English playwright, lyricist, and composer William Russell. William Russell, also
known as Willy Russell, was once a hairdresser himself, just like Rita. Though, today he is better
known as the playwright of many successful plays, such as Shirley Valentine and Blood Brothers.
Educating Rita is a play about twenty seven year old Rita from Liverpool. Rita is married to her
husband Denny, who is never seen on stage, and works as a women s hairdresser. Rita lives a
mediocre life as a part of Britain s working ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The director of the play was Barry McKenna, who has previously directed for That Theatre. He
has also directed modern versions of various famous Shakespeare plays, for instance, Twelfth
Night. With Barry McKenna s previous experiences with interpreting classical plays, I had very
high hopes for his interpretation of Educating Rita.
In Educating Rita, only two people are shown on stage, Rita and Frank. Dawn Wall, a British
actress, played the role of Rita, and Ian Burns played the role of Frank. Ian Burns is British as
well and is also the co founder of That Theatre. Furthermore, he has featured in multiple other
plays, in Denmark and directed by Barry McKenna, such as Proof and Blood Brothers.
Language is of very high importance in Educating Rita. Dawn Wall made a great effort in
emphasizing Rita s roots and social status by staying in a Liverpool inspired Scouse accent, almost
throughout the entire play. This was in stark contrast to Frank s posh and upper class dialect which
was combined with a very intellectual and wide vocabulary. Dawn Wall s way of speaking, use of
slang and multiple vulgar words, definitely gave her character much more life than Ian Burn s
character Frank. In addition to that, Rita also had multiple outfit changes whereas Frank stayed in
the same shirt, positioning the same sweater in different ways on himself throughout the

Forensics of Blood
Forensics of Blood Blood evidence is the most common, most recognized and possibly most
important evidence in the world of criminal justice. Throughout the history of violent and fatal
crimes, bloodstain evidence has recently begun to emerge as a recognized forensic skill. Blood is
one of the most significant and frequently encountered types of physical evidence associated with
forensic investigation of death and violent crime (Eckert amp; James, 11). When a violent crime
has been committed, bloodis commonly left behind at the scene of the crime. This blood evidence
allows police investigators to piece together the events of the crime. The texture, size, shape, and
distribution of the blood can be used to determine when the crime... Show more content on

After spraying luminol, in a darkened room, the luminol will react with the iron in the hemoglobin
of the blood which catalyzes the luminescence. This reaction causes the emission of a blue glow
lasting for approximately 30 seconds. Although luminol is useful in detecting small traces of blood,
there are some disadvantages to using it. One disadvantage is the sensitivity of the solution and the
blood itself. 75 years ago, luminol was introduced to the forensic field as a blood search technique.
Since its introduction, much investigation has been done to enhance the solution in order to get a
longer and more intense/brighter luminescence reaction with the blood. Besides the importance of
the pH level of the solution, most of these investigations came to the conclusion that adding more
chemicals and/or solution enhances the brightness and duration of the reaction. However, this
process also potentially damages the DNA and bloodstain pattern itself. Up till now, hardly any
investigation has been done into the enhancement of the catalyst in this reaction process: the blood
(haemoglobin) itself (Eversdijk, 12). The chemiluminescence of luminol can occasionally be
activated by compounds containing copper, bleaching chemicals, animal blood, fecal matter,
semen, and even saliva. To determine if a substance is blood, forensic investigators can perform
other tests. The Kastle Meyer test is another

Traver Creek Reflective Essay
Hello, I am Madeline Mercier. I m a freshman at Community High School, I am currently in the
Foundations of Science Course 1. Within this course, my classmates and I evaluated, tested and
reviewed the health of sections 0 1050 ft of Traver Creek. Specifically gathering data on the
Benthic populations, as well as their Taxa. The class of 2016took detailed descriptions of the
physical appearance of the creek and surrounding areas. We even tested the water to find
necessary information on the health of the creek through our chemical tests. According to the
2016 Traver Creek Data of Sections 0 1050 ft Traver Creek is unhealthy. Averages of Traver Creek

In sections 0 1050 ft Bank Erosion, Habitat Diversity, and Embeddedness are lower than
preferred. Bank Erosion is at 2.3 out of 4, this proves that the sections banks are getting eroded
with particles dissolving into the waters. Traver Creeks Habitat Diversity grade is 2.5/4,
specifically this states that in some areas the vegetation is less diverse and cannot absorb
harmful chemicals before they get to the creek. These chemicals could harm the organisms
greatly in the Creek. Embeddedness which displaces many organisms by removing their natural
habitat, is at 2.7/4. This is strips many organisms of their grounds and nests as is becomes more
and more scarce. The flow rate is at 2.22 ft/s this is a safe speed for the Creek it s not too fast that
organisms get flushed downstream and it s not too slow that the organisms will suffocate. Once
again, but more importantly buffers need to be set in place to stop runoff from getting into the

The Hobbit Greed
American literature
In The Hobbit we are exposed to a world were the most unanticipated and simple creatures are
expected to fulfill a great destiny or special purpose. These callings are similar to ones we find in
our faith. Throughout the book we see themes of prophecy, the unexpected strength of an underdog,
and corruption through greed which all coincide nicely with Christianity. Tolkien s work not only
retains gods word but he expands on it through the exciting world of a small hobbit named Bilbo.
Initially, In order for the company to reach its destination (the lonely mountain) they must seek
advice in Rivendell, where the elvish king Elrond is asked to not only identify the swords but to
also interpret Thorin s map. As Elrond observes the moon letters he reads, stand by the grey stone
when the thrush knocks, and the setting sun with the last night of Durin s day will shine upon the
key hole. (Tolkien 53) . just as the maps authors had predicted there was a key hole that appeared
to Bilbo granting him entrance into the mountain. Another prophecy is the impact of the dwarves

the company even accurately described him as looking more like a grocer burglar (18). His overall
appearance does display that he is not fit to be a hero, but he is chosen as most underdogs are.
Bilbo is expected to play a role in a story that s much more exceptional then he is aware of, just as
we are called to fulfill our own roles on Earth. Gandalf even states at the closing of the hobbit you
don t really suppose do you that all your adventures and escapes were managed by pure luck just
for your sole benefit? You are a fine person, Mr. Baggins , and I am very fond of you ; but you are
only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all! (

Summary Of The Physical Possibility Of Death In The Mind...
Damien Hirst s The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living is a
sculpture of a shark entombed in a rectangular steel vitrine. The vitrine is designed so that it
looks like it is divided into three cubes. The steel that splits up the vitrine into these cubes is
painted white. Inside the vitrine, the shark is entirely frozen in what looks like clear, blue water.
It is positioned so that it is in the center of the tank. From a side view, the shark s head pops out
of the first cube, its body is in the middle cube, and its tale pops out of the third cube. The shark
has its mouth wide open, showing off its sharp teeth. It looks like it was about to attack someone
or something just before it was frozen in place. From a front view, the insides of the shark can be
seen.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

in an ocean with this shark and it was not frozen in place, then he or she would most likely not
make it out of that ocean alive. Avoiding death in that situation would be The Physical

Unit Three: Lab Questions
1. What is the crime that the video focuses on?
The kidnapping and death of Charles Lindbergh Jr. The son of Charles Lindbergh was abducted
from his family home in 1932.
2.What evidence did investigators have about the crime in the 1930s?
That whoever kidnapped the baby used a ladder leaned up against the right side of the baby s
unlocked window. Also that they silence the baby because the parents did not hear any sign of
struggle from the room. Also that the criminals left the ladder next to a service road and used a
car to get away. They also left a ransom note on the babys window demanding 50,000 dollars for
the baby s safe return. Plus threatening Lindberg if he involved the police.
3. What ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What evidence exists to suggest that he wasn t involved?
John Knoll was heard talking about the town that Lindbergh lived in. Also talking about the name
Bruno. Plus the person that was given the ransom money was named John. The last thing is the
man who received the ransom money described the man and he looked just like John Knoll, and he
had an abnormality on his hand which John Knoll did too.
7. What evidence exists to suggest that Charles Lindbergh himself was involved in the kidnapping
and death of his son? Do you agree or disagree with this theory? Why?
Well for the kidnappers to know that the Lindberghs were at the house they had to have inside
source. Lindbergh did not trust the police, used his influence to control the police, and kept all
the ransom notes. Also Lindbergh was said to think that his son was not going to be healthy and
big like most men. His feelings of having an imperfect child could have caused him to be
involved. Yes i do agree with this theory because men tend to be like that. They let what other
people think get to them. A man like that who everyone thinks is perfect having an imperfect child
is a bad thing to him. He probably wanted to keep that position of people thinking he is perfect and
his family is too.
8. What evidence exists to suggest that Charles Lindbergh himself was involved in the kidnapping
and death of his son? Do you agree or disagree with this theory? Why?

The Media s Ability to Control Our View of the World Essay
With the coming of television and the internet, are we or are we not a more informed community?
(Orwell, 1984) Essentially, this statement requires a profound study in order to determine the
impact of news media ability to control the agenda and ultimately impact our view of the world.
First, let us differentiate these two sources of communication because there is a major difference
between television and internet as a mass media communicating tool. Television focuses more on
broad commercial needs of people and is highly dependent on paid advertisement compared to the
internet, which is closer to very specific needs. In other words, television advertisement and
programming are tailor made to get a larger audience in order ... Show more content on

Therefore the context in which advertisement operates relates to news mass media s ability to
influence people.
The influence of advertisement is proportional to the frequency of repetition of the same message.
People in the advertisement business, often call advertisement by using the word media.
Advertisement or media is achieved by printing newspapers and magazines; or spoken
announcement in television and radiobroadcasts; or display posters on the internet. (Previte, 1999)
There are various rating methods used to estimate the number of people who listen to any
particular advertisement. This is very important in order to establish the cost of the product
advertised. The Sponsor paying for the advertisement is usually required to contract for a series of
programs. These programs have to be acceptable to the media used to display the advertisement.
The advertisers are remunerated accordingly in proportion to the rating the program. Specialized
firms do the rating independently, in order to avoid conflict of interest. The rating determines the
cost of the message and is proportional to the number of people reached. (Morehead, 1966)
The hypothesis formulated in this paper is that news media s ability to control the agenda and
impact our world views is not as important as it seems.

All human beings experience periods in life where they are sad for a relatively short period of time, which is considered normal. Those who experience sadness for extended periods may be suffering from depression. Two terms used to reference the classifications of depression, are Major Depressive Disorder, and Dysthymia. Dinosaur National Park And It s Geology Marcus Isaac Harris Dr. EchoHawk Physical Geology 1010 October 31, 2015 Dinosaur National Park and It s Geology The mountains and rivers stretching between northern Utah and Colorado hold an array of secrets from the ancient past. While the average tourist admiring the rocks, fossils, and and cliffs of Dinosaur National Park may get the jist of the park, they may not comprehend the extent to what it takes for this anomaly to form. Dinosaur National Park is mostly known for not just it s beauty, but for it s large variety of dinosaur fossils. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Its past occurrence is recognized by unusual patterns of drainage, changes in accumulating sediment, and cyclic patterns of sediment deposition (Pederson 1). ( Figure 1. USGS National Geologic Map Database, Map of Dinosaur National Park) The park was formed on a floodplain and there are many pieces of evidence pointing to this. Some of the most stunning pieces of evidence are the red mudstones found in the area. This can be very brightly colored, ranging from red, maroon, or reddish brown, and its banding in the outcrop is visible from a great distance. The reddish color suggests better drainage and therefore, a drier, more oxidizing condition on the floodplain (Marano 1). In addition to other traits of the sandstone, Morano explains These sandstones can be used to determine the direction of flow , which would explain the why the expansive colored sandstones are found extensively throughout the park (Marano 2). Most of the fossils you will find will be in the channel sandstones because the dinosaurs were washed together before being buried over, the Carnegie Quarry is an excellent example of this. The Morrison formation overall is considered one of the best spots in the world for finding dinosaur fossils due to the fact it was subject to the perfect environment for creating fossils. This was a final destination for thousands of dinosaur fossils and many more that have yet been excavated. One of the best places to find ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mountain Man Brewing Company Mountain Man Brewing Company| To:| Chris Prangel| From:| 001706975| CC:| David Nasser| Date:| 3/4/2013| Re:| Bringing the Brand to Light| Comments:| For the first time in the company s history, Mountain Man Brewing Company is experiencing declining sales in response to changes in beer drinkers preferences. Mr. Prangel s response to this problem is introducing a light beerform of the popular Lager. In the past six years, the light beer industry as increased at an annual rate of 4% while sales of traditional beer has been declining annually by 4%. Although this seems like a probable solution, there are two major problems Mr. Prangel is facing: 1.) Mountain Man s current target market will not approve of this new... BREAK EVEN AND BREAK EVEN IN MARKET SHARE IN 2 YEARSBy keeping the same price for light as the lager, breakeven in dollar amount is almost $10,000,000 which then translates into 100,473 barrels. Within two years, Mountain Man Light will have to produce almost $10,000,000 in sales and sale 20% of what Mountain Man Lager has worked almost a century to sale. As for the market share, Mountain Man Light will need to gain a 26% of the market share in 2 years to break even. This seems very unrealistic since the leading brand light beer now consumers 32.9% and the second leading brand holds 17.8% of the market. Mountain Man Light will have to become the second leading brand in the market within only 2 years (assuming that the sales of light beer continue to grow annually by 4%). CANNIBALIZATION RATEBecause Mountain Man Lager produces so many units and produces such high sales already, the difference in cannibalization of 5% to 20% is pretty significant (almost 1,000,000). Two year contribution with a 5% cannibalization rate is $32,895,226.42 compared to $31,988,859.59 with a 20% cannibalization rate. This is a major loss in sales of the Mountain Man Lager. If cannibalization is inevitable, the lower percentage of cannibalization is the best option, it yields a higher contribution. The Undivided Declaration of Rowland High School, When in the course of human events, it becomes imperative to shake off the bands of repeated name callings and falsely given identities which have been connected for so long, and to assume that the playing field is once again even, giving your undivided attention and respect to the opinions of the unheard and abandoned as they state why they have decided to stand up against the bullying and how they plan to write how to isolate themselves from bullying altogether. We hold these truths to be axiomatic: that all students, no matter their background, ethnicity, or rank, are created equal in status and in identity; no student is higher than the other. Each student is equipped with secure and unalienable Rights; that among these rights are Respect, Rightful Identity, and Freedom of Speech. We also believe that rules are formed to protect these certain rights and that the power of these rules comes from the power of the students; whenever any part of the rule fails to protect these rights, it is the right of the students to change it and to form a new rule that follows such principles which organizes its powers to end in Security and Happiness. Fair judgment, as a matter of fact, will ordain to say that long prevailing consequences should not be changed because of trivial, temporary, or fleeting reasons; and, in fact, history proves that students are more likely to suffer the bullying, ... • 12. The Cause And Effects Of Desertification Introduction Desertification is the development of desert like conditions in regions that have experienced human disturbance (Laura, n.d.). Drought, growing population and war are factors affecting desertification. They have their tremendous impacts; however, they can be solved. Causes Drought is one of the most related factors to desertification. It is defined as a long period of time when there is little or no rain. Drought can be caused by not receiving rain over a period of time. This is because of climate change which has been affecting us badly since many decades. Moreover, humans can be the cause too because they use too much water during times of normal rainfall which leads to the immediate consequence that we might not have enough ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It has been said that growing in population will lead to farming too little land because of crawling buildings in grasslands. The growing population can cause destruction of grass lands and this can cause desertification. Drought and growing populations are not only the two causes of desertification but also there is a third reason which is war. War happens due to many reasons such as economics, land, resources, religious beliefs, and importantly power (Halo3Pro, 2011). War contributes badly to cause desertification. People start eliminating themselves and leaving their lands empty and dusty. A great example that supports this point is the radiation in Japan. When the hydrogen bombs dropped on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, thousands of people were killed. Additionally, the bomb left disastrous environment in the surrounding areas. Chemicals and poisons had destroyed everything including plants and the most fundamental gas for breathing which is oxygen. Sharpe Professor Kenneth Yelverton PWS 102: Homiletics II 12 April 2017 Sermon Preparation/Notes Jonah Jonah 2: 2 (NKJV) In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me. What is Jonah s background? Jonah or Jonas is the name given in the Hebrew Bible to a prophet of the northern kingdom of Israel in about the 8th century BCE. Jonah was the main character of the book of Jonah. He was the son of Amittai (Jonah 1:1), and a native of Gathhepher, which was a city of the tribe of Zebulun in the northern Galilee region. Amittai was also a native of Gath hepher. Amittai is only mentioned twice in the Bible, in 2 Kings 14:25 and Jonah 1:1. Nothing is known about him, other than that he was Jonah s father. Jonah was a prophet of the Lord and he was called to deliver a message of repentance to the city of Nineveh which was the capital of the Assyrian Empire. Good morning Ms Wenman and classmates. I strongly believe that this quote written by Langston Hughes is powerful and very effective. The poem Dreams was published in 1926 in the book The Weary Blues. Langston wrote this poem to implement acceptance and freedom for African Americans. During Langston s time, racism and discrimination against African Americans was unpleasantly dreadful. They were treated poorly, unfairly and yet they didn t do anything wrong. This poem emphasises that even though African Americans may look different, it shouldn t stop them from achieving their dreams. Life is sometimes stressful. Sometimes it s good as it drives us to... You would have nothing to work towards which could make your life tedious and colourless. With no goal, your life would be stuck in a pothole. But when you aim for a goal everyday life keeps moving forward. When you dream, don t just dream and stop halfway. This was perhaps due to the Napoleonic Wars with France which showed people the damaging effects war could have on the country. However, in 1819 the arguments concerning the reformation of parliament came back into the public s conscious. The growing role of the media acted as a new method of informing the public of their rights and the need for action. People were also being made aware through public meetings held by radical MP s that favoured reform. It is therefore not hard to see why in 1832 the Great Reform Act was passed. These, as a result, became know as rotten boroughs because they were giving a true representation of the people of England. It was the large, industrial towns that needed this number of MP s in parliament but these often went totally unrepresented. In addition to this the actual elections were also false. Two thirds of elections were uncontested because people could not afford to stand against the successful candidate. The election process was not conducted on a single day but held over a number of weeks. The result might not be know for 2 months. There was no voting in secrecy. Voting took place on a platform amid an atmosphere of drunkenness and sometimes violent intimidation. Corruption was rife in terms of treating, cooping and the hiring of lambs. It is therefore reasonable that people called for reform in 1832. The 1832 Reform Act was seen at the time to be a solution to an ongoing problem highlighted by popular unrest. It attempted to correct the failings of Old Corruption whilst ensuring the elites in society retained their grip on power. This play was centered around two friends Vladimir and Estragon who are in the conquest of meeting someone named Godot; throughout their adventure, you meet various characters that influence the story and it also it makes the two main characters and their views on life pop out as well as their actions and words. At the beginning, both Vladimir and Estragonwere confused on where they were and who exactly they were going to meet they are usually played with Irish accents the play has a political undertone meaning that everything that is said and the way that is said has often a double meaning. In the play you find a variety of archetypes and the way that they fit in the script is very impressive because these archetypes have direct contact with each other, and although they are all on the same platform meaning that you can see that Pozzois better off than the duo and he is obviously in a better socioeconomic position than they are but he doesn t treat them as animals although he does treat them as inferior he doesn t treat them like he treats lucky. This is an important because on the political and social side of the play it is the very way that rich treat the poor or the way that a cast system comes into confrontation you see how much Pozzo has in comparison to others and you wonder why he couldn t offer them food you can ask yourself a lot of these kinds of ... This conditioning occurs when one learns to associate two different stimuli. Odysseus has angered some of the gods and goddesses of a Greek Mythology with his destruction of the mighty city of Troy. Odysseus is represented in the poem and the movie, but there are several differences between the two in the events he encountered. The Greek mythology was also a main theme in the two, such as Odysseus s protection by The goddess Athena and the hatred be Odysseus and Poseidon. One of the more difficult aspect that the movie had gotten spot on was the displaying of Odysseus s leadership throughout the God s (mainly Poseidon s) wrath and the ever enduring seas of Greece. However throughout all of the hardships his crewmen remained loyal to him and his faith that they would one day return to the shores of Odysseus s mighty Kingdom of Ithaca. • 38. Essay about Comparing The Epic of Gilgamesh with The Odyssey The Epic of Gilgamesh and The Odyssey both are held in high respect by literature analysts and historians alike for the characterization of the hero and his companion, the imagery brought to mind when one of them is read, and the impressive length in relation to the time period it was written in. The similarities that these two epics share do not end with only those three; in fact, the comparability of these works extend to even the information on the author and the archetypes used. However, The Odysseyand The Epic of Gilgameshcontrast from one another in their writing styles, character details, and main ideas. Both epics weave together a story of a lost man who must find his way, but the path of their stories contrast from one another.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In these two epics, the major themes are the concept of good versus evil and the conflicts of man versus man, man versus self, and man versus nature. In The Epic of Gilgamesh, the King of Uruk represented good while Humbaba and the snake represented evil. Compared to The Odyssey, the Sumerian epic consists of a smaller representation for both good and evil. Odysseus represented good, but so does his son, Athena, and many of the gods that help him. Antinous, the rest of the suitors, Polyphemus, Circe, as well as many others were on the evil side of the equation for this epic. The concept of good versus evil coincides with the conflict of both man versus man and man versus self. Odysseus and Gilgamesh both engaged in both types of conflict, but Gilgamesh experienced more of the latter conflict while Odysseus experienced more of the former. Odysseus s adventures involved more of man versus man conflicts because of how often he had to fight a physical being. For example, Odysseus and his men blinded Polyphemus by ramming a hot spear deep into his [Polyphemus] crater eye (qtd. in Prentice Hall Lit. 992). In addition, Odysseus and his son, Telemachus, had to fight off more than a hundred suitors near the end of the epic. Gilgamesh had plenty of experiences with man versus man conflict, such as his first fight with Enkidu, his fight with Humbaba, as well as his arguments with the gods. However, the man versus self conflict seemed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After the experiment was conducted, the goal was to see how many of the words could the brain assume to have read that was not actually offered in list A. Similar to this, when a variation of sentences was presented and asked to identify what the participants had just read, 57% of participants said that Jerry was trying to fix the wardrobe with a hammer... , even though, a hammer was never mentioned in the sentence. This event occurred during the Great Recession, a time period where economic activities in the United States had significantly declined in the early 21st century. The Great Recession occurred for numerous reasons; however the primary reasons are due to the housing bubble as well as the subprime mortgage backed securities. What made matters worse during the recession was the day September 29, 2008 when congress could not come in agreement to pass a bailout plan that would have otherwise saved Lehman Brothers. After spraying luminol, in a darkened room, the luminol will react with the iron in the hemoglobin of the blood which catalyzes the luminescence. This reaction causes the emission of a blue glow lasting for approximately 30 seconds. Although luminol is useful in detecting small traces of blood, there are some disadvantages to using it. One disadvantage is the sensitivity of the solution and the blood itself. 75 years ago, luminol was introduced to the forensic field as a blood search technique. Since its introduction, much investigation has been done to enhance the solution in order to get a longer and more intense/brighter luminescence reaction with the blood. Besides the importance of the pH level of the solution, most of these investigations came to the conclusion that adding more chemicals and/or solution enhances the brightness and duration of the reaction. However, this process also potentially damages the DNA and bloodstain pattern itself. Up till now, hardly any investigation has been done into the enhancement of the catalyst in this reaction process: the blood (haemoglobin) itself (Eversdijk, 12). The chemiluminescence of luminol can occasionally be activated by compounds containing copper, bleaching chemicals, animal blood, fecal matter, semen, and even saliva.
